This was a great winery to stop in for a tasting! They had beautiful views, great oysters, and good service. We wished we had asked more questions about the tour, because we heard it was good but it was a 45 minute tour which was a little bit too long once we had already done our tasting. Great place!

I came to Jackson Triggs Winery for holiday lunch with my family. We had a reservation, so we were immediately seated, though I did see some other tables available on a weekday. The menu was quite limited, which I'd what I've noticed at other places as well, which makes sense since the wine is the main focus here. The winter cocktails caught my eye as there was ice wine hot chocolate on the menu. My whole family was super intrigued by this, so I ended up ordering it to try. For my main, I got the short rib tacos, and for appetizers, we got the cheese charcuterie board, mussels, and baked brie to share. The food came out relatively quick. The mussels were amazing!!! The wine cheese sauce that was soaking in was delicious. The one thing I probably won't get again is the cheese and charcuterie board, very limited options for the price you pay, and I was just not a fan of the cheese or meat. The baked brie dish was okay. My tacos were pretty average. I'm a big taco fan, so this is not anywhere comparable to some of my favourite places, but yet again, we are at a winery so that was what I expected anyway. Now, the star of the show, which is the ice wine hot chocolate - it was waaayy too sweet, which I expected because putting chocolate and ice wine together is definitely a sugar overload. I can taste the slight hint of wine in it, but otherwise, it was just an overly decadent hot chocolate. It was rainy so I couldn't explore much. Others in my family got the tasting flight, and all agreed that it was pretty mediocre. However, the ice wine was okay. I would also like to note that the dining area was freezing!!! The wall for the place was actually just glass windows that opened up to the patio in the summertime (we went in the dead of winter), so the insulation basically nill. We asked the waiter if there was anything they could do, and he basically said nope this is as hot as it'll get which is equivalent to freezing. All the tables around us had their winter jackets in while dining. He did however moved us to a table that was a bit further away from the glass pane, which we appreciated.

Thanks to Yelp, we decided to visit this winery in the Niagara on the Lake area. My husband and I were greeted warmly by a nice young man (Angelo). Decided to do a 4 glass tasting, with a cheese and charcuterie plate. We both have a sweet tooth, so Angelo selected what he thought we would like. We started with the mild tasting (sparkling wine) and finished with the Cabernet Franc. What an education! When I tasted the first option, it tasted like swill! Nothing can compare to the Icewine. So we decided to take home the icewine (Cabernet Franc), a Brut and Moscato. I have to say the Vidal was very close. Oh, forgot to mention the Canadian mimosa is 2 ounces CF with 6 ounces of the Brut. This was outstanding! We are not wine enthusiasts, but really enjoyed Angelo's patience and understanding. We would definitely be returning for more on our return. Oh, they are also very nice about letting you wander if you wish. Understand they have a concert summer series. If you're in the area, give them a visit. Your palate will thank you.

The staff greet you at the large open entrance lobby area and escort you to a table of your choice. Once seated you can choose from a variety of tasting options. A server takes your order then prepares your order at the bar and then brings it to your table on on a serving board. It's a great system brought to us thanks to COVID but it works better than the bar style tastings of days gone by. The building itself is a gem with a great view of the vineyards. There are even vines in the parking lot.

SERVICE: 5 FOOD QUALITY: N/A DRINK QUALITY: 5 ORDER TIME: N/A AESTHETICS: 5 NOISE LEVEL: 5 MENU SELECTION: 5 OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 5 Our initial visit was met with disappointment because we arrived an hour before they were closing according to their website. As we got to the door we were told they were closed, and that the info was incorrect online. We were determined to drink their wine after a recommendation by my master sommelier teachers recommendation. We adjusted our schedule and made it out there in our last day. The inside is beautifully decorated and all the employees really seem to love their job. We did the tasting flights, and Harry was our host. He was absolutely amazing. He was funny and we had a wonderful conversation about life, and Canada. Honestly, because of him, the experience was the best we had in Canada. He knew all about the wine and even made great recommendations that we loved. We are not fans of sweet wine and Canada is know for ice wine, and he had a great recommendation to mix the ice wine with the champagne. He called it the Canadian mimosa. We absolutely loved it. Naturally we got some to bring home. Overall, this winery was the best in the area. They have clearly put a solid effort into hiring quality employees to promote their quality wine. We loved everything we tried from red, white to sparkling and even though we aren't fans of ice wine harry really sold us, and created a reason to drink it. If you're in the area this is a must go. Call ahead of time to get the operating hours because the online times sometimes don't reflect their actual hours due to weather or time of the year. Can't wait to go back! Thank you Harry!

FEe were there gor wine tasting. For serving style and sitting arrangements this place was the best !! We sat just by the wine yard and they let us even go to wine yard and take pictures !! Wines were delicious!!! The way wines were arranged and served were very stylish. You can see that they put effort to it. I like to see thus because it shows how passionate the establishment about the work that they do. It was very impressive !! Our hosts, servers were quite knowledgeable and they took the time to tell about their wines, very much appreciated!!

Really enjoyed the wine tasting here, didn't get to do a tour because of Covid but touring the winery was allowed. We ordered sweet wines, moscatos, late harvest wines and ice wine. Great experience, loved the crackers great for neutralizing palette after each wine.

Before COVID-19, they used to have tours around the winery, but now you can book a table for wine tasting. There is a wide range of white wine, red wine, rose and ice wine to choose from. After your wine tasting time is up, you can sit in the dining area and order food, or have a walk in the winery. The staff are very helpful, the place is tidy and their COVID-19 measures are well-executed.

This is a review for the winery's pre-concert cellar dinner, which I've had the pleasure of enjoying 3 different times. If you attend a concert at the (AWESOME) amphitheater on the grounds, you can book a dinner and get early seating selection for the show. Great system set up to place a card with your name on the seat back of any chair set up for the show. Then down into the wine cellar to enjoy a sparkling selection as you are seated in long tables amongst the wine casks. Service is always spot on. Food prepared by a local chef with a heavy emphasis on using local products. Lovely local cheese and meats on the charcuterie board to start. All 4 courses are paired with a JT wine. This years 2020 Chardonnay selection was amazing. Loved the pickerel on last weeks menu, served with a crisp slaw and sauces that made everything else come together. Basque cheesecake? Who knew that was such a yummy dessert?!

Beautiful spot, reasonable prices, cool vibe. Food looked good but didn't order food.

Our waitress served food and drink. The others I observed were excellent and seemed well versed and excited to share their knowledge.

5 star ambiance but 3 star wine. Really nice winery location- modern, big outdoor seating area. Arrived around 445pm and ordered a flight of 4 samples for $10 Canadian dollars. When I asked for recommendations, the staff was not super helpful. No written descriptions of the wines anywhere. I ended up with a Pinot Grigio, Sparkling Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Honey Ice Wine. Pinot Grigio was ok, what you'd except, sweet and crisp. Sparking Merlot was strange. Pinot Noir was just yucky (I have been spoiled in California). Honey ice wine was sweet and delicious dessert wine, but the better ice wine to try is Strawberry Rhubarb.

This was one of the wineries we visited as part of our Zoom self-guided wine-bike tour and it was a great experience. This was one of the larger wineries we visited and we were very pleased with the experience. They were very friendly and even let our daughters walk through the vineyards while we sampled a few wines. We came back with our car after we were done with the bike tour to buy a couple of bottles of wines.

We drove up to Niagara-on-the-Lake as I had good things about that area. I asked a local what wineries recommended and was told about Peller. There are about 40 wineries to choose from in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Peller Estates ended up being an excellent one. We drove up to a large estate with fields. Bartender was friendly. We asked about wine tastings. Bartender mentioned how Canada has ice wine, which American wineries don't have. She let us sample it to see if we liked, which we did and opted to just get the ice wine. Wow, that was a delicious white wine! I wish we had that in the US. But in general, much of the US climate is too warm for ice wine. The grapes are out there to freeze solid. Ice wine needs to be picked below 18 F (-8 C). In Maryland where I live, winter can get cold, but it's inconsistent, some years barely any days below 18 F in Baltimore. Ideally, you want multiple days in a row for a more sustained freeze instead of rushing out for the few hours it might get down to 15 F. On the flip side, it can be too cold in northern Minnesota (where it easily gets below 5 F or -15 C often, which is the lower temp limit) or upstate NY. Also, heavy lake effect snow like that often occurs in Buffalo is problematic. It's a specific microclimate of the Niagara peninsula near Lake Ontario, where it gets cold but not extremely cold too often, not many heavy snowfalls. In the US, near Lake Erie is the sweet spot for ice wine in southwest NY, northern PA, & northeastern OH. Also, northern Michigan near Great Lakes as well as the Finger Lakes region of NY. The lakes moderate the temperatures in the winter if winery is positioned south of the lake, but needs to also be in an area not prone to be slammed by heavy Lake Effect snows like Buffalo. We wanted to sit on the outside, but there was a private event being setup. We sat at a nice table inside the beautiful estate. Afterward, we brought our glasses back to the bartender thanking her and saying the ice wine was excellent. She took the glasses back and said here are 2 clean glasses to take with you thanking us for our visit. This was an excellent experience. Highly recommend a visit to Peller Estates!

There was plenty of parking right in front, and the views of the building and vineyard were absolutely beautiful. We were greeted warmly by the hostess when we arrived, and when we requested a table in the shade, she gladly accommodated us. The service throughout lunch was excellent. My wife has a tree nut allergy, and our waitress made sure to inform the kitchen so my wife could safely enjoy her meal without worry, which we really appreciated. We ordered two pizzas and two charcuterie boards. Unfortunately, the charcuterie boards were very overpriced for what was included: each board only had 8 thin slices of salami, 8 thin slices of capicola, a small bowl of olives, and a few small pieces of cheese. Two boards came to roughly $70 before tax, which definitely did not feel worth the price. The prosciutto and arugula pizza was also VERY dry, and surprisingly they didn't even have balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar available for it. Another waitress brought over some olive oil, but then charged us $3 for it, which honestly didn't sit right considering we explained how dry the pizza was. The location, atmosphere, and service were wonderful, but the food quality and pricing left a lot to be desired. We usually just come here for wine, but we won't be returning.

Not a great experience with their service and mediocre food. We arrived at 7:30pm for our reservation on a Tuesday evening and were seated right away. There's a 3 course for $80, or 2 course for $75. We ordered two 2 courses and two 3 courses between our table of 4, and one lager. Appetizers came at 8:20pm. The waiter told us right before the appetizers were served that there was a group of 20ppl right ahead of us, hence the slow service. The main hall was full of the 20ppl group, but our dining section had 3 tables, including ours - so it doesn't seem that busy as it was mostly empty. He did not check in with us during this 50min wait time between sitting down and appies arriving, nor did he bring the lager, or give us a heads up about the wait any earlier. Not off to a great start. APPETIZER: Pate shortbread cookie: I quite liked this one, the sweet buttery shortbread crunch, with a salty creamy pate filling and a dab of jam on top. There's prosciutto and greens on the side. This dish was the definition of sweet and savoury. My friend got the cold soup and loved it. MAIN: Arrancini: mix of mushrooms and veggies, rice, deep fried in a ball shape. THIS WAS HORRIBLE. There wasn't much flavour to the arancini themselves, nor in the sauce. There was some sort of marinated mushroom, and that was good but the Arancini was so stale, similar to how a food court pre-deep fries their items and leaves it in a hot tray. They were not crispy at all, and had a hard chewy exterior. -I asked the waiter if the arancini was supposed to be crispy, he said yes, they are deep fried so it's supposed to be crispy. -I said it tastes quite hard and chewy instead, not crispy. -He said something along the lines of "Is there something you'd like me to do about it?" -I was very disappointed but didn't want to cause a scene so I said no. I couldn't finish it. Overall, super underwhelming restaurant for the price point. (P.S. the winery part is great though, I'd recommend the tasting and grab a few bottles, but I do NOT recommend the restaurant)
