I am deeply disappointed by the treatment I received at this urgent care facility on a recent…read moreSunday visit. I came in seeking help for gastritis--a painful and disruptive condition--and instead of receiving compassion and proper medical attention, I was met with the most unprofessional and confusing behavior I've ever experienced from a healthcare provider. The nurse assigned to me was, without question, the worst I've encountered at any WVU Medicine location. Rather than focusing on my symptoms or the reason for my visit, she bizarrely fixated on a medication called Diflucan, typically used for treating yeast infections in women. I am not a woman, and the prescription in question had absolutely no relevance to the gastritis that brought me to urgent care. I was confused and told her that I had no idea what she was talking about, yet she continued to push the issue aggressively. She even went so far as to call the pharmacy--without my consent--and then accused me of already having picked up the medication. She then rudely questioned why the medication wasn't showing up in my pharmacy app, looking at my personal phone as if she had the right to audit it. When I calmly asked what any of this had to do with the reason I was there, she finally admitted it had "nothing" to do with it. Then why bring it up in the first place? The entire interaction felt invasive, confusing, and completely unrelated to my care. The doctor who eventually saw me seemed just as puzzled by her behavior as I was. It was deeply uncomfortable, and I left feeling unheard, disrespected, and humiliated. While I have had decent experiences with other staff at this location, this nurse's behavior was so far out of line that I will never allow myself to be treated by her again. She showed no professionalism, no empathy, and no understanding of appropriate patient care or boundaries. I sincerely hope she is reported and investigated for this incident. Patients go to urgent care to seek relief--not to be interrogated about irrelevant medications, especially in a way that feels accusatory and dismissive. This experience shook my confidence in WVU Medicine's standards. Please do better.

Nurses ( except Todd, magenta , Kim and Cindy) were kind and they cared! Shout out to Tonya and Barbie, Staff insisted on waking me every morning at 5:45 for vitals ( I refused every morning as there was nothing for me to attend or To do until 10 am first group) Dr Elizabeth Callahan was a b***h!!! Over talking me , being condescending, overtly aggressive with me. Telling me I'm abusing my once a night sleep meds and took them away from me so my sleep was disturbing to say the least. They gave me a med that made me enraged and took away the phones when I was waiting to hear from my estranged granddaughter. I tossed my Styrofoam cup cus I was pissed. They blew this up into a proposed threat to the nurses and called security on me. The meds weren't right for my body no Giodone for me. food was decent but not readily available only when nurses opened kitchen. Showers were Prision showers spraying all over the dry floor, making a slippery situation. Therapist Liz was empathetic and helpful, therapist Rob seemed to want to tell me what I was thinking( which is not where my head was at all). I stopped seeing him I'd requested clergy and two days went by. Only until my husband called himself did someone show up for me. My recommendation is to go elsewhere. ALOT of my time was down time that could have been filled with some sort of therapy to assist me in getting those suicidal thoughts out of my head. I feel they deserve a c- after the fact. Intake should not take 9 hours!!!!

I had to request privacy to undress as they were going to stay in the room. I felt disrespected, and that I was stripped of my dignity.
