I had a tire with a leak and was using the spare as a temporaryy fix the manager diagnosed the problem as an alignment issue and informed me that the tire should not be repaired and was unsafe to be put back in service. He inspected the tires on the vehicle and found that the other three tires also had uneven wear on the inside .He advised that I should go the dealership and question why they were rotating tires with this type of wear every 5000 miles. They talked me into garbage tires instead Of the ones I originally wanted. Here we are 7 months later and maybe 5-8,000 miles and the tires need replaced. When they swore to me they were 80,000 mile tires no problem. Don't trust them, and they certainly aren't giving you any kind of deal here. Do yourself a favor and go down the road to Steve Shannon. Much better service and they'll actually stand behind the tires they sell you. Not feed you some bull and just sell you some garbage they want to moved. Steer clear of this business. My daughter took her vehicle to the Berwick location for an inspection. They took advantage of a woman who they saw as an easy target and wouldn't know any better. They gave her a laundry list of repairs that her vehicle needed to pass inspection. Wiper blades, tail light, brakes, wheel alignment, wheel bearings, tire rotation. She asked what do I need to pass inspection. They told her front brake pads, wiper blade and burned out bulb. Charged her $560. Absolute criminals! Avoid this place at all cost. They are known for failing inspections and charging outrageous prices for simple repairs. I'm contacting the PA Attorney Generals office to report them. read more

There are not enough stars for the rating I would like to give them. I was traveling from another state and towing my Ford Ranger. Twice I got a low tire alert and could not find anything. I dropped in and the place was very busy, they said they may not be able to get me in but would try there best if I would wait. Forty five minutes later they rolled my little truck out, tire repaired, it was a tiny finishing nail and they found it! When I went to cash out, no charge! What wonderful people and great staff. Coming out of work I found my tire fall. I called JW tire to see if they could get me in for a repair (30 min until shop was to close) . They said yes, got me right into the shop, repaired the tire (It was now 10 min past closing time) all at no cost. That is customer service!!!! I had not even bought these tires here. Used to get great service...until Mavis bought them out. 8am appt for oil change, tire rotation. They didn't even start until nearly 845am... because their ONE mechanic arrived at 825am. It looked like he should still be in high school. The entire staff from Jack Williams appears to be gone and with them all the great service. Called in as I could not get a oil change for a week out anywhere else. They got me in immediately. I had ran my car way over the oil change miles and my filter which is a cartridge had gotten so hot it was almost impossible to get off without the chance of breaking it. The guy at the desk took me out to my car in the garage and pointed this out to me and also showed me my front left tire was worn. Even went the extra mile to see if he could order one in case it did break so I wouldn't be stranded. How about that. Auto techs showing you what actually wrong instead of just saying what you need. The problem with Jack Williams garages is they work on commision so they look for everything possibly wrong with your car and if you do not stay with your car they will just create a problem. Sounds harsh but true. If your a woman or elderly DO NOT go here. They will tell you anything. I have been bringing my 3 vehicles to JW for over 14 years, I finally wised up, every time I bring my vehicle in it costs me several hundred dollars. The final straw was I brought my wife's car in for a power steering leak, told it was a high pressure hose and it needed to be replaced, quoted me a price of about $459, I was not feeling well so I told them to fix it. I get the car back and the next day the power steering is completely out. took it back, told it was a washer that did not seal and they said it was fixed, no charge. Next day, again I go back and they then told me because they replaced the hose it made to much pressure and blew out the seal in the rack and pinion and would be another $1150. I told them drop the car I am going to take it somewhere else, I brought the car home put it in the garage, lifted it, and seen the hose they replaced, something I could have replaced in 45 minutes easy, and I checked online for the cost of the part. less than $100, And as for the leak, they got dirt in the fitting when they installed the hose and it caused the leak, there was no leak in the rack and pinion. m Then when I think back on all the other repairs I had them do, I would say 50% was not necessary at all or overcharged. read more

Now, nobody wants to put money into their car, but I use my yearly inspection as a checkup-- like I am seeing a doctor. I want to know what's wrong, I want it caught early and I want it fixed.
