So, on this day, I was craving Jamaican-styled oxtails. I ordered delivery via a third party app. First the positives, the food was packaged well and the portion sizes were very, very generous. The oxtails were served with "rice and peas". (I had an option of white rice.) The rice and peas were very tasty and well cooked! No hard peas or undercooked grains of rice. A side of potato salad was also included. This was an unremarkable mixture of tender potatoes and mayo. Nothing special. But where my heart broke was the poor, poor representation of Jamaican-styled oxtails. Truly, my feelings were hurt by the untrimmed, fatty, tough oxtails. I was ashamed of the lack of flavor or seasoning. What a disrespectful way to treat such cuts of beef. There was no love in the food. What I received, from what should have been a comforting dish, was grief. Too much Browning made the dish look and taste unappetizing. I pray that my meal was a fluke and not the norm. I'll definitely make my own oxtails or search for another vendor.
