Positives: On the Sunday around 3pm it was open when most others in the area were closed. They have their own carpark which helps. Spacious seating area. Negatives: Fish batter was squelching with fat and heavy to eat. They're a bit on the expensive side, and staff acted utterly fed up and miserable! read more

I wouldnt ever get serve there as i was a local school kid :@ Well thank god i didn't! They fry everything in one fry which is pretty disgusting as it means sausage, chip, skimpy etc... in one oil. When i came in Uxbridge for the first time, this place was the first one when i ate some fish 'n chips, the place is confortable and easy, but sometimes is not really clean, and the staff is kind and they listen all your needs, the only thing that surprised me it was the place is always full of elderies and no many young people. And talking about the food, the fish is really tasty and you can taste how is fresh, but the buttery and the breading of the fish is not the top, i think sometimes it's a question of the oil and the staff: people who can cook and people who cannot. Not much to say about Jack's, some of the best Fish and Chips I have ever had but the chips make you fart like a bastard.

This fish and chip shop has been around for what seems like forever. It had great fish and chips, and the fish are usually pretty fresh. They have ample seating for you to enjoy your meal, and there is also a good amount of parking space. Staff are usually pretty helpful, and service pretty efficient. Also nearby to Brunel Uni, so it is great for hungry students. read more

I've been here half a dozen times. The fish and fishcakes are yummy. Half the eat-in area faces the counter/ kitchen, other half thru an arch is quiet and away from cooking smell. Pink walls got photos signed by celebrities and football teams. Place is a stone's throw from the uni (Brunel) but they got plenty parking too. Reckon some students working there part-time but they're helpful types. read more

Nasty and racist place. The woman treated me horribly, gave us tiny portions, and was rude and dismissive. I also received dirty looks from every single person in there. I never label people racist lightly, but it strikes me that I am not welcome there. P.s I am Pakistani. read more

Well, I went this Friday around 9pm. I had not eaten the whole day and was starving. You must pay in cash only, had to go to Brunel University to withdraw cash. It was pouring aswell, so I was rather upset with that. Having come back I had asked for large cod and chips, sadly they were out of large cod so I just had the regular with mushy peas and saveloy. Regular cod seemed pretty large to be honest, so I am curious about how big the large cod would be. As Allen said, the cod was like, over battered. Was a shame. Chips were nothing special either. Jacks gets a mark for the dining area as it is pretty huge. One of the girls working there would give you the most dirtiest looks. I hope she reads this. She has brown hair and is probably a few pounds over weight. She has a round face. Yeah, you know who you are. Smile once in a while. The guy who served me was decent. There was a sign saying that sauces cost 15p? They didn't seem to charge for that, which was nice I guess. This is a rather expensive place to eat if you are a student or tight on budget, £5.90 for regular cod and chips. £7 something large. Mushy peas cost £1.10 and the saveloy £1.35. A can of coke is 90p. I really wouldn't recommend coming here. Great location, great dining area but let down by the food and staff. Rather stick to local chippy, food is way better and is also cheaper. read more

Gave them two chances: burger and traditional fish&chips. Burger meat was dry and had a strange taste, chips old and also not worth another visit. Looks good from the street, but the food is bad+expensive and the service staff... I think they also don't like the restaurant. read more

Bought fish and chips on thursday evening,take away, fish was okish but the chips were like left overs from last week,but i did notice in the shop the dinners that were eating there, there chips looked fresh, not like the left overs i got,wont use them again. read more

expensive, been there plenty of times, shame there is no halal options, clean but not for me. i prefer chiken cottage in hayes.
