It has been a year since I was asked to find the best way to liquidate the furniture, art and…read morepossessions from an estate. The process of conducting an estate sale is no easy task and I was daunted all of the details involved. I found it particularly difficult to research the many estate and household sale companies in the area simply because there were so many. The sale was not easy for many reasons and I needed a professional operation. A company skilled to handle some of the artwork and furniture contained in the sale. Luckily, though word of mouth and by way of a very good reputation I found Mel & Company. I met with Mel to discuss the challenges of selling this estate and I found her to be upfront, a straight shooter and very professional. Mel and her very competent staff conducted a three day sale that by far exceeded my expectations and relieved me of much worry and stress. The items in the sale were beautifully displayed and sold with dignity. I could not have been more pleased with the process and the results. I am happy to write this review for anyone who maybe tasked with finding an estate sale company in the Rochester area.

I peacefully moved my car twice but was treated with sarcasm + contempt when I dared to try to understand more. Having worked in various forms of customer service for over 30 years (owned a retail store with top notch customer service for 15 yrs) I would suggest this employee not interact with the public.

She then proceeded to confront 2 Asian men who were at the sale. Then, she started making insinuations to other customers who were at the jewelry table but did not see the item. If it was valuable it should have been in a case. Then she started saying she was going to start checking pockets. Went through the entire house asking shoppers if they saw someone steal the piece of jewelry. The whole scene was one big embarrassment for those she accused and so very RACIST for immediately targeting the Asian men. Having an item stolen is upsetting but precautions would have prevented this from occurring. Turning the whole sale into a shit show for a $80 item wasn't worth the bad vibes the owner created. Never going to another Colleen sale again.
