I go in and they plug it in and (the motor was sounding horrible!) the motor squeals and he says, it's the motor! Really? As if I couldn't tell. So before heading in I had looked up the motor and knew what I was looking at $$ wise just labor i was curious about and to know that the motor was my only problem. He continues, yeah your motor is shot and unfortunately I worry that if I started messing with this it could break and they don't make parts for these anymore. Mind you my husband bought me this six years ago, yes I know they don't sell them anymore but I have bought replacement parts for this and have had no issue finding them whatsoever! So I told him I looked up the motor and found it on amazon ($33.96) so he looks it up and found it for $47! Of course he said it would be free shipping. What a load of crap! He says I can buy the motor and just pay labor, which is only $49! I said forget it and he threw up his hands and walked away. I was curious if I asked about his products if that would change his attitude. Of course it did and now I know I will never go back. 10 min to remove clean and replace the motor. $35 with tax And I got free shipping (who knew that was available to anyone other than him!) and my shampooed works again. FYI I am a caregiver not an electrician or mathematician or rocket scientist. I did not use YouTube to figure out how to fix my machine. This is not a hard thing to do and done yourself can be much cheaper. People like that prey on the naive. Know your stuff before you head in, and unless you want to put another gold bracelet on his arm fix it yourself. Lastly, if he would have been even slightly nicer, I would have paid him to fix it. Attitude is everything.

I have a Samsung dryer that was making a squeaking/grinding noise. After digging online and…read morewatching a few YouTube videos, I thought the rollers were the issue and sent out a handful of appliance repair quotes on Yelp. A&S was first to quickly respond and tentatively answer all my questions. In about an hour, Soslan showed up to take a look at the dryer. He advised in his experience the noise was likely a pulley versus the rollers and provided a fair estimate. Upon disassembling the unit, he updated me on the issue (which was the pulley) and the total cost of the job, which was slightly lower than the original quote! He had the tools/parts on hand and about hour later the dryer was up and running again - noise gone! Soslan is awesome and professional. I appreciated his excellent communication. If I have any other home appliance issues, I will definitely give him a call. NOTE: Invoices are provided and credit cards are accepted via PayPal card reader. I did my research and had it narrowed down to a couple different companies. I chose DUCTZ of Mid Michigan even though the price was a little higher. I was impressed with the reviews and thought to myself "you get what you pay for" I was very happy with the work that was done, the guys called in the morning and asked if they could come a little earlier which worked out perfect. The guys were at the house for about 3- 3 1/2 hours. The guys explained to me the process, I received pictures of before and after and I could hear some of the stuff being sucked out of the ducts. The two guys were professional and cleaned up, I would definitely call DUCTZ again and refer the company to anyone who asked.

Ok, that's well before the heating season, no problem. Then, a couple days before the second scheduled appointment, they called to say they had a covid outbreak among their staff and wanted to reschedule to late October...two months after the original appointment! I called a different company and they came out two days later and did the job.

The technician and the back office said I was getting tier 2 inspection(which includes a video scope) for a 10% discount at $315. When the techs arrived, they said they could not inspect with a video. I called and inquired as to whether this would lower the price. "No". Ok. They had to move my stove, which rests on granite tiled floor. An awful grinding noise, (which I should have immediately called out). I wanted the techs to show me how dirty it was and their first pass had just a bit of creosote. But they made sure to mention that it was "really" dirty and that I should schedule once a year. Ok. But, I used to do my own at a previous home and compared to that, it was NOT really dirty by any means. They were done in 10 minutes. Pushed back the stove and I paid them cash. In doing so, they charged me $300. Thank you. However, when they left, I gave everthing a closer look. The original debris that came out of the pipe was still on the floor behind the stove (Are you kidding me? Your vaccuum was right there and could have sucked this up in under 5 seconds) and then I noticed the crazy scratches on the granite. I called back office; sent in photos and explained what happened. I demanded a fix (Not rocket science, as the stone has to be sanded and polished), but is it my responsibility to do the job correctly that I paid $300 for)? The back office asked me if I had pictures of the floor before the techs scratched it? Ah, no. Supposedly I'm to expect a call back from the owner. Been a week and 1/2. Crickets.

Sometimes they suggest that I hire a professional. Sometimes they point to a tool or part that will make my job much easier. I never get the impression that they are swaggering around and trying to impress me with how much they know. That compares to some other hardware stores where the clerks are either never there, or too busy stocking shelves to help me, or on a huge ego trip or dumber than a box of rocks. Nope. I tried 3 days in a row and triple checked the number. I did not want to drive for half an hour if they had a fix over the phone or if they were closed. Today I took my lunch hour to go there and in the window there is a big sign that says "CLOSED 12/24 - 1/1 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!" WHAT? No Message on their phone at all let alone saying they are closed for a WEEK! Get a voicemail service PLEASE. So I call Hoover to get an alternate repair shop, they do have a VM and it says they are closed for the holidays. I can not win.
