Stratus is another amazing winery in NOTL and always one of our go to spots Their tasting room is very modern, outdoor seating is spacious with great views of their vineyard, knowledgeable staff, and the wines are well crafted, unique, and delicious. Mark helped us on this visit and was fabulous! They specialize in bordeaux style blends and focus on quality small batch production My rating rationale for beer, wine, or spirits: +1 Service +1 Atmosphere/Vibe +1 Taste/Quality (Flavor, aroma, and overall quality of the beverage) +1 Presentation (Glassware, garnishes, and visual appeal of the drinks) +1 Selection/Variety (Range of beer, wine, or spirit options and uniqueness of offerings)

Always a good experience here! Always treated with respect and class. The space is large and beautiful -- with indoor seating and outdoor patio. It's a mid to large size vineyard. And their staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Often giving helpful recommendation for local eats! Most recently came to attend their Pooches & Pairings event with friends on Mother's Day Sunday! It was a beautiful sunny day and perfect for the outdoor tour, tasting and dining. The event was well organized and very enjoyable. We sampled a range of wines at 4 stations outdoor around the property: 2021 Chardonnay bottled with Lees, 2018 Cabernet Franc Rosé, 2021 PVMT Field Blend, and the 2023 Icewine Red. Each station had local snack pairing, and doggies had their own treats too! We then continued to sample other wines inside. We left with more than a case of wine and a few Provisions snacks too. Highly recommend to add this as a stop to your Niagara wine tour!

Great place for nice patio view of the vineyards surrounded by jazzy music in the open. We were greeted politely at the front and waited in the merchandise area while our table was being prepared. There are so many wineries on the same road but we chose Stratus they seemed to be less crowded and they had picnic event collab with Ascari Group which sparked my interest in visiting. And wow! was it definitely something different than fine dining!our picnic came with two options: meat or fish, so we went with the meat picnic box and paired it with a glass of 2014 Stratus 'Weather Report' Red! It was worth the experience & did not disappoint! I wish more wineries did collabs with restaurant like this one! I'd come again for more wine!

Beautiful winery, with wonderful knowledgeable service and obviously, absolutely fantastic wines! Beautiful venue, with great presentation, this winery was on our list and couldn't have been happier with the experience. You MUST try the ice wines as they're delicious yet not too sweet. Would definitely come back again!

The view from the patio is worth everything! Great wines, great new and fresh atmosphere!! Came here as we were recommended for their reds! Their whites were flavorful as well. All were tasty, full and bold. Highly recommend!

This wines match their modern decor. Beautiful bookcases of wines and simple decor of orchids. I almost felt like I was in a library/museum of wines, not a bad thing, eh? The large windows provided lots of natural light in and a beautiful view of the vineyard and outside patio area. The long marble tasting bar was a high class feeling about it. Well everything had a high class feeling about it. The wine itself kind of matches it's decor, modern and different. Most of the wines were blends which I liked with bold flavors. Flights are $10 each and we were able to share the flight we just had to share the glass. I don't know if that's what they usually allowed but we were the only ones there. A cool fact, the winery is GREEN! The winery is LEED-certified, built with recycled materials, I never would have thought that with the way the building looks.

This winery is beautiful and everyone who works there is beautiful too. I got to try a full sampling of the wines, and some of them were really great, including the Stratus White, Red and the one (I can't remember it's name!) that was like an ice wine but not as sweet. This place feels quite refined and the wines are expensive, but the experience lends itself to the feeling of exclusivity. Oh and someone had brought their kid here, and an employee approached the kid and asked if she wanted any grape juice or water - thought that was a sweet touch.

This was one of our favorite tastings and we purchased a bottle of the Stratus Red. It's an eco friendly winery. We received prompt service.

We drove up to Niagara-on-the-Lake as I had good things about that area. I asked a local what wineries recommended and was told about Peller. There are about 40 wineries to choose from in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Peller Estates ended up being an excellent one. We drove up to a large estate with fields. Bartender was friendly. We asked about wine tastings. Bartender mentioned how Canada has ice wine, which American wineries don't have. She let us sample it to see if we liked, which we did and opted to just get the ice wine. Wow, that was a delicious white wine! I wish we had that in the US. But in general, much of the US climate is too warm for ice wine. The grapes are out there to freeze solid. Ice wine needs to be picked below 18 F (-8 C). In Maryland where I live, winter can get cold, but it's inconsistent, some years barely any days below 18 F in Baltimore. Ideally, you want multiple days in a row for a more sustained freeze instead of rushing out for the few hours it might get down to 15 F. On the flip side, it can be too cold in northern Minnesota (where it easily gets below 5 F or -15 C often, which is the lower temp limit) or upstate NY. Also, heavy lake effect snow like that often occurs in Buffalo is problematic. It's a specific microclimate of the Niagara peninsula near Lake Ontario, where it gets cold but not extremely cold too often, not many heavy snowfalls. In the US, near Lake Erie is the sweet spot for ice wine in southwest NY, northern PA, & northeastern OH. Also, northern Michigan near Great Lakes as well as the Finger Lakes region of NY. The lakes moderate the temperatures in the winter if winery is positioned south of the lake, but needs to also be in an area not prone to be slammed by heavy Lake Effect snows like Buffalo. We wanted to sit on the outside, but there was a private event being setup. We sat at a nice table inside the beautiful estate. Afterward, we brought our glasses back to the bartender thanking her and saying the ice wine was excellent. She took the glasses back and said here are 2 clean glasses to take with you thanking us for our visit. This was an excellent experience. Highly recommend a visit to Peller Estates!
