I would give zero stars if I could. I've used these guys a bunch before. I think they must have changed ownership or something during Covid because they were so much better before. Now their work is barely average (sometimes below) and their customer service is diabolical. I brought in a pair of shoes - one of the heels was broken. They "fixed" it except the heel is now at an angle/slant so not good for walking. I asked them to fix it. When I came back they said they had but it looked exactly the same. They were then extremely rude (even insulted my shoes!) and refused to do anything further. They tried to gaslight me and tell me there was no different. I think that mug by have been the most insulting part as the difference is very obvious. The "boss" then told me to leave. My shoes are essentially ruined. I'll have to try to find someone else who can fix them. And I've already paid a lot (which they refused to refund). Won't be going there again. read more

Amazing! My husband didn't want to buy new shoes to replace his worn down, scuffed, broken-in ones, so I took them here to see if they could be rescued. At the same time, I spontaneously decided that my leather backpack needed some TLC. WOW! Am I glad I did! My bag was returned looking newer than new, saving me the hundreds of dollars I would have spent buying a new one, and it was also sealed, so no polish at all rubs off on my clothes. My husband's shoes looked great too - with fresh soles, and polished to a high shine. I never would have thought they still had life in them. I wish I had thought of taking before and after photos. I will always bring my shoes and bags here from now on. It was money well spent! AND - the repair shop is part of a larger shoe store that sells very high-quality comfortable shoes, perfect for travel and the daily grind. My doc Martin boots need repairs so I went to Jack's and looked around. I asked about the repair costs and didn't really get an answer even though I was wearing the boots and he could see the areas that needed repairs. I also needed boot Laces and picked up a pack. Now I'm not sure if it was because he's greedy or because I'm transgender but the price he told me for a set of 54" boot laces at his store was over $8 dollars. I thought he just wanted to get rid of me so I left. I did find the same laces at a few other places for around $2. I won't be getting any repairs there. read more

I asked the guy behind the counter how much to resole a pair of shoes that I really like. The store even has a picture of a pair that look similar to them & I pointed out what needed to be fixed. He then asks "How much did you pay for them?" I tell him about $40. He then says "Consider buying some new shoes." implying that it would be more expensive to fix than they are worth. And they did another great job today replacing the heels on my shoes and shining it making them look like a brand new pair!!!) Saved my feet when I was on my way to the job interview. The shoes I was wearing weren't quite broken in, so they loosened it up a bit. They also had shoes on sale, so on the way back, I got a pair for the next interview. Highly recommend for any leather repair. My favorite leather backpack had become discolored from years of use and one of the zippers had fallen off. I considered getting rid of it but brought it in to Jack's and Juan told me all could be restored in a few days. When I went to pick it up, I was shocked. It looked brand new. He was able to fix the discoloration as well as the zipper. They also did an excellent job repairing the leather on my heels that had become worn. read more

I wandered into this shoe store on a whim on my lunch one day in hopes that they could punch another hole in my leather belt. I was greeted by a friendly man behind the counter. Not only did he punch two more holes in my belt but he did it on the spot! They don't joke around with their sign that says, "while you wait"! Last week I went to Jack's to buy shoes to wear immediately as the shoes I was wearing were impossible to walk in. The initial service was good and I was helped right away. I bought a pair on sale (still came out to $100) and was on my way - walking out with the shoes on. I walked back to my office, which is less than a block away, walked to the Bart station later, less than a block, then to the parking lot, about a block. By the time I got home, I noticed that one of the shoes was coming apart in 2 places, which was pretty frustrating. I put the shoes in a bag and brought them to my office. Due to a series of lunch meetings and off-sites, I could not bring the shoes back right away. I went to the store today and said I would prefer just to return them because the brand did not seem like it was worth the money. I was told that was impossible and show the signs which I missed when I was in there before - fine, no exchange either - okay, I asked what could be done because the shoes would most likely continue to come apart. I was told that once a sale item is sold there is nothing they could do and it's not their responsibility anymore. I tried to explain that I barley walked in them which was refuted by the clerk and then was he started to tell me that people of my size... he then stopped and said: "People who are over 100 pounds wear out the shoes." 100 pounds???!!!! so, like everyone? He agreed to glue the shoe for free but said several times that they normaly wouldn't do that and next time it wouldn't happen. Not to worry sir - there will be no next time. I decided to not let him work on the shoe and will follow up with the manufacturer. The whole experience was bad and of course, the worst part was when the clerk tried to use my body and weight to explain why the shoe was falling apart after less than a day of wearing. I was practically in tears after I left because of that! The other thing that really stands out was how he never even apologized or tried to help/ come up with a solution. I have worked in all types of customer service jobs for many years and an apology when something goes wrongs goes a long way. I didn't get a bad sales vibe like I do from some other shops. I've had heels and men's shoes resoled, and water damage to leather treated. Everything has come back in great shape. I brought in a fairly good pair of quality leather shoes with wood soles. had the soles replaced, but hey replaced them with rubber soles and not wood soles, cost me $40- for rubber soles- c'mon man. also they wanted $15 to shine them up. c'mon man, I can get a shoe shine for $8 right outside your door. over priced, quality work, but cheap materials. would not recommend bringing your valuable shoes there. read more

Heads up that unlike Nordstrom's and a lot of other shoe stores, if you buy a pair of shoes from them, wear them and they cause damage to your feet, they won't take them back. It's nice to support small business however my recent purchase pushed my principles. I'm stuck with a new unwearable pair of Clark's, which they offered to fix, but I don't think you can fix a shoe that lacerates your heal. Lesson learned. read more

I brought one pair of shoes for a resole and they came out looking so much better than new that I would up bringing all my shoes for various rehab work. When a pair didn't need a sole or heel they said so. All shoes looked great with the work done at reasonable price with fast turnaround time. Horrible experiences with this shoe repair. Heal protectors to three pairs of shoes applied at different times. All three started slipping off the heel and nails started poking out. Had an extra hole added to a strap on another pair of very expensive shoes. They didn't take the strap out of the buckle to make the hole an even length between the others so now the strap is too tight. They look fancy and professional with all of their fancy European shoes that they sell but their workmanship and shoe repair product is terrible. read more

These guys are crooks. Truly. They do not have standard pricing. They simply try to steal your money. I have been using them for a while as I was lazy and they are right by my office but I started to suspect that the manager is a crook so I started to see how much different their prices were based on the things like the jewelry I was wearing and oh there was a huge difference. Then this week, I went in with two pairs of shoes that needed a few simple things done. The manager quoted me $70 for one pair and then $50 for another but also insisted the other needed new heal tips when the heal tips clearly, clearly had at least 1/3rd of an inch if not more - meaning barely worn and he wanted to charge another $18 for that. When I questioned the pricing he got mad - which I had experienced before. So, I left. I took the shoes to another shop. I had beautiful work done on both of them for $28. And, when I asked if he thought I needed new heal tips on one of them, he looked at me like I was nuts and pointed out how much heal tip was left. I think the guy who is the one that set the prices and works so hard to cheat customers here must be pocketing the money personally and stealing it not only from customers but from the business. Hopefully he will be caught soon and exposed for the crook that he is. read more
