We had a hideous concrete slab that called itself a porch. For years, we didn't really know what to do with it, so we ignored it. But after redoing our garden beds and restoring our original exterior windows, that hideous slab became un-ignorable. It turns out finding someone willing to build a new porch is really difficult. I'm going to start with the punchline first: Jack is a true craftsman who clearly takes pride in his work and it shows. We had an unfortunate hardwood floor install and needed some help fixing the mistakes. From the start of the walk through Jack was extremely detail oriented and noticed all the issues, some which I hadn't been aware of. He was clearly thinking about the project as if it were his own home. Once the work started, both he and his worker were top notch, making sure everything was clean at the end of the day and the work was good. He remade the skirt board multiple times because he wasn't happy with how tight it fit. And in regards the value, Jack was extremely fair. I got multiple bids and he was right there with all of them. The project ended up being even more complex than thought and I never got the impression I was being nickel and dimed. He was on time and would work deep into the evening as required. I had a couple problems with my front entry door. The wood was starting to split causing the door to stick when opening and closing, and water was coming in under the door when it rained. Jack came up with solutions to deal with both issues that also kept the aesthetics of the entryway in tact. He was thoughtful and caring with the work, suggesting to only change just enough to fix the problems and not create bigger headaches. He was communicative the whole time and really did an excellent job. I was out of my depth and worried I'd have to entirely replace the door. I'd highly recommend Jack.
