Hi. I had a visit on 7/3 and 7/4 . While i was in the ER at…read moreGeneral i had came by ambulance, taken off the gurney and put into a hospital bed. As I was there, I was alone, the sides were down on the bed, the nurse call light was still hanging on to the back of the bed. I was having another seizure and was getting ready to fall into the floor and because i didn't want to bust my face i had screamed out someone help me .The nurse that was originally assigned to me I don't remember her name she was blonde and pregnant. When i screamed out she came running and yelled back at me and said NO we are not doing this! She then told me to scoot myself back into the bed i told her i couldn't i was having a seizure and she proceeded to tell me, you can't respond when having a seizure, which is when i told her that it was PNES seizures and again she said well you wouldn't be responding and walked away and got the dr, he came in i was crying and still having PNES and she had told him i called her a bitch, which i had not done at that point and he ask me if i wanted another dr, i said to him it's what he thinks is best and he said well this is my nurse and that's when i said no, i want that bitch out. I have spoken to many people about this which is why it has taken me a month to write you, she should not be working in the medical field if she doesn't want to help a patient in need.

So it's 1:15 a.m. on Sunday morning July 12th. My mother has…read morebeen at this hospital since Tuesday with internal bleeding and bladder infection. A woman is admitted next to her with mild injuries fron a car accident. Back to the 1:15 a.m. mom calls me hysterical and sobbing Chris they are ordering me into a wheel chair and moving me to another room because my bypap is keeping the other patient awake. MOM WAS THERE FIRST. Mom refuses to get out of bed and I can hear Megan Chrge nurse on 3rd floor south telling her that they need her in the wheel chair. I yell onto my phone that she is not to move out of that bed. So mom was moved to another room. She was by the window so instead of moving the woman who was by the door they moved mom who was by the window. INCOMPETENCE IS NOT A STRONG ENOUGH WORD! Megan the 3 South nurse and Sarah the supervisor was condescending to me ,"sorry you feel that way" we did what was best for all the patients etc . I do not recommend this hospital from this day forward.

The culture was built around favoritism, cliques, and intimidation rather than teamwork and support. The unit manager was especially difficult to work under. Criticism was constant, support was minimal, and bullying behavior was openly tolerated under her leadership. Employees were talked down to, singled out, and made to feel uncomfortable, while concerns were ignored instead of addressed professionally. Rather than creating a positive and respectful work environment, leadership allowed hostility, gossip, and backstabbing to become part of the daily culture. Hard work, dedication, and genuine patient care were rarely appreciated. Staff were expected to continue giving everything they had while being emotionally drained by the toxic environment around them. Some days were only bearable because of the coworkers who tried to support one another; other days felt completely exhausting because of the negativity and lack of accountability from leadership. Nurses being in random patients' charts like "HIPAA who?" was just another example of the lack of professionalism and accountability that had become normalized. Leadership smiled to your face while undermining staff behind the scenes, making trust impossible and morale extremely low. The only positive thing I gained from this experience was learning exactly the type of environment and leadership I never want to be part of again. No workplace should normalize bullying, gossip, disrespect, or disregard for patient privacy. I would never recommend working there.

Instructions say to follow up with urologist within 2 weeks of discharge and folliwup with regular doctor in no said time frame, leading us to believe there was a problem we may have been unaware of since they lack in communication, only to find out the followups were mixed up. Should have been follow up with regular doctor within 2 weeks which we only found out when a home health nurse and contact with the urologist showed no need for the visit and had received no information from Thomas Hospital upon discharge. The entire 7 days at this hospital were like this. They definitely like to play with peoples lives and cannot prioritize one person's needs over another's as well as inadequate hiring of professionals and highly understaffing and insufficient scheduling. I would only recommend this place to my worst enemy due to the care and attention they neglect to give the patients, specifically the elderly and extremely long waits to be seen and no communication. You want to see what AI looks like? Take a visit to this hospital and look through the eyes of a handicapped and disabled senior citizen sitting in the ER hallway for 30 hours waiting on a room which they'd been promised many hours before. Or the patients laying in their private room and food plates brought in and just sat, often away from the bed or patients unable to open the lids and coverings on the cups and bowls or eating cold spaghettI.
