These guys over charge and then post pics about their "scores" on facebook... all bad, sure you've got a job to do but you are going to brag about your extortion? Shameful... I hope karma gets you!

After having AAA tow me to Jackson's, Bill the mechanic installed the alternator right in the parking lot (with the help of several colleagues who pitched in).

Well to our surprise Ms. DeeDee WAS there and what a sweetheart she was... a very pleasant woman (DeeDee) greeted us as we came in, explained the process to my mom, gave us the forms to fill out, then proceeded to instruct us on where the vehicle was located. In the meantime she, my mom and I discussed the beautiful flowers that are there in the shop. Bottom line is... when people come to get there vehicle from being towed they're pissed and sometimes understandably so but it's not the person behind the counter (DeeDee) that towed your stuff... and really you get back what you dish out, you come in there yelling and cursing then what do you expect? Her to offer you a kissass attitude? No! Be mindful of how you treat others... I think she did an excellent job and I'm not sure that if someone spit in my face or cursed me out I'd be too nice either... Kudos to you Ms. DeeDee you are an awesome lady!

Terrible Experience, Poor Customer Service, and Zero Compassion…read moreAfter being involved in a single-vehicle accident with our truck and travel trailer on May 25, 2026, the police called Coastal Towing and Recovery because they were the contracted towing service. We were not given a choice of towing company, and unfortunately, our experience only got worse from there. When they arrived, they disconnected our truck from the camper and drove it to the side of the road. The truck appeared to drive just fine, and we specifically asked that it not be towed. We were told they had to tow it because it was the "power source" and claimed the steering "felt funny." Later, after arriving at their yard, my husband was finally allowed to drive it about 100 feet, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the steering. We ended up paying to have a perfectly drivable truck towed. They also loaded my electric bike into their box truck, telling us it would be placed inside their shop. Since we planned to take the truck with us, we told them we would take the bike as well not knowing we would be there for several hours waiting on the bill. Instead of putting the bike in their shop like they stated, they left it sitting outside without telling us. A heavy rainstorm came through, and our electric bike sat out in the pouring rain because no one bothered to inform us where it had been left. Once at their tow yard, they parked our travel trailer so close to other vehicles that we couldn't even lower the steps to get inside and retrieve our belongings. The staff refused to let us take our truck until we paid the entire towing bill which they said came to over $15,000! Everyone including State Farm said this was complete gouging. We agreed to pay immediately, but then were told no one could prepare the invoice because it was Memorial Day and some of them had a funeral visitation to attend that evening. We waited three hours just to get a bill, then had to wait another hour for someone with a key to unlock the storage yard. When I asked for an itemized copy of the bill after paying with my credit card, I was told they don't give customers copies of itemized invoices. That created additional headaches later with our insurance company. The following day, I called ahead as instructed and was told arriving around 12:30 would be fine. When we got there, two employees were sitting in the office--one eating lunch and another talking. We waited over 20 minutes before anyone would meet us at the tow yard, then another 20 minutes at the tow yard before someone arrived. When I asked if we could move our vehicle closer to the camper to load our belongings, I was told I could, but "it was on me" if something happened to a tire. The employee then parked his tow truck directly in front of us and sat there watching us for the entire hour and a half it took to empty our camper. Throughout the entire ordeal, not one employee showed any compassion or empathy for a family that had just experienced an accident. Every interaction felt like an inconvenience to them. To make matters worse, getting an itemized invoice for our insurance became another frustrating battle. We were repeatedly told it had already been sent to State Farm, but State Farm confirmed they never received it. When State Farm contacted Coastal directly, they were told they couldn't send it because State Farm wasn't the one who paid the bill--which completely contradicted what we had been told earlier. The entire experience was filled with delays, poor communication, contradictory information, and an incredible lack of customer service. Being involved in an accident is stressful enough without having to deal with rude employees, unnecessary delays, and what felt like constant excuses. If you have any choice at all, avoid using Coastal Towing and Recovery. I hope no one else has to experience the frustration, disrespect, and lack of professionalism that we did.

For any company out there HOW they do business is just as important as whether they do a good job. Read on. I'll try to entertain you along the way I promise. I don't know jack about cars. It's not my thing and never has been and I always feel like an idiot when something goes wrong because while it would probably be a good idea to learn what makes my car go VROOM VROOM life is too short and I have other things I'd like to spend my time on. So one day I wake up and my car won't VROOM or even turn on. Crap. It's stuck in the drive way and there's no easy way to jump it in the position it's in. How do I even jump a car? ::Googles how to jump a car:: "Jumping your car might lead to injury death and maybe destruction of electrical equipment/starter" oh nice great easy I'll pass thanks. I called a few shops, some big, some small. All of them tell me it's an alternator problem based on the dash lights, age of the car, etc. I'm told I shouldn't try and jump it because it could die at any moment which might lead to me dying any moment so just have the car towed and they'll do some diagnostic work on it. My BS detector starts perking up but again, not a car guy. I look on yelp and see that Sam's is pretty close to where I live so I put out a request for a quote. Yelp told me they would send it to a few people I said sure fine whatever. Within a few minutes I get a message from Chris asking for some details about what's wrong with my car. I tell him it won't start and relay what the shops told me. He gave me a quote and said he could squeeze me in sometime today (we spoke yesterday evening). Oh I also got an automated message from another towing company this morning, and the third one never bothered to respond. Fast forward to this morning Chris shows up at my house and immediately pulls out a jump kit to get my car started to rule out the alternator problem. Why? He's the guy towing my car why does he care....? It starts and stays start-ed. He tells me to skip the shop and go to advanced auto where they can test my battery and throw a new one in because it's definitely not my alternator. (I also googled what an alternator was because cars are ::waves hands:: made of magic or something). There was a service charge for him to come out which I felt was more than fair for the amount of money he saved me. Turns out it was just a dead battery most likely from the heat and not going anywhere/working from home. He could have made more for towing me a mile down the road and let the mechanic figure it out but he didn't. That is....so important these days. In the business I'm in, integrity is in short supply (Real Estate. Don't even get me started), and honestly it seems like it's in short supply everywhere. Nobody is honest with each other and it's very rare you come across people, let alone business owners, that aren't trying to skin you alive and pull a fast one on you to make an extra buck. Chris didn't do that. He was professional and honest. I know he wasn't trying to just fix the issue so he could cut and run to the next job. We sat and spoke for a bit while the car ran just to make sure it wouldn't abruptly die. After he left I almost felt like I ripped him off for not ripping me off. Is that weird? That's weird isn't it. Anyway five stars A+ would definitely call him for any future towing needs and you should too.

Then, when he was supposedly 15 minutes away, he requested pictures - which were immediately sent. He never showed up at expected. When we called, he then said he was another 30 minutes away. When he finally got there, he was in a freaking 18 wheeler cab. Are you kidding? Of course, he could not fit in the parking lot with this truck. So he said he needed another 45 minutes to go get a different vehicle at his lot. He assured us he was going to come back. He never did come back. We waited over an hour. There were no responses to multiple calls and texts as well. So we were left stranded after midnight by this person. We finally decided to abandon the car, had to find a ride home and didn't get home until 1 AM. And when he was there (with the 18 wheeler cab), we heard him talking to a Jae. Based on Yelp, it would seem that this is the owner of the company. Very disappointing and downright dangerous.
