Pup's first time at a pumpkin patch!
    Dorothy L.

In my search for dog friendly pumpkin patches I came across Jacob Farms! This by no means is a farm, rather, it's an extremely small lot with a few pumpkins, a couple tractors, and some Halloween decorations. Despite it's modestly it actually served our purposes quite well. We wanted to take some photos and purchase a pumpkin. We thought to go early to avoid crowds but thankfully there were only 2 other customers while we were there. We pretty much had the patch to ourselves for a good portion of time and the best part was that we could include our dog! Thank you for being so dog friendly. We got a grey pumpkin to display outside of our home for under $30. Loved the unique color! You don't see grey too often.

Jacobs Farms Pumpkin Patch (JFPP) is replacing the now defunct Giordano Farms Patch at the same location on the corner of Snell & Chynoweth. JFPP's patch is mostly about the Pumpkins and not all the other frills (i.e., Train Ride, Petting Zoo) that Giordano used to provide. This did not deter me and my son --the self-anointed Yelp PumpKings-- from checking it out on its opening day of Oct 1st to see what they had to offer. Here's the intelligence we have gathered for you: -Small, but amusing Corn Maze; it had a few more twists and turns than we anticipated and was "a big fun." -Port-o-potties w/ handwashing station. -Wheelbarrows for collecting the Pumpkins. -Several Hay Bale structures for climbing and playing on. -Picnic Tables -Good variety of Organic Pumpkins; including Turbans, Grey, Yellow--and even Warty ones! Ewww! -Bunches of Corn Stalks at $10/ea if you're looking for Fall decorations. Hours: Open daily until Halloween from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Cost: Everything is free, but the Pumpkins. Those range anywhere from 50¢ - $20 depending on size--and not variety. This is my favorite pricing scheme, as I always thought Giordano's pricing was really random and not clearly marked. They also accept cash and credit cards! While we missed the Train and Tractor displays of the old Patch, my son still had a great time climbing the Hay Bales and running around like a rabid chimpanzee between all their colorful Pumpkin displays. I would probably rate this Patch overall at 3.5-stars, but the very fair pricing, super-friendly owners and nice varieties gives them the 1/2-star boost! Happy Patching!

A nice pumpkin patch in south San Jose. We always come here every year for a small, secluded pumpkin farm, and for my kids to run around. What makes this pumpkin farm different than with other pumpkin patch is they have a fruit stall where you can buy fruits, vegetable, raw honey, etc. Pumpkins' price are not that bad. They have tractor ride during weekends, parking can be swamped during festival, but if you go here during weekdays, parking lots are spacious.

    Nice selection

I am only giving 4 stars because the pumpkins here are expensive! I still can't believe I spent over $50 on 4 pumpkins! Anyhow, I like this location because the farm has cute photo opportunities (tractor, old truck, hay maze, variety of pumpkins in all shapes, colors and sizes). I enjoyed that the farm did not have jumpers, and craziness. The pumpkin patch felt like an actual farm. Great place to come for some photos with your kiddos or even "couple" photos.

Support your local farmers! Sergio is so nice, such a pleasure to visit with, and helpful about the area to this traveling market shopper.

Infinity and Lilo among the pumpkins!

Beautiful Organic Pumpkins!! They have a great selection of gourds, a corn maze, and lots of hay bales to explore. It is great fun for the whole family, even our dogs (and cat)! We drove up and asked first if dogs were allowed. The guy in charge was super friendly and more than happy to welcome our furry family! We spent about an hour walking about the pumpkins, taking pictures, and picking out some pumpkins. It's also great that the pumpkins were organic and supporting a local family farm! Thank you so much for being accommodating and friendly. Great customer service too :)

We got one Med/large size, one perfect kid size and three mini pumpkins for $20. Kids had fun with the wheelbarrow and maze. Awesome!

Great selection with one week until Halloween.

Great patch with a corn maze, creatively arranged pumpkins, hay stacks and wheel barrows. Pumpkins were reasonable for patch prices. I am so glad to see they are an organic farm and can't wait to come back for their farm stand produce.

CJ got to pick a pumpkin!

So on our way back home we went here and it was pretty cool. I didn't realize how close Morgan Hill was to the Cupertino/San Jose area (~30 miles or less). It was a great experience. The entrance to the parking lot is very clear but it's only one way so if you see parking just park there. I saw cars park on the highway road because it was full. First you check in to pay admission for adults ( kids under 4 feet are free) then they hand you the bucket and your on your way. It was a bit muddy because of the rain the past few days so make sure to wear shoes you don't care about. We were a bit lost as to where we were allowed to pull but we found our footing and it was a fun hour experience. You can eat the cherries as you pick. They don't care. There's a lot of cherries at the bottom of the tree as well as on top for the kids to pick. But because of the weather and rain I saw more baby cherries or cherries that weren't ready to ripe yet. Maybe next weekend it will be better. When you check out, they weigh it and bag it in a plastic bag for you. Morgan Hill downtown is very close to here so you could go there for lunch or walk around to complete your Morgan Hill experience but you'll probably have to make a UTURN to get there. Check online for hours!

While we didn't see it listed on the menu board, when my wife asked the order taker, she knew exactly what we wanted and told her that the wait would be 15 minutes as they made them to order. OMG, it was beautiful! Loaded with fresh strawberries and just enough glaze to bind it, the glaze did not overwhelm the taste of the strawberries. You can't really slice it as created. Instead, you pick off some of the fruit on top until it's down to a manageable height and then we use a large spoon to parse it out. Whipped cream? Ice cream? Both would be excellent accompaniments to be sure, but we used neither.

The berries are super fresh and sweet! I feel like it's the perfect summer fruit. The darker they are, the sweeter they are but i also really like the slight tartness that the just ripe ones have as well. I picked up 2 pounds on my first go but my family and I ate it all within 3 days so I had to go back to pick up 5 more pounds. I recommend texting or calling before you go to make sure they're open as they do sell out quickly. I didn't try the u-pick as I didn't have time but I would like to try next year!

We were saying we'd like to come back again with the rest of our family since the kids enjoyed it! We were told the golf cart will do their rounds to drop and pick people up. However, since the cart wasn't there yet & we needed to use the restroom close by, we decided to just walk to the restroom. And we can see the front from there so we decided we would just walk back after. A car was coming so I told my daughter to move in so the car can pass. *HONK HONK* as if we were running. She rolls down the window and starts giving us a huge attitude about how we are not suppose to be walking around "Stay right there!" She was so completely rude I knew it had to be none other than the owner because everyone else we encountered were so kind! Literally a family with small children just walking didn't need to be honked at. We were already stopped when she approached so she could have just rolled her window down and spoke to us nicely. We didn't know there was a rule of no walking or we would have been more than happy to obligated. She should definitely have a staff member roaming the grounds instead of herself because she definitely cannot control her bad attitude and should not be out in the wild.

Shaded by fruit trees, about 20 of us sat at a long table decorated with fresh-cut ranunculus flowers and learned to paint tulips (very badly in my case!) from a local artist. It was a really sweet way to spend a couple of hours and remember back when orchards were the life blood of the Santa Clara Valley.
