This is the best Pirtles I've ever been to. That unfortunately doesn't say a lot though. I occasionally have a hankering for some chicken livers and they have them available all of the time. Half of the time I get them from here they are good. The other half reminds me why I don't come more often. I've had the chicken years ago and it's just meh. It just doesn't compete with any other chicken out there. The little biscuits are strange but tasty when you dunk them in that heart stopping gravy. That's at least worth a try once in your life. They have been in Memphis for 214 years or so. I guess they are a Memphis tradition you just have to throw a little money every once in a while in exchange for a chance of a good greasy meal. It's all drive thru now. It was quick n efficient and the cashier at window was very nice. It's 95 outside so I commend here, opening n closing that window. Gotta be "HOT" inside. Food was great. Close your eyes and bite down. Don't look at anything else... just shut up and "eat the (chicken) Annie May". Your not here for ambiance, your not here for lights and music. This is a place you go if you want some good Azz chicken, and don't care what's around. If you knew what the original KFC recipe (1980s) was... here it is. About 45 minutes ago, my co-workers and I went to Jack Pirtle's Chicken on Jackson Street in Memphis, TN. The customer service was poor. When we drove up to the drive-thru window, the lady did not give us ample time to place our order. We specifically asked that our chicken be fresh and right out of the grease. Instead, we got liver and chicken that tasted like they had been thrown back into the hot grease. When we kindly complained, the young lady told us she was not going to drop any more chicken for us. They need to go to managers training To learn how to be a manager. Best fried chicken Drive Thru in all of Memphis. Offering 8 locations throughout the city. I prefer the Mt. Moriah location as it's the cloest to me & on my way to my Poker games at Dan Mcguinness (offering poker Mon. Wed.& Fri.) I usually get myself an 8 piece white with fires & biscuit. It always comes out warm & juicy. The taste quaility & texture exceeds that of KFC my order is always right. The service is always fast & friendly. The meun selection has a great variety from smoked sausage steak buscuit & much more. Prices are always reasonable. I also love the fact that their chicken is never too greasy. Like when I ate their Lamar store after work. I will continue coming back to this location unless anything should change. At this point I highly doubt this Jack Pirtles isn't going anywhere anytime soon. If you're looking for some fun with the family I suggest going to Billy Hardwicks around the corner on White Station. Well, I must say..they have the best sweet tea that I have tasted! Now, I got their chicken gizzards with gravy combo. In which the fries tasted old, like they sat up for a while. Memphis has plenty of places to get fried chicken but Jack Pirtle's is in a lane of its own when it comes to flavor. Many talk about the arrow ding areas of the different jack Pirtle's but I don't go for the ambiance but for the flavor. So disappointed with my experience today. First they need to fix their drive thru speaker so maybe they could repeat your order back to you so you get what you ordered.
