Are you ready for some real food? I sure am and when it comes to a real name in real Fast Food. It's fresh from the kitchen at Hardee's. As they offer a great variety & selection compared to other competitors in the fast food game. I have been a customer of various Hardee's locations around the south since 93 when I moved to Memphis TN. When it comes to being on a budget and I want a quick bite Hardee's is always my go to place. When it comes to a $5 combo Hardee's beats out their competitors with more to offer like an extra sandwich or a sandwich other than a burger. If I really want to splurge I recommend getting a Frisco melt combo and some Chicken Strips. They rise above a few of their competitors as their chicken strips are always juicy and never dry. They have some good fries which are better then other competitors. But in my opinion I've had better fries. I usually come here for lunch or dinner when I'm on my way to the Wolfchase Mall or I'm on my way to play a poker game at Brewskis or Old Whitten Taven along the way. I would recommend this location to anyone local or on a road trip going down I-40 as it's conveniently located off the Whitten Rd. exit The service is average but not horrible the employees get my order right and have a good attitude. While traveling from Nashville to Dallas, we stopped to get gas and something to eat. We chose Hardee's on Whitten in Memphis. Big mistake. At least for me, it was. The ad for the beer battered fish sounded good so I ordered it. I asked for extra tartar sauce because I hate dry sandwiches. I received a sandwich with a piece of lukewarm fish, a large piece of wilted lettuce and barely a smear of tartar sauce. The end of the lettuce leaf, which still had the stem on it was brown and soggy. Even the stem was turning brown. It was gross. My husband ordered the chicken tenders and shared one with me. They were delicious. Though the chicken tenders deserve five stars, I can only give one star because the fish sandwich was so horrible. read more

On Thursday morning, Dec. 30, we had left downtown Memphis and headed for our NC home in pea soup thick fog. We stopped at Hardee's on WHITTEN ROAD so our 6-year-old grandson could get his favorite -- biscuits & gravy. We parked and I walked to the front door to see if the dining room was open ... and had someone yell at me that "We're closed!" So, we were getting ready to head to the drive-thru when a gentleman in a black SUV with Texas plates asked if we were trying to get it. We told him we were and that we were told the dining room was closed. He said he had been told the same thing, but had gone in anyway. We parked and headed inside. It was like a daycare with kids (little) running everywhere, including behind the counter, and sitting in chairs and watching tv ... and the person who told me they were closed picked up a broom and started sweeping what looked like two days' worth of trash that was all over the floor. Food was okay. Our grandson was happy, and that's what mattered. Bathroom was actually cleaner than the restaurant. I hate that we broke up that little built-in daycare, but you're either open for business or you aren't. Reached out to the franchisee with no luck. I can say that our franchisee in eastern NC is Boddie-Noell and that kinda crap wouldn't fly with them. read more

Childhood memories dashed!! Oo Hardee's what have you become? Remember when there was a Hardee's on Winchester, and they had some amazing chicken. Well, erase that from your memory now. It has now become a glorified Wendy's and what makes matters even worse is that Wendy's is much better. The area with the soda machines looked like a complete disaster. The soda machines looked like they got them from the previous Hardee's before it closed. The area around it was dirty. There was ketchup everywhere as well as an un-emptied ice tray. The food was awful! I got the double cheeseburger combo meal and the beef patties were non-existent. The little pieces that were there were completely burnt. The fries were ok but nothing to rave about. It felt like I paid for a combo meal but ended up w/ a kid's version. Don't say I didn't warn you. I won't be going back anytime soon. I purchased a Frisco Breakfast sandwich with Sausage, and a Hardee's Breakfast Platter with Bacon, (large coffee), no cream or sugar...at the Drive Thru. The purchase process went well; paid for all and received all. I was in a hurry trying to get to work; was asked to move forward. (I was the only person in the drive thru.) They said it will be about two mins. I moved forward and sure enough, it was all brought out. When I received it, I drove to work, 22 miles away. Got in the parking lot, and looked in the contents, of the platter. It contained, two dry dark brown biscuits, bacon, eggs and hash browns. So guess what was missing? You guessed it....the GRAVY!!! I will start by saying that i have worked at Buffalo Wild Wings for 4 years in the past, and have been at a local pizza joint for the previous 2 years, all while finishing up school, so i'm very understanding of the food industry. However, this location is so unorganized that it annoys me consistently.... and as a person in the industry itself, i'm already naturally more understanding. I don't know exactly why, but this location seems to lack efficient employees and management. Not only now, but i'm multiple occasions have i shown up 20-30 minutes after them opening and they are not ready for operation. As i write this, it is 6:54 a.m and have been waiting next to the shrubs aside for my order since 6:33 a.m. Very irritating especially when you are on your way to work and never expect it to be more than 5 minutes, but instead it surpasses 20 minutes. What's even more unfortunate is that we have already paid and in today's age, we can't afford to waste a dollar. But in the end, no business surprises me anymore with their BELOW PAR operations... Visited your store on Whitten Road around 8:40 pm. No other customers inside or at drive through. Went thru the drive through gave my order for #11, which is the hot ham sandwich, made it a large with unsweetened tea. It took almost 10 minutes to get the meal. When I got home and opened up the food I found hardly any ham on the sandwich and the bun was burned black. Very disappointed to say the least. I used to love Hardee's. I would make a special stop on my way to Southern MS to see family and it was a great. However, this Hardee's is ridiculous. They are slow, and I mean slow. I thought Sonic was slow, nope, they stole the award there. No matter what time of day you go you have to wait at least 10 minutes. Going through the drive thru will set you back 15 minutes even if you order 1 thing and you're the only one in line. They rarely have what you order. If you want coke, they're out. If you want chicken tenders, they're out. Want to wait 15 minutes for an over cooked order that probably isn't correct anyway? They have that! I don't know if all of the Hardee's locations are this slow or if it's just this one in particular but stay away, unless you want to waste half of your lunch break. read more

This one is in my neighborhood too. I manage a nearby business where people ask for meal recommendations all day. I've begun steering them away from here and to other near by fast food. I've never stepped inside but I do know the drive thru sucks! They require you to pull forward and wait regardless of the time of day! Regardless if there are no other cars in line. The food is unbelievable!!! However, the staff could be better. Mind you, it was later at night but we had to wait a while. I don't really mind that and my friend and I went twice in the same night (seriously the food is that good) We received the same cold treatment from the staff both times. They took our order accurately, however once we got to the window, DEAD SILENCE. *Opens window, takes money, closes window, sings to self loud enough we can hear from outside, opens window, gives change and recipt, repeat, hands food. Going into do some work on a Sunday. I decided to hit the drive-thru and grab a quick breakfast to take to the shop. When I pulled up, the line was around the building. So I ran inside instead. Only three people inside waiting on their orders. The guy at the counter was super nice and only had me wait just a couple of seconds to take my order. I placed it, but then noticed that I might have to wait a minute or two for it to come out. I did have to wait. For a few minutes. However, while I waited...I noticed that same guy doing everything RIGHT. He was all over the place. Busy busy busy, yet he had a smile on his face. While waiting I spotted a sign on the office door by the kitchen. It eluded that the manager knows the store is "short handed", but to "stay focused" and "smile". Everyone there did. Then I caught a glimpse of his name tag. I saw his name was Andrew and his title was General Manager. All I know is, he looked really young to be in that title, but watching him work told me he earned that title. The order came out...it was correct and tasted great. I think if more fast food places had people in charge like that...they'd have better personnel and better attitudes. I'll make sure that when I want fast food, I'll stop at this Hardee's location. I come to this Hardee's for breakfast with some frequency. I always get the Frisco breakfast sandwich, no egg. Sometimes I get it as a combo, but I find their hashbrown tots to be somewhat too greasy, even though they taste good. My biggest problem is that I have received order mixups multiple times -- I order my Frisco, but then get a Porkpocalypse (or however you spell it) biscuit. Another time, I received a country fried pork chop biscuit. They really need to get their order handout system together a little better. The food is always pretty good, though, and up to a Hardee's standard. read more
