After reading the reviews on yelp I decided on Knight's. My car only needed to go 7.4 miles down the road.... The man that answered seemed distracted at first there was a lot of commotion happening in the background & he seemed to be involved more in that than in our call. Seeing as how it was 7:30 pm I figured maybe he was out to dinner & decided not to make a deal of it. He eventually was able to quote me, $250.... $250 for LESS THAN 10 miles. When I questioned the cost he immediately became defensive & discourteous. Before hanging up he threw in a remark to his "commotion" about the woman on the phone being "too dumb" to change a flat. At this point I had had enough of his disrespect & unprofessional way of handling business so I decided to go elsewhere. Imagine my disbelief when researching the AVERAGE cost to tow nationwide & it being $5 a mile. I understand it's a business & they need to have an up charge to remain afloat but I ended up paying $112 with a competitor. Had he not have made the demeaning remarks about me I'd have paid DOUBLE what it actually ended up costing. I would just like to say the cost was not even what bothered me. I needed the tow regardless, it was the ill-mannered operator that has proven coup de grace. I sincerely hope that man can learn from his behavior & do better for the next person!
