So googled family friendly restaurants in the area this popped up it looked interesting well... atmosphere is very cool and great for just adults we definitely received side eye and eye rolls of a welcome and our waitress took awhile and judgey attitude which is understandable but at least help out and communicate that we don't really serve children and don't have children menus before ya let someone sit down or hand out menus or even advertise it's more of a adult establishment from what I could tell it looked a bit like a Huey's. This was our first visit here. We came on a Wednesday around 1230. It was busy at all. When we arrived you could sit wherever you wanted. Our waiter was pretty quick to take our drink orders. They have a pretty broad menu; burgers, pasta, seafood, bbq, Tex mex. They also have lunch specials and a full bar! I ordered the catfish basket and my husband got the southwest egg rolls( which are only on the lunch menu i believe) Our food only took about 10 mins. I was a little iffy about trying this place based on the older reviews. But I can tell you this, the new owners are doing great things. What an absolutely fantastic lunch. Service was fast and the food was great, what more can you ask for. My coworker had the catfish and LOVED it. As a matter of fact she plans to stop by on her way home in the future for carry out. Oh and she told me the onion rings were phenomenal. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and asked to add chicken and bacon. And it was great. I wasn't sure they would accommodate me but they did! And you could tell the bacon was super fresh. And they season their fries so that was good too. This will become a go to place when I'm in that area. read more

We stopped here for lunch on a trip to Little Rock and the food was fresh and delicious. We got mini corn dogs & pizza for kids to split. I got sweet chili wings that had good mix of sweetness & kick and my partner got pork quesadilla w onion rings. Those rings were def handmade and on point! We all enjoyed them. First time coming here, although I pass by all the time. I must say it was delicious!! I got the Cajun pasta with chicken. It came with a slice of garlic bread. It was just spicy enough to feel the heat but not overwhelming. The sauce was creamy and a little soupy, but I didn't mind because the flavors were on point. The chicken to noodle ratio was a little off in my opinion. Tons of noodles and probably just one small chicken breast. The husband ordered the breakfast hamburger or whatever they call it... he said it was good and maybe even better than the one at hueys. We also got a side of onion rings which came out very hot and slightly on the greasy side but still very tasty. Overall a great dinner. Most likely will stop back by again!! read more

Went here on an impulse for lunch as a first timer. Right away I picked up bad vibes from the bartender. I asked her if she had a drink menu & she shortly replied, "no." I realized there was a barcode on the table to scan for a menu, so I did so and up popped the drink menu. Couldn't she have just told me that??? I let it slide. I ordered and enjoyed my food and she seemed to change her attitude towards the end of my meal. Fast forward to the weekend after, I decide to place an order on Uber eats because I enjoyed my food that much. The order was cancelled. I decided to call JUST IN CASE there was a mistake just for that same snooty bartender to tell me, "didn't you just try to order & I cancelled it on Uber eats??? It's unavailable." Just very very rude. She seemed nice to other customers while I was dining in but for some reason not to me. I was also the only black customer there as well so there's that....just putting that out there. I won't be back. Just made me feel uncomfortable and she was straight up RUDE. I hate to give a bad review with the great service I received over the phone. However, after placing my order on the phone for pick up, I entered the restaurant and was not so much as looked at. No greeting. Besides the attitude that I got from the bartender, the food was very sad. Kraft Mac and cheese with no seasoning, masted potatoes with (again) no seasonings. The catfish tasted as if it was fried in very old grease. I paid a total of $15 for a meal that I couldn't eat. I'm sorry but I won't be back. We ordered crawfish bc 2 of us in the house are low-carbing it. What could one taste of catfish do?? That ONE taste turned into us low- carbers that hadn't cheated in a couple mos, eating several strips each! That catfish is fire!! Order it when available! (Not sure if its on the menu all the time) Did I mention we also ate onion rings perfectly crispy on the outside and battered to perfection?? A go to spot for my wife and I to meet for lunch. They offer a great variety on their lunch menu, anything from sandwiches, to pasta (love their cajun chicken pasta) to plate lunches with a choice of meat and two veggies. They recently went non-smoking which has been greatly appreciated. Service is always prompt, and food comes out made to order. It is easy to relax and watch sports highlights or cable news, as the lunch crowd is generally quiet. For nearly the same price as a combo meal from a fast food spot across the street, you get great portions of bar food staples and homestyle favorites, what more could you want? read more

I haven't been to the Side Car in over ten years. This used to be one of my favorite spots. I lived close and dated a lot and listened to music here. I haven't been back because I've changed and just not the same person anymore. I have lots of memories here. I felt like it's time to come back for lunch. I remember when it was built, the north dining room was laid back and relaxed while the south dining room was more upscale and classy. I loved the concept, but now the south room is identical to the north. I guess they had trouble attracting upscale classy customers. I will write a fair review based only on today's visit. Because my feelings are so mixed, I will use a modified system that Ben Franklin created rating each aspect either negative or positive on a scale from 1-10 whereby an extremely positive aspect would be expressed as (P10) and a slightly negative aspect (N1). The owner has chosen not to support the American rights that so many heroes have fought so bravely for, by posting a sign on the door prohibiting firearms. The law already makes it illegal to carry while consuming alcohol, and when I choose to drink, I obey the law. This owner has chosen to deny that right to all lawful citizens who come here. I only hope the criminals respect his choice. (N10) The parts of the bathroom I used were fairly clean. (P8). I was greeted promptly. (P8). My server was on the ball the entire time. He would make his rounds, and when I anticipated needing another beer, he didn't do a single thing until it was on my table. Also, when I gave him my credit card, he was back within one minute. My burger was at my table within 10 minutes of ordering it. (P10) A word or two about the menu. There is a lot of food on it. You have the traditional bar food and the sandwiches and salads. The pastas I remember being so good were still there. Additionally, there was a lunch special menu with meats and veggies. I found out they grill with gas flame and they do 3 sizes in burgers. A 1/3, 1/2, and 3/4. I chose a 1/2 pound burger because it's the perfect size and I do love a good burger. Overall, the menu will have something for everyone. P(10) There is a patio that I remember they can close up and heat. This is really the best spot in town if you are into bikes. I'm not. For me, I think I would get killed on a Harley. Plus, I can't afford it. They team up with Bumpis next door to do events and I do remember bands playing on the patio. I'm sure everyone knows all this. They had quite a lunch crowd today. That's always a good sign. A lot of people complain about the cigarettes. Some people don't care and others are strongly opposed. I like smoking. I like cigarettes. This is a bar. I like to smoke when I eat and drink. Didn't say it was good for you. I said I liked it. (P10) As for the meat on the burger, I believe it was portioned, weighed, and prepped in house. It's just regular beef. They asked how well I wanted it cooked. I detected a little salt, but otherwise tasted exactly like a beef burger should taste. I have had some very good burgers, so I rate this about 7/10. (P7) The bun was slightly toasted. (P5) The pepper jack was good. (P5) I love red onions instead of sweet. (P5) I hate shredded lettuce on a sandwich. It's like a rabbit chewed it up and spit it out. (N9) Instead of putting my mayo on for me, they brought me a single mayo packet. I'd have liked a little more. (N6) I hate crinkle fries. They are the worst of the worst for fries. (N10) However, I must say they were cooked perfectly, brought out hot, and had been salted right out of the fryer. (P5) I'm glad I didn't need their salt/pepper. The pepper on my table was absolutely nasty. If it hasn't been washed in all these years, what's the point of me washing my hands before I eat? (N10) I have a total of 73 positive and 45 negative for a total of 128. 73/128=57%. If each star is worth 20%, then the Side Car is 3 stars for me. read more

I wanted to give this more stars. This is a 21 and over only establishment. The reason -- it smells quite strongly of smoke, which, to me, is unappealing. The interior is open and large, with several tables, and large bar, and a nice patio outside. The food is all-American, burgers and beer, and you're sure to find something to satisfy your taste buds. Personally, I took a gander at the menu and decided to leave, simply due to the, you guessed it, smoke smell. If that doesn't bother you, you may find it to be a nice place to have a burger. I eat here 3-4 times a month for lunch. Nothing fancy... Biker-centric decor and evening crowd. Typical workday lunch crowd. One half of the bar is smoking, though it is very well ventilated so the dining side isn't bothered by the smell. 21+ at all times! Food is slightly above average pub grub. The menu yields Few surprises, but it doesn't need to. I generally get the chicken tenders blackened (nice and moist) with a side salad (always tastes fresh) and a cup of their gumbo (above average to very good depending on the batch). Service is always stellar from the usual severs/girls. Quick service, remember our orders and preferences, and always smiling. When they bring in someone new there can be some hiccups but they seem to get them in line very quickly. Thumbs up to the manager on that. read more

Have been twice recently and both times had the same waitress. Unfortunately, we also had twice the awful service. First time, we chalked it up to being busy (even though the patio only had a couple of other tables occupied and i5 was a Saturday afternoon). Second time, we were there at night. We were told the kitchen was closing, even though it was a weekend night and we were listening to a band. We had waited at least 15 to 20 minutes for someone to come and greet us and get a drink order so we were perturbed that they told us the kitchen was closing. If they'd greeted us on time, we could have ordered food!! My boyfriend left to go to McDonald's to get us food. A different waitress comes out and tells me that the other waitress was wrong and get manager said the kitchen was open until 11 pm. I asked to see the manager. She came out and apologized. And asked if I could stop my boyfriend so that we could order food there instead!! Get real, honey. She didn't offer to cover or comp our drinks. She just offered a crappy apology. She was invisible prior to this episode but all of a sudden she was clearing tables and chatting with other guests once this kitchen snafu was brought to her attention. We won't be eating there anymore and will just get our drinks at the bar. read more

My table got mini corn dogs, burger, and catfish. The food wasn't bad, but the service was bad enough to make us never want to go back. First, we waited at least 15 minutes just to get our drink order taken. That should've been our first sign to leave, but we were tired and hungry and didn't feel like getting back in the car and going anywhere else. Then the food took forever to get to our table. Finally, we waited half an hour for our check. I wish I was exaggerating with these times, but I promise you I'm not. Finally, we just got frustrated with the crappy service (we could not even find our waiter to flag him down to ask for the check), so we figured if we headed for the door it would make someone show up, and FINALLY it got our waiter to show his face. Even though we were waiting by the door, we then got a bunch of attitude for apparently trying to dine and ditch (at this point we thought maybe we were supposed to pay someone else, not at our table since our waiter had disappeared) - not cool. Finally got to pay the check and leave, thank god. Never going back to this place again. The smoke or the atmosphere didn't bother me at all, but the staff sure put me off of ever going again. read more

The smoke doesn't bother me and I think the "no guns" sign is kind of funny. Noelle P. is right. This place is very smokey, sometimes worse than others. But the fact that is a bar, pretty much guarantees that people are gonna smoke here. The good news is the patio is nice so you can eat outside to get away from it. I like the hamburgers, as well as their "Screamin Eagle Wings". You can get em double dipped or naked with either a honey or a hot sauce. Love em! And if you're into motorcycles (which I am not) you might want to go on Wednesdays for bike night. But there are specials and fun events on every night of the week. Mondays are $10 steak nights and every day they have a hot plate lunch special for just $5. read more

Came in for a late lunch - had toasted ravioli up front. I had salad & gumbo. Dyann & Jennifer shared a French Dip with onion rings. We sat on the patio - 72 degrees - still got a little cigarette smoke. The ravioli was a little over cooked and the sauce seemed out of a jar. My salad was ok - fresh but no house made dressings. My gumbo was salty and if there was any other meat than sausage, I missed it. Dyann's French Dip was also very salty - onion rings were typical frozen bar fare. Service was ok and the atmosphere was good except for the periodic cigarette smoke. This place could be killer with fresh food and the right management team. I give the sidecar cafe four stars because I am a "buffalo" flavor fanatic and the buffalo chicken tenders here at sidecar are amazing. They give you quite a few, so you can almost always take some home (unless you are ravenous). I am also a fan of their side salads (they shrunk over the last year but their croutons and dressings are tasty. They have two kinds of fries: homestyle and crinkle. The servers usually have recommended the homestyle to me, but I am a crinkle-cut man. The fries are pretty good, rarely underdone. I have had other very good things here, such as their philly and burgers. They also always have excellent sweet tea. Why not five stars then, you may ask? Well, that is for two reasons. First, because they nickel and dime you. Want more ranch for your salad? 50 cents. Want some ranch to dip those tenders in? 50 cents. I hate that kind of crap. Secondly, the service here is very inconsistent. If you come at 11 when they open, its amazing. If you come at lunch rush, you could either have very good or very horrible and borderline intolerable service. I have had both. In any case, go to Sidecar and check out the buffalo tenders or one of their cheese steak sandwiches (beef, chicken, or the big one with both). I do not think you will be disappointed. read more

I had a salad which was nothing special, and the chicken & dumplings which was the "special" of the day. It needed lots of salt and pepper; it wasn't seasoned at all and had no flavor. It tasted like it had been frozen or came from a can.
