Horrible if you actually need nutrition. I've told the dietitian as well as the hospitality's working my case numerous times, I cannot eat the food they try giving me more the way the cook it. Most of it actually makes me physically vomit so where is the nutritional value in that? Here is the menu I filled out for tomorrow with a special message at the top of each section. I'll be posting this on Google and send it directly to either their website or email. Might even plaster it on WCHS, WSAZ, & WOWK-TV.

This is the statement that the hospital requires disabled veterans to sign while also having committed to never charge the veteran.

Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) made an appointment for me to have X-rays to aid them in determining my rating for service-connected disability. While attempting to go through the registration process, I was asked to sign a document agreeing to be personally responsible for payment in the event that VES did not pay. Because I was aware that Thomas Hospital already has an agreement with VES that Thomas Hospital will bill only VES and that Thomas "will not bill the Veteran under any circumstances for such services" and because a had a negative experience in the past regarding this issue, I was not willing to sign this document unless we added a statement that acknowledged the Hospital's agreement not to hold me accountable for paying for this. The staff would not work with me to resolve this in a reasonable and consistent manner but, rather, stated that they would inform the doctor who was to use the X-rays that I had "refused services." THOMAS hospital refused to provide the ordered service. I did not refuse service. This distinction might become important as the VA investigates my disability claim.

I was treated terribly as a patient here in the ER. I won't be back unless I'm transported against my will.

I have had bad experiences with Thomas Hospital in the past but it was lovely to see such a positive change within the hospital.

I love this place. As a patient of Highland Hospital, I would say that this place was great. A lot…read moreof people say it's bad, but clearly, they either weren't there or the reason they think it was "bad" is because they were the problem. I spent 9 months there and obviously at first I thought it was terrible, as anybody would. And I wouldn't judge anyone for saying it was terrible, within their first week to maybe third. Any longer than that and I would say they're lying. After you settle in and you begin to actually begin to be understanding and not be an immature brat that complains and whines about it, you actually get to see how much you misunderstand the situation, and you'll start to realize that the only downside is you aren't at home. I wasn't the nicest person when I went in, I was always fighting, cussing people out, I was even having suicidal and homicidal thoughts, but the staff, that everyone says is terrible like a bunch of jackasses, helped me as much as they could, they comforted me when I needed it and they cared. There are very, and I mean VERY LITTLE, staff that are bad, and that is only around 4-6 staff out of the maintained average of 120 staff. The nurses are great, staff are nice, comforting, and sweet, and everyone says they are terrible, but I think they are a bunch of irrelevant assholes and don't know how to see situations correctly. And parents say their kids come out worse, but that's 99% of the time not Highland Hospitals fault, it's because they have shitty parents that don't raise them right and it makes the kids think that they're above it all, in which causes them to be insolent assholes that act all tough because they're a bunch of idiotic toddlers. They offer good hygiene, not the best, BUT edible food, they offer therapy and activity class. And there are countless upsides. I loved this place, and I think it helped so much, and if you are ever looking for a place to get help, I would recommend this. If not, I would recommend you find a therapist that actually cares. Or you can believe all the irrelevant shit brains and stay away. All I know is this place was great and it helps so many people, including myself.

My daughter was there for 2 weeks last year. She self admitted because she was having a hard time…read moredealing with depression/anxiety on top of having ADD. The staff made her discharge before she was ready. Just stated that they were only there to stabilize her. They said they referred her to another outpatient facility closer to her home, but they didn't sent anything up. Told her to make an appointment. Her appointment was set for 6 weeks after discharge. During that time she has episodes almost everyday. She was unable to return to work. Basically they kicked her out and left her to deal with it on her own. She's been trying for 2 months to get her records sent to her primary care doctor and her new psychiatrist to no avail. Either they don't answer or say the person in records department is unavailable. I knew Highland was the last place that my daughter should have gone to but she insisted, now she understands why I didn't want her to go there. It's just as bad as it was in the 80's. Anyway, she has a right to have her medical records for continuation of care at the very least. I would appreciate it if those records would be made available to her. Otherwise might have to speak to a lawyer about Highland refusing to send them to her or letting her chosen proxy as named in her file to pick them up from the hospital in person.
