Dr Clarence Leung is very professional. He is compassionate and empathetic. He is always attentive and pays close attention to our discussion during the therapy. I learned so much from Dr Leung on how to deal with my problems. Whenever I have an urgent concern, I leave a message in Dr Leung's voicemail, he returns my call immediately. I highly recommend him. This office was a nightmare to deal with. I was billed months later and had to do the work myself to figure out what happened. BCBS told me there were multiple claims submitted for the same dates of service under different providers, even though I only had one visit on each date and had already paid my copays. Instead of taking accountability and fixing it, the office was dismissive and kept trying to make it my problem. Nadia, who identified herself as the manager, was especially dismissive. She did not want to listen to what I was saying and just kept telling me I was responsible for the remaining balance, even while I was trying to explain that the balance appeared to be incorrectly billed. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and this office was supposed to be in network. Otherwise, there is no reason I would have driven an hour to go there in the first place. The billing process felt sloppy, the communication was terrible, and the staff seemed much more interested in collecting money than resolving an obvious dispute. My first visit should have been a warning sign. They made me drive all the way from Hollywood to Glendora for an in-person initial evaluation, then kept me waiting about an hour for the nurse practitioner. Overall: rude staff, poor communication, billing problems, and no accountability. I would never go back. read more

I scheduled the first available appointment for today at 12:40 PM, which required me to take my teenage son out of school early. He missed both lunch and a core academic class in order to make this appointment work. We arrived at 12:30 PM for the 12:40 PM appointment. At check-in, I was not informed that the doctor was running behind or that there were multiple patients ahead of us. After waiting 30 minutes, I checked in again and was told by a different front office staff member that the doctor was behind schedule. When I asked for a realistic estimate of the wait time, I was told they didn't know, but that there were still two patients ahead of us. We ultimately waited over 90 minutes and were never called in. A 90-minute wait is extremely unprofessional--especially for a teenage patient who missed school to attend this appointment. Had I been informed upfront about the delay, I could have made a different decision. I requested a refund of my copay and will not be returning. This experience was deeply disappointing and poorly communicated. Do better. read more

You need a LOT of patience to deal with this place. I do not recommend them for anyone with executive functioning issues or who is in crisis. They take their lunch from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and turn off the phones. They don't have an answering machine or recording to tell you that, but if you wait long enough it goes to an answering service who will either hang up on you or tell you that your request for an appointment is "not an emergency". If you DO get lucky enough to talk to someone at the clinic, they expect you to already know all of their internal procedures and get impatient with you if you do not. If you do finally make your way through the office staff, you might get a very nice psychiatrist, but good luck scheduling a new appointment! read more

If you value your time, do not come here. They do not honor appointment times and are not reliable at all. I am on medication and need to see the doctor every couple of months. I had an appointment last month right inside the 6 month period where if you don't see anyone you would need to be a new patient, and that was scheduled at 12 pm but I waited in the call until 1 pm for a telehealth appointment. Subsequent calls and texts were unanswered and I ended up rescheduling again due to provider unavailability. In the end they said I would not be able to get my meds which are very important to me and I would need to see a new provider since I was not seen for 6 months, but that was their fault. Doctor fariba was late to every single appointment, 30 mins or more. The supervisor and front desk told me oh sometimes doctors run late it's out of their control. Sometimes - I get it. But every single time? That's blatant disrespect or incompetence I made one last appointment to make sure I had enough meds as I was moving and when I went to the pharmacy, the prescription was not available for pick up due to again, the doctor's incompetence. I called the clinic to let them know the they told me that there's nothing they can do. I emphasized multiple times I would be leaving the state and the last appointment was to get the meds. Not only was that appointment 30 mins late with no 24 hour notice (funny how that works. If you miss or have changes to your appointment you must notify them or you'll get fined but they can change your appointment without successfully getting in touch with you. This office is quite disorganized and personnel uncaring. I made an appointment to see a therapist in their Glendora office. I was told the therapist was going to be Carmen Garabet. On the day of my appointment, I drove a long way to her office only to be told that she's not available that day and won't be until several weeks later. Okay, so I waited. After several weeks later, her office staff called and told me she does not accept new patients. Why did it take her so long to tell me that she does not accept new patients? I go here for my father and have never had a problem before. All of the doctors are great especially the one we visit for. This is a review for the front desk. I get that sometimes you have bad days but don't take that out on the patients. Have some empathy towards your patients and leave your attitude at home. Also to note, it's weird to be able to cover your copay with card but when it comes to requesting documents or any other things all of a sudden card is not allowed. In the instance that cash is required, it has to be exact change. After waiting on hold for over a half hour today (32 mins) I hung up and called back. They answered right away. I have to hold their hand everytime it's time to refill my prescription because they just don't ever send it to the pharmacist. when they return from lunch, they just dont put their phone line back on after the answering service they mess up insurance. Ironically, they make mental health services (the one service that NEEDS to NOT be frustrating) literally as frustrating as possible The owner either doesn't know what's going on with his staff or is just giving his younger family members jobs. I had a Telehealth appointment with Dr. Ackerman and was very disappointed. First, I had to go to a physical location to have the Telehealth appointment. I was given the wrong address and I had to go to another address which had no office for Mental Health. Finally, I found the office which "Labs" on the door. My anxiety went up as the Assistant was having trouble getting the connection for meeting . She was in a hurry and that made me more anxious. I was trying to tell her about myself and she wasn't listening and told me to stay on current medication even though I told her it wasn't working and I had been diagnosed as treatment resistant by my Psychiatrist when I was in my late 30's . I told her I had debilitating anxiety and needed medication. She said she didn't prescribe any benzos (her words) and prescribed Gabapentin and I tried it for a month and it has not helped. Clarence Leung was arrogant and condescending to me. I was suffering from anxiety caused by a medication injury, and he actually said, "So, when I go on vacation, you'll complain about that." Then one time, when I sat down, he said, "Why are you so anxious?" Such stupid things like that came out of his mouth! It's like a vascular medicine physician asking why a patient still has an open wound. I really believe he caused more harm than good. I came looking for a therapist who could give me practical solutions to help me focus on my life goals without going way back in time and taking months or years for some real results. I wanted someone to put me to work and help me make changes and I'm happy to say that I found that in Clarence Leung. In my first visit, he explained to me that his goal was to get me where I wanted to be as quickly and efficiently as possible. I was excited about that as I've known therapist who ask very few questions, seem almost bored with their clients and have no apparent structure. Clarence has been incredibly insightful and manages to point out behaviors and or patterns that that need to change in order to get me to where I want to be. I've been seeing him for about 4 months now and I've come to rely on his insight and recommendations. It has been a breath of fresh air. I have noticed several reviews where the payment/billing process has been an issue. I too was not pleased in the beginning about this and strongly believe that billing should be strictly a front office function and not involve the therapist as it can interfere with the client- therapist relationship. No one wants to hear from their therapist that you owe them10 bucks, right? Dr. Cruz is awesome, caring and compassionate. Truly gifted at what he does. The office staff is terrible, incompetent, rude, and act like children. They do it have a computer to check insurance so they LITERALLY just guess at copayments as if it was not real money. They guessed my son's copayment was $60, I objected, then they insisted it was $40. My son reluctantly paid so he could see his psychiatrist. This review is for Dr. Qutayba Abdullatif aka "Dr. Q". Just as anyone who is seeking for a therapist, I am not in my best shape so I have been contacting multiple therapists. I was glad to hear back from Dr. Q within a day or two when I first initiated a conversation to schedule a quick consultation, and scheduling my first appointment via email was pretty smooth so that's what the additional star is for. But the real reason why I am writing this review is for his UNPROFESSIONALISM. I know most therapists offer a quick 15 min free consultation to see if they will be a good fit and answer any questions the prospective patients may have. So I was a bit surprised when his assistant just asked me for my insurance information (via a secure email and website) and availability for the first 55 min long consultation session - which will be billed to my insurance. Even though I am not paying anything out of my pocket, I didn't want this person to make money via my insruance unless they earn it, but, again, I am in a vulnerable situation and wanted to start taking care of myself ASAP so I went along. 1.5 week later, without any direct contact from Dr. Q, I was able to schedule my 1st teletherapy session (I wanted teletherapy due to COVID). As soon as I log in at the scheduled time, Dr Q sends a message via the teletherapy platform we were using saying he is running 15 minute late. Not the best first impression Dr. Q but things happen. I run late a lot too, so sure - I replied and said I will wait. 20 minutes later, still no show and no messages. I had scheduled this session during my lunch hour because of my crazy work schedule and just life in general so you can imagine how disappointed I was, but I was still focused on my goal to get better so I emailed his assistant right away to schedule my next appointment. Two days later, I just received an email from Dr Q apologizing for the delay the other day due to "technical difficulties" and the slots have been filled since then; therefore, he's no longer accepting a new patient. I am an auditor. I read emails all day everyday from all kinds of people, and I think I have a pretty accute ability to tell a BS. The amount of time and effort I wasted and the sense of disappointment I am experiencing now that I need to look for another therapist due to the unprofessionalism of someone with a title that people usually put trust in is something I should let others know about so they can avoid the same situation. She left me one voicemail asking for a change of time, I came to her office to confirm that I already took that time off and I could not change my appointment. I hesitate to write this review because I did ultimately receive help here, but with a maximum amount of effort, patience and persistence on my part. If you have a school-age child, or work fulltime it is nearly impossible to get an appointment that works with that schedule. The office is so crazy busy there are often very long wait times, both when you are waiting in the office and when you try to make an appt. If you employ clever work-arounds, and/or are super flexible, this office may be OK for you. I did not really experience rudeness here, it is just that the office is so ridiculously busy and the one girl working the window most times is clearly overworked and (probably) underpaid. The older lady who sometimes works the window can come off as rude, but I always use my trick: treat people how you want to be treated. It works here, be nice they are nice. The thing is the whole set-up in the reception area is not patient- friendly. The TV is always on the blink with old horrible soap operas on. The chairs are uber uncomfortable and the magazines suck. I don't think they have wi-fi. No water available. The room is almost always filled to capacity. Doctors often run 20-45 minutes late. The other issue I had was with one of the therapists. (PM me and I will tell you who if you want to know). From Day One, I was perfectly clear that my schedule was tight. The appointments offered were always last minute (that day or a day before - if you deal with severe anxiety this is super unworkable.) Its just too busy in this office and feels like a mill sometimes. read more

Okay update here, so if I could give a 1 star rating, I most definitely would. The therapist Nowal is extremely rude and very very unprofessional. So I don't go to her anymore because of her being very rude and very unprofessional. And I told her that I won't be going to her anymore and she said "okay good! So I won't have to see your mentally unstable ass anymore." And I was like "wow that is so extremely unprofessional. And then, she starts billing me crazy amounts like 1,000. Like I am absolutely NOT paying her unprofessional very rude ass any of my hard work paying money. And I called to tell them I am not seeing her anymore so why am I getting billed crazy amounts? Like wtf! And they didn't even have a good reasonable explanation. So overall, I highly suggest to NOT go see Nowal unless you want all of your hard earning money to go to waste. read more

I saw Clarence Leung as a new patient, a few warnings: - Cash price, he charges $150 a session because he "blocks time for you" but the real therapy session is like 30 minutes for new patients. - Appointment was at 10am, I arrived early. He shows up at 10am, gave me the new patient forms to fill out in the waiting room. **Note that he includes this as part of your session time.** - After finishing the paperwork, he discloses that his sessions are "40 minutes due to need for charting." So not a full hour like other psychologists. - In the end, he basically reiterated that since I can't be an established patient due to my future insurance switch, the session will end early. I was out and in my car by 10:47am, which basically means that the actually therapy session was about 35 minutes at most? Maybe 20 min? I was under the impression that therapy sessions are usually about an hour. Lack of transparency seems predatory. Edit: I filed for grievance and he stated to my insurance that my "session lasted 45 minutes because [I] was late to the appointment." Completely blatant lie, he knows I was waiting for him at the door of his office cause HE showed up a few minutes late. What a joke. read more

Dr. Cruz is awesome, totally cares about what he does and is amazing at it. The staff? Awful. Some of the worst people I have ever had to deal with. I lose brain cells every time I call. I have been trying to refill a prescription for well over two weeks with this office, and I am certain they never even told my doctor. I have called everyday and they have a new excuse every time for why my prescription is not being filled. "Doctor is only in on Tuesdays" (TWO Tuesdays have passed since I have been trying to fill this perception. "If you are out of your medicine that is your fault. We tell you to ask for a refill a week before you are out" I did in fact try a week before I was out, but it has been TWO weeks now and I have been out for a week. "We were closed Thursday and Friday last week" I don't care? I called WELL before that and WELL after that DAILY. "Your pharmacy needs to manually fax over the refill" I know for a fact they manually sent it, and I have been at the pharmacy everyday asking them to call the doctors office. I have been in the pharmacy while the pharmacist ARGUES on the phone with the office staff about getting a refill, and my pharmacist themselves called this doctors office "unprofessional and incompetent". Seriously need to interview your employees and make sure they have a decent brain capacity to pass a message along to the doctor. Medication is a very serious thing, and abruptly stopping taking medication of any kind leads to very serious side effects. I am certain the office staff has not once mentioned my refill to the doctor. If you care about your health, go somewhere else. read more

Dr. Jacob and associates is a fantastic place to be seen for psychology and psychiatric help. Dr. Q, awesome psychologist. He listens to you, he lets you vent, he also let you give yourself freedom and not hating on your self he gives you time and doesn't talk over you. Doctors are great except they all have too many patients. You have to make an appointment at least 4-6 weeks in advance and if something comes up or you have an emergency too bad and good luck getting any help from the office staff of even getting through on the phone to talk to them!! The office staff are the worst part of this business. I really don't think you have to have a degree or experience to work in this office because it shows. Shitty customer service to put it bluntly. They have so many patients that they truly do not care about you. Most incompetent women in the front office you will ever meet. If you can, look elsewhere. Doctors are good but everything else makes it almost not worth it. Oh and even though they close at 5pm. Dr Nasserian has been my doctor for over 3 to 4 years now. In charter and out of charter oak hospital. He has been SO patient with me and treats me like a human being unlike a lot of other psychiatrist I have had in the past. I wouldnt be where I'm at today without a lot of his help. Their doctors are adequate, that's the best I can say. This office has organization and modernization problems. 1. They do not use the "E-fax online" method of communicating with pharmacies. This is what Walgreens prefers to use, so every attempt I've made to get prescriptions refilled over the phone has been painful and a huge time sink for me because I have to call both parties multiple times with messages like, "they told me they tried to contact you, did you get a call?" This E-fax online problem has been going on for years, and they aren't making any attempt to modernize. 2. If you missed an appointment, you pay a missed appointment charge. That's nothing new. But with them, they wait a YEAR OR MORE to present the bill for missed appointments. Now you're staring at records for appointments you can't recall, and you're not sure if you trust what they're saying. read more

I've been seeing doctor Clarence Leung for about two years now. Doctor Leung is a very important figure in my life. His services have perhaps saved my life and allowed me to revisit the happinesses in life that we often take for granted. Unlike many therapists who try appeal to emotional vulnerability through emotional cradling and nurturing, Dr. L does not do so. He uses reason and research to inform me of the limitations that I was putting upon myself. In the year that I have been there I would say that he has improved my life. I sense the dramatic new perspective on my realities are a result from coming to his sessions. Keep in mind that not all therapists are right for you, and that each patient should shop around and find one that is compatible with them or else the sessions may not have positive results. Thus it is important to try a few sessions. As for me, Dr. L has helped me a lot and I will be coming back for years on end. read more

I just want to say that I appreciate Dr. Sidhom and everything that she has done for me. I have no problem at all with her or the rest of the office. I DO have a problem with the individual at the reception desk behind the sliding windows. Rude, inconsiderate, unhelpful, temperamental, and very foul. There has a been a few times recently where I have needed some help with some prescriptions or some answers to questions that my pharmacist had and have been treated like dirt. Even the head pharmacist made a comment about how she was extremely rude!
