DISHONEST people! I needed a moving permit and registration renewal and was informed that the total cost would be $50 on the phone. I went to Jackie's and processed the transaction. They explained since I needed a moving permit I will need to pay my registrations fee in advance and come back with my smog paperwork's to complete my registrations. I paid my fees and confirmed that once I get my smog completed.. I just need to return and turn in my smog paperwork to Jackie's and the process is completed. Super simple and easy. I return with my smog paperwork and now they want to charge me an additional $50 to complete the transaction. Even my receipt states "California Registration Renewal Fees." Jackie, herself, explained to me in detail why they need to charge me again. Her employee failed to explain the part to complete the registration you will need to pay another $50 to turn in your smog paperwork. She apologizes nothing can be done because the employee Jackie failed to trained properly that did my paperwork conveniently, is no longer with them and no one can dispute what the employee did. I was there on 10/13 and today is 10/24. Why would I pay $50 dollars to do my registration renewal process but have to pay another $50 just to complete it? One's incompetence to train their employee should not be made held accountable by your customers. read more

I purchased a new car out of state and needed a VIN verification. I was referred to Jackie's by the company doing my tag work, and after reading all the 5-star Yelp reviews I called Wednesday afternoon around 3:30pm. Unlike some reviewers, I was not told to "come on over it would take 10 minutes" but told I would need to schedule an appointment for the next day (totally fine), which I did for 4pm. Fast forward: I drove over in rush hour traffic, I am a half mile from Jackie's, and they called at 4pm to say they needed to cancel my appointment: "Our VIN verifier can't be here for unforeseen reasons my friend" -- I understand that schedules can change, but I would have appreciated more than 0 minutes notice before my appointment. "Could you come by tomorrow instead?" Unfortunately, my Friday is now booked solid because I moved things around to free up my Thursday, and I am traveling for business all next week. Jackie's has left me in the difficult situation of making other arrangements or delaying my tags at least another week (which really isn't an option). It is possible that Jackie's is as good as everyone says, but my experience was unfortunately a waste of time and no VIN verification to show for it. read more

We have just experienced the worst situation that I do not want to ever happen to you or your company, this company changed its address from Santa Ana to the city of Corona, and they never notified this change to the DOT for our company, since June of the year After the DOT sent important notifications to carry out an audit, and we were never notified, Mrs. Jackie argues that they collected mail daily at the old address but never saw our letters. Thanks to this negligent situation due to the stoppage of this company, we received a 30-day suspension. With the plate reassignment process, we have been unable to operate for a total of 6 weeks, which has caused thousands of losses for our company and family, the consequences to this point are terrible. Please be careful who you trust, we come to this company for referrals, we never imagined the damage that negligence in handling responsibility with correspondence could cause us so much damage, there is nothing to do at the end of all this It was our absolute fault for trusting the services of this company. read more

I recently had issues with a Mercedes (MBFS) lease transfer. The car came from Nevada into California. MBFS wanted me to post registration fees in order to send the registration packet to DMV Sacramento to register the car into my name. However, the DMV would not allow me to post fees unless i had title and MBFS refused to send the title. I was helpless and threatened to return the car to a Mercedes Benz dealer and cancel the lease. After wasting 3 days with MBFS, AAA, and DMV found Jackie and she answered all my prayers. She handled everything for me and got me a temp registration card. I am currently still waiting on MBFS and DMV Sacramento to clear the permanent registration but so far her services are unbeatable. I will never step foot into a DMV again. Writing this review on belalf of my husband, who doesn't yelp, but reallly insisted I post for him. He could not have been happier with Jackies. He recently purchased a grey market vehicle. A vintage Japanese import, from an out of state seller. We had read many horror stories of the difficulties new owners faced when trying to get their grey market vehicles registered in CA. One of the sellers recent clients is still struggling to title his moths later. Anyways, my husband was way stressing out and almost considered not purchasing due to the difficulties of the state to state transfer of an import, but we luckily found Jackie's through Yelp. No appt necessary, they took care of the whole process, and a week later he had plates in hand. He didn't have to deal with the DMV himself at all! Everything was a breeze, vin verification, paying the taxes on it right then..the price was very reasonable too. He said he was expecting to pay 5 times the amount for the convenience, expertise, and services provided. I wanted to report the very nice experience that my son & I had yesterday, with Angie at Jackie's Auto Registration in Santa Ana, CA. My son had purchased an out of state pickup truck, and then returned to California, so we needed to get it registered in CA. I saw from the DMV website that we needed to have it inspected before it could be registered, to do a "VIN number verification." But, it was going to be a nightmare, with the DMV unable to schedule an appointment for a long, long time, and then the expected wait for the inspection was going to be hours. We saw online that Jackie's did the VIN verification, so decided to try it. Turned out to be a very, very good idea. I called Jackie's, spoke with Angie, who gave us information about how to get a Weight Certificate first. I had no idea what a Weight Certificate even was, but she explained it, and referred us to a place a few miles away to do the required weighing (required by the DMV prior to registration of out of state trucks). It only took 15 minutes or so, and cost $25.00. They gave us the weight certificate on the spot, and we showed up at Jackie's with it, the Smog certificate, and the out of state Title. Angie introduced herself, was very friendly, and explained the procedures, and immediately started the VIN verification. Fee was $25.00, which we felt was very fair. Then, at our request, she created all of the DMV applications paperwork for the vehicle registration. This fee was also $25.00, which again we felt was very fair. She knew what she was doing, and one hour from arriving, we had signed the DMV paperwork, paid the DMV fees, and walked out of Jackie's with the actual new license plates (Jackie's is an authorized agent for the CA DMV, and has access to an online portal), as well as registration stickers, and the registration certificate for the glove. Done, in one hour, rather than the days or weeks that it would have taken at the DMV (as well as several trips, as we knew nothing about the need for a weight certificate, until Angie explained it to us...before we even went to see her). What a pleasant experience for us, compared to a DMV experience. Thank you, Angie, and all of the staff at Jackie's! Jackie's is THE PLACE to go if you have a grey market vehicle and are being given the runaround by the DMV. Grey market imports are something that not a lot of people know anything about, even the DMV and those they send you to. Nobody knows anything about this, most likely because the state doesn't make much money off of these vehicles and so don't put resources into it. Either that or it's just a comical joke of epic proportions. I bought a 1987 Land Rover Defender 90 that had been imported legally to Oregon and was registered there. The DMV started to give me the runaround and it was soon very apparent that the DMV employees I was dealing with didn't exactly know the rules and regulations. They were sending me to the CHP - sending me to get a smog cert (which my vehicle is exempt from) and told me something different every time I was there. A friend of mine told me to call Jackie and she had my vehicle registered as soon as I got all of my paperwork to her. She intimately knew the rules and regs that concern grey market vehicles and how to find the right DMV inspector who also seemed to know the regulations as well. Jackie did in a matter of hours what the DMV was preventing me from getting done for three weeks. And for a ridiculously low fee. I will take every registration issue I have to Jackie. Especially the unique and obscure vehicles I tend to deal with. Jackie and her colleagues are total pros and took care of me from the moment I first got her on the phone. With all due understanding to COVID19 and what part is has played in delays, especially with the DMW. My experience was not pleasant on the post sales side. My biggest concern was the absolute lack of communication from them. If I don't call I get nothing, no updates nothing. It has been about 5 weeks as of today since I engaged them to get my regular plates, the upfront attention to get me what I needed was certainly a plus of course as it should be, thus the reason I went with 2 stars or it would have been less. I am a stickler for communication and this was a complete failure. Sorry but you cannot continue to use COVID as a crutch when you charge a premium to customers for your service and then blame the DMV for the delays, you cannot blame the DMV for your poor communication. You need to set the right expectations and COMMUNICATE with your customers. You should have pushed and escalated vs making the customer wait without any updates, and made sure you got what you need for your customers. 5 weeks to get regular plates and a vehicle registered when you charge a premium to help folks avoid the lines and delays and challenges is not acceptable. For the lack of communication alone is my reason to not repeat my business with them. But I am just one customer lost, and I doubt they would care. So be prepared if you decide to use their services, because unless you owe them money they do not communicate. read more

I've been going to this place for a while now and I have to say the customer service is going down and the prices are going up. Especially since they've hired a new girl in the front office, I believe her name is Marisel (the one in the Yelp pic). She has no personality, no customer service skills, no problem solving skills, her job is basically to try to find a way not to help you out. She is quite rude and quite frankly lost my business today. If you buy a used car from a dealer ask how they handle their 'paperwork'. I bought a car from SocalAutomotors on July 7, 2017. They put the Temp registration in window as normal. No plates came with car (I was told they were personized plates) . After two weeks of no license plates and no word on any paperwork, I went to the DMV and was told my 'dealer' had to handle the registration. I called the dealer and they said they called 'their people' and could expect the registration in the mail soon. It was registered July 28 and arrived with no license plates and no 2018 tag. Jackie's Auto Registration did their paperwork. I was stopped by the police for no plates or tags on Oct 20 and called the dealer and Jackie's on Oct 23 to find out where my plates were. I did get the plates the next week but interestingly enough the postmark was Oct 23 (the day I called) AND still did not get the 2018 Tag for the plates. I called Jackie's about getting the tag was very rudely handled by their office and was told they had included the tag (which they did not) and that I would have to pay for a duplicate tag. After talking with Jackie directly they agreed to 'pay' to get the tag that should have been sent in the first place and it was sent on Oct 24th. The 'month' tag was never received either and I had to contact them yet again to get it on November 1. So it took FOUR months for the paperwork to be processed and one police stop. I would suggest that anyone ask if these guys are doing the paperwork, and if so, buy somewhere else. Life is too short for this much hassle. They get an "F" as a grade. read more
