paid 170$ to install a touchscreen left speaker don't work, overheating, distortion, garage

Just don't go to this place. I told them to install a aftermarket radio(with kits) and they end up didn't install it properly.(known that until I found another store reinstalled. Radio's supposed to be look like integrated but it was popped out) Also they messed up my interior a bit even they claimed that they were being careful. There was also a fingerprint on my new kit that cannot wiped. I bought a new kit after a few months. And I had to find some other person to fix my interior and stuff. Frustrating experience... Just go to big cities like Dallas if u wanna find someone who's really professional... Would give 0 star if I can. read more

I made an appointment to have a new stereo unit put in my RV. I was there at my designated time and waited over an hour and no one got around to my vehicle. I watched the guy that was supposed to work on it, in the bay, then he comes outside right beside my RV and visits with a buddy of his for about 10 minutes. When I asked about when he was going to get to my vehicle he basically told me my appointment meant nothing and that I needed to just wait in line. Needless to say, I left & won't ever be back. I'll drive it to Dallas first. read more

They installed my after market radio antenna for $135. Cost of labor was pretty high in my opinion, but they got the job done. Sadly, they left the packaging trash in my car, and it also smelled like smoke when I got my car back. I think the atmosphere of the shop would be better if they removed the picture of a blonde hair bikini woman on one of their displays. As a woman, it did not make me feel welcome. I needed to replace a broken mast base and antenna on my 2016 Honda CRV. The local Honda dealer's service representative said it would take 5 hours of labor at a cost of $750 to $850 just for the labor. Instead, I bought the parts and on the recommendation of a service representative from Dunn's Brake and Auto I took it to Jack's stereo. The manager Dean Law said he could do the work for $65 labor, and they did a fantastic job. I saved at least $685 and my radio and navigation system are once again working perfectly. Also, it took Jack's Stereo less than two hours to do the job. While waiting for the work to be completed, I had a great time looking around the shop. Jack's has been in business since 1966, and the collection of awards and sourvenirs on display is like touring a museum. A signed football by RG3 and best of Waco awards for the past 20 years are just part of the highlights on display. Very poor work. Took my Cadillac to get a system and a radio installed and after they were done not even a week later my headliner was loose and sagging, my sunroof wasn't working properly. They didn't even hook the radio up right I had to fix it and way too overpriced I WOULD NOT AND EVER USE THEM AGAIN!!!!! read more

MAAAAAAN these lazy guys had me waiting in the waiting room for around 4 hours to install my two 12'' subs in the trunk of my car. Nobody came out to give me any updates or explain why I'd been waiting for 4 hours. I'd assumed there were cars ahead of me but people kept dropping their cars off and then picking 'em up again! After they finally finished I got in my car and pulled out of the parking lot onto Valley Mills Rd. I put in a CD, hit play and dammit if the subs weren't working. i drove back to the shop and the guy looked at me with a clueless look on his face and said "oh....did you want us to wire the subs up too"? WHOOOOOOOA HOLD THE PHONES.........So i just spent a few hundred bucks at your shop on speakers AND installation and you didn't know i wanted you to hook the damn subs up??? Well, he explained that one of the wires was bad (how'd you know that if you never even tried hooking it up) but it should work........great, now you're giving me crappy wires on top of everything that's happened today. I wanted a better strip of speakers cable but they were closing so he connected the speakers and I was on my way. This is one of the worst businesses I've been to and after my experience, I've heard nothing but bad stuff about them. Bad stories about "Jacks" are all over Waco. Don't risk it, just go somewhere else, these guys don't give a damn about their jobs read more

This place is ridiculous. I went in for a amp swap. There was nobody ahead of me. It was 1000am. They came back around 115pm and told me "sorry but your subs are no good" Now these are relatively new, very expensive 12s. I know for sure there is nothing wrong with the speakers. I new right away that he was trying to get over on me because the amp change was only $35 and it obviously took him all day. So I told him ok and left. I got home and looked at the terminal on the box and the positive connector was slightly melted causing a bad connection. So this guy was hoping I would just buy new subs without question. Sorry buddy maybe you can fool the next guy. Please do yourselves a favor and STAY AWAY FROM JACKS! read more

I went there at 11am and the said to drop my car off anytime before 2 and theyed have it done the same day because it would take the 3 hours to install an amp and subs. Dropped it off at 1230 and still at 330 i had already been by atleast 3 times and still my car hadnt moved and they were not busy at all. atleast 2 or 3 guys werent just standing around not doing anything. It was pretty damn sad how lazy these people were. So anyways i called up there and asked what the status was. They said that it wouldnt be much longer they were pulling it into the bay. They lied. Fine Whatever. I then called back another 1.5hr later at 5 and asked again what the status was. They said they called, yet i had no missed call. They then told me my amp doesnt work. even though it was less then a year old and worked perfectly before that bye bye $250 amp. Ok well i said it worked perfectly fine only a few days ago and i disconnected the fuse and the power wire before i unhooked the amp so theres no way i messed it up. so the question is WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY DOING FOR 4.5HRS BESIDES MESSING UP MY AMP. he havent put the subs in the new box i was buying from then and he hadnt even bothered to run the wire still. QUIT HIRING LAZY KIDS TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS he couldve atleast sold me the damn box for $100 and ran the wires for another $125 But no he's doesnt give a shit about anything. read more

I bought a remote start kit online a few years ago and had it installed at Jack's Stereo in Waco.I used it for a while and then just went back to the regular start. Well I have been having my headlight flicker on and off, then yesterday at work my brakes lights would not turn off. After replacing the brake switch and it not fixing the problem a coworker found a wire that had been spliced as a way of getting power to the device and this was causing the problem. The splice that they made was a made by just cutting the insulation off of a wire that was going to something else and wrapping the new wire around the existing wire. This is the worst and laziest electrical work that I have probably ever seen done by a so-called "professional" shop. I have considered going to the one closer to me now in College Station to see if they would remove the device as a courtesy, but I don't know if I trust the place enough after this experience to even have them do this. I am not sure if they are the same owners or run the same way, but I don't care to take that risk. read more

Don't bother with these people. They have a bunch of kids working at the front. One has the personality of styrofoam. Had a CD player install which I was quoted at $54. When I went back to pick up my vehicle the total was $93 because of additional parts they "needed." I complained but it did nothing to help. I left and discovered the install wasn't complete. They didn't drop the auxiliary cable like I had asked. When I returned they said it would be another service charge of $45. I asked to speak to a manager, they gave me a number which nobody answered. Did a chargeback on my credit card, Mastercard really is priceless : ) read more

These guys are the epitome of incompetence when it comes to their job. I brought my 2009 Audi A3 to them to get my windows tinted. My girlfriend picked up the car, window tint looked great, then the problems started. She noticed the mirror extremely stiff and called me. These lying bastards broke the Rearview mirror off of the windshield and tried to fix it using electrical tape and zip ties. So i called them and explained what had happened they agreed to fix it. So then my girl brings it up there two days later when they have the mirror and they install it. She calls me again being that i am 100s of miles away at work and tells me that the mirror is cracked in a few different places. So i call them yet again and they ask to see it. So I bring it there myself and they agree to order a new mirror since the one they installed obviously came out of a totaled car. Two weeks go by and the "new" mirror arrives and at this point i have been very patient and polite. As i am waiting for my car to finally be the way it was before they touched it, the manager, Dean, comes from the back and says, " Well i guess I'm going to have to send you down to get a new windshield because my guy cracked your windshield when he was trying to fix your mirror.". I am not a guy that enjoys sitting here wasting my personal time writing reviews on businesses, but this place has me so furious it seems worth my time to let you know before you step into a bad situation like i did. So if i could i would make their slogan something like "Jacks Stereo, bring it here and we'll break it".
