Went as a group as part of a wine tastings tour.The owner John Hare came out greeted and educated us on the different types of wine and his family history to which he has a wine named after haretage red.Each wine was paired with a Charcuterie board which they had all prepared for us.The wines were robust, fruity and tastywith great aroma. My favorites were the haretage red and the jack rabbit white and rose .As we were leaving everyone in the group got a cute, delicious hare shortbread cookie, so sweet of them.Can't wait to come back again. read more

Went on a group tasting tour to this incredible Winery. The owner John Hare even came out to greet us and talk about the wines and his heritage, hence the name of one of their wines.They had everything arranged and set up for us with a great charcuterie board to pair each wine with.The wines were bold, crisp, flavorful and went well with the meats and cheeses.I really enjoyed the haretage red, Jack Rabbit rose and white.As a sweet treat when we left we even got a Hare shortbread cookie, so nice of them.Such a fantastic Winery can't wait to return. read more

Excellent selection of wines! The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable on all the wines. Their duck pizza is nice and the charcuterie board has a great selection of meats and cheeses. We were looking for vineyards just to have a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery, however we learned due to Ontario laws, most places only offer wine tastings which we did. For $20 you get to choose 4 glasses of wine to taste. Our server did not catch his name but the staff there was very friendly. He served us our whites first to try and after we finished those, served us the reds. The building is beautiful, would be a beautiful place for a wedding venue. From our seats we could catch a glimpse of the vineyard with grapes growing on the vines. Unfortunately, it was raining the day we came so did not get to enjoy much of the vineyard from the outside. This place was a joke! We reserved four wine flights, and when we were seated, our waiter insisted that all four of us in our party had to try the same four wines so that he "wouldn't have to keep track of a bunch of different bottles." I'm sorry, isn't that literally your job? Also all four of us had very different taste in wine, and we each paid for our own flight so how does that make sense at all? When we brought this up to him, he made a big deal of how difficult it was to keep track of "so many" wines. Are we only allowed to go wine tasting with people who have the exact same taste as us because this guy can't keep track of 3 bottles of wine at the same time? In addition, he went very quickly, bringing the next pour as soon as we took the first sip of the previous one. The wine itself tasted like cheap, grocery store wine--even their most expensive bottle didn't drink smooth at all. I highly recommend skipping this one on your wine tour. read more

My first wine tasting: We came here on a Sunday early evening (5pm, closed at 6pm) we didn't have reservations but they will take walk ins! We wanted to do some wine tastings and sit on the patio with an order of charcuterie board. Since it wasn't busy our waitress/wine server Maureen okayed us to sit in the patio while she comes out and pour us some wines to taste and checking on us. We tried the regular and premium wines. It was all good and pairs well with the cured meats, cheeses and dark chocolate. What's even better you get to keep the wine cups as souvenirs! What a beautiful winery! We went here, there were four of us, and had absolutely the best time. We signed up for all tasting a flight of four different wines and our server/comedian was absolutely the greatest. This guy could have done stand up on Friday nights! The wines, including the ice wine we're all tasty and we even purchased a bottle of wine to go. The Decor of this place inside and out is absolutely stunning, very beautiful throughout. read more

The Hare Wine experience is like no other winery I've been too in Niagara Falls. Upon entering it gives a rustic feel and we were greeted immediately by our server Vladimir. During the experience we learned a lot about Hare, the construction of the building, and the construction of their wines. The experience is one that cannot be emulated as you learn about the location and wine holistically. We did a wine tasting and my favorite was the Cabernet Sauvignon and my boyfriend's was the hare white. I highly recommend this as an experience and hope you'll get Vladimir when you visit. read more

My wife and I had an amazing tasting experience, the charcuterie and wine pairing experience was delightful and insightful. Our wine guide Emily guided us and encouraged us to mix and match an amazing assortment of cheeses and salumi with our four different wines. we also explored parings with dark chocolate and a spicy hot sauce that really took the experience to a different level making it hard for us both not to leave with our favourite parings of the evening. Had such a wonderful time at The Hare Wine Co. John Hare, himself gave us a tour and gave us a tasting of his Jack Rabbit Wine Series. I have never done a wine tasting before and we learned so much from this experience. He taught us the 4 S's of wine tasting: Sight, Swirl, Sniff, & Sip and educated us on what the process is to make the wine, from what part of the cluster the grape comes from, the type of wood the barrel is made out of and how long the wine sits in the barrel. He even let us have a taste of his pride and joy: The Noble Cabernet Franc. You can tell it is an important bottle because it doesn't have a label, only their iconic symbol of a hare. It totally blew us away, so much that we came back the next day to buy a bottle of it. So thankful to John and his wonderful team here. Terrific experience at Hare! Lovely spot, would be great for a private event (summer or in cold weather). The wine was fantastic! There are 3 levels, and each was delicious. The jack rabbit red, white, and rosé were very well priced and both flavourful and easy drinking. The crown land red and white were excellent as well. More complex than the jack rabbit and well blended with great structure. We had the frontier cab Sauv and it was so delicious. Rich and complex but still approachable. The late harvest Riesling and cab franc were delicious. Not overly sweet and lots of great fruit flavour. The service at the tasting bar was great. We met Grace who was very helpful and knew a lot about the wines and the winery. This was our first visit but we will add them to our regular rotation! read more

We recently ordered a case of Jack Rabbit Red, White and Rosé and were very satisfied with the all of these. On top of the quality of the wine, the service was beyond our expectations. A group of us recently had a terrific wine tasting food pairing experience with Emily at Hare Wine in NOTL. This was my fifth tasting: NOTL, Napa, France and Italy and it was by far the best experience of all. Emily was professional, friendly and very informative/ instructional. The pairings with meats, cheeses and chocolate were exceptional and somewhat innovative .The real surprise , however, was the pairing of Cab-Franc/ Merlot with a boutique hot sauce, wow! First thought coming in to this place was it was very fancy place. The decor was elegant and modern. Richard gave us our samplings and it tasted amazing. He was very helpful and knowledeable and provided us with a lot more information about the wine we were having. Ambiance/View: Love the building and the grounds! Reclaimed brick from Detroit is used in the exterior of the building, and the interior is beautiful stucco and what looks like reclaimed wood. Warm colors and very inviting. The patio outside is fantastic too! It overlooks the vines and has plenty of seating. Beautiful exterior and interior accents and a great vibe. Only cons are the highway right out front takes away from the peace a bit, as do the "bangers" sounding like gunshots (to keep the birds away). Education: The tasting room staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the wines and quick to share information about what we were drinking. Very nice winery. Had a groupon for two tasting and a charcuterie board. They have some patio tables at the bs k so we sat and had our board and tasting both were delicious. They do not have a lot of wines but we enjoyed everything we tasted. Wine is well priced. Service was very friendly and good even though he was very busy. We came here for sip and sizzle, and stayed for a glass of wine. We paid for 5oz pours, but our server clearly gave us sample sized pours (2oz max) and wouldn't rectify the problem. The other servers would pouring hearty pours. Do not recommend. read more
