Over 5 years ago I left a 5 star review and Dr Goldman was my doctor. Since she left several years ago I've been through other doctors the most recent being the worst. We have been seeing Dr Anand for years now and today was one of the worst experiences yet. Actually several experiences have been horrible. Like two years ago when she sent me to see a Nefrologist. A kidney doctor. Now, I have regular appointments about every 4 months with Dr Anand. I got in to see the kidney doctor very quickly. Lo and behold I have stage 4 kidney disease. I want to know what the heck happened to stage 2 and 3? Why not wait until I need dialysis? Pffft! The only reason we keep going here is we never have to wait for the scheduled appointment time. That's in the past. Today I sat in the doctor's room waiting for my 30 minute annual exam for 23 minutes. She spent 8 minutes with me then drug me out to the counter. I'm like wait is my appointment over? She kept telling me no. Then she went into her office and shut the door. Came out in some minutes with my referral. I had a breast biopsy a month ago. I was told by SDMI that the results would be back in about a week. After a week I called Dr Anand because I heard nothing. In fact I called 4 times and left messages because nobody answers the phone anymore. I repeated name, dob, phone number and purpose of call twice during each call. No call was ever returned! When I inquired today why was this happening they all came up with the new phone system excuse. So as she's pushing me out the door I'm asking what about my biopsy results. She tried to tell me that she told me they were normal. I might be getting old but I'm not deaf or crazy. This appointment was very bad. Very rushed and I don't even know the results of my blood work. Needless to say we are in search of a new primary care doctor. We have 5 months to find one. We're done here before they kill us. read more

I used to go to this clinic years ago. Dr. Leslie Jacobs was great but she quit seeing most patients. Anyway, I decided to return to the practice and the only doc available was Dr Anand. A lovely person but in my opinion ( imo) not the best doctor. Again, imo, this doc appeared disorganized and as far as I am aware, she never followed through to order the CT that she suggested. Granted, I could have followed up on the CT but should not need to do so. In summation, I do not recommend this practice or doctor Anand due to the lack of quality care that I received . I have moved on. You should probably consider another practice too. read more

I enjoyed my appointment with Dr. Majors the only time I've been able to go about a year and a half ago. Since then it's been impossible to get an appointment. I had a follow up that they canceled on me because of COVID restrictions. And the 2 other times I've tried to make an appointment I've been given options weeks out. Today when I called I was told I could schedule a telahealth apt in mid-September. When I asked if other doctors were available, I was told they can't transfer patients to other doctors and then was recommended to go to a walk in clinic. Clearly the front desk staff has no idea what they are doing and even once them realized they had skipped over me several times they did absolutely nothing about it and I continued to wait. Several of the doctors here are listed as part of my employer's insurance plan and we've been looking for new PCPs for several of our employees who are new to the area. I have called three times now to attempt to schedule an appointment, but was unable to to connect with anyone nor have I heard back. Even if all the doctors here are too busy to accept new patients, a courtesy return call should be the most basic expectation. Bottom line is I wouldn't trust the doctors that work at an organization like this. read more

Personally,I like Dr. shoemaker,but unfortunately the new owners care only for the bottom line,their profit. My wait time in the office gets longer each time and my time with the doctor shorter than in and out burgers. my last visit was just over 5 minutes. I have been a patient here for many years, they have gone through a few doctors, never had an issue with their staff however the office manager and billing is another story. A simple wellness appt was later billed incorrectly leaving me with a co/pay. After a year of going back and forth with the office manager telling me he would look into correcting the issue and after several phone calls with the same response, I receive the bill from a collection agency. I paid as it was a small amount. Frustrating because you want to trust the line of communication with your Medical facility, this once was an efficient facility sad to say it no longer is. read more

This is seriously one of the worst run medical groups I have experienced. Good luck trying to get an appointment made to see your Doctor and good luck actually seeing your Doctor if they don't cancel on you. Last year I had made an appointment in July for a Sept visit with Dr Goldman. A couple days before, they called and said that they would have to reschedule my appointment to November. What is the point of having a Dr if you cant get in to see them? Monday I called to schedule an appointment because I was given a prescription from the ER and need to get a refill before I run out. First call they answered and then hung up. Second call I was put on hold for 10 minutes only to be told that their system was down. They took my name and number to call back. I am still waiting...... Time to find a group that actually cares about people and get the proper care from a good Doctor. read more

I've been seeing doctor Beth Goldman since she arrived at Jacobs Medical. At my age, I'm absolutely finished with offices making me wait hours for a scheduled appointment. I will wait 15 to 30 minutes then I go to the desk and complain then I usually leave and don't go back. I can attest to the promptness of Dr Goldman. I have never waited more than 10 minutes and usually it's less than 5. Last week they took us early. To me this signifies respect for patients. I have nothing but nice things to say about this medical office. Everyone has always been nice and respectful. Some people complained about the phone system, I've never experienced this. I've never had any billing problems. Dr. Goldman is very thorough and listens to what I have to say. She adjusts or prescribes my medications as needed. She makes sure I'm current on required procedures such as my mammogram, etc. I know she's on a tight schedule mandated by the practice so I try to write down what I want to discuss before I arrive. I feel respected so I in turn try to respect her time and attempt not to rattle on. I even convinced my husband to see her too because I was really tired of hearing him complain about his 2 to 3 hour waits for his doctors appointments. Recently we've been scheduling our appointments together, back to back. I really like that she does this because my husband is clueless about his health. Another reason, if he doesn't use all his time, then I can take it. read more

I've been going to Dr. Shoemaker for 15+ years and the service here since they switched to Valley Health is terrible. I have something major going on in my body and his office doesn't care. It took me three weeks to get an appointment, and only by daily calling was I able to get in sooner and snag a cancellation. Then it took almost a full week for him to call me back with my ultrasound results and now almost a week later they still haven't sent in the paperwork for my biopsy, despite him saying they'd send it in that day and again, me calling every day and the only people that I'm able to get a hold of is the call center. There is no care here. It's a terrible experience. While Dr. Shoemaker is personally a great doctor, the level of care at his practice is non-existent. read more

I originally started with Dr. Shoemaker. He was good in the beginning (about 4-5 years ago) and decided to laugh at everything I was concerned about. He came in the room every day with, what seemed to be like, a ton of stress on his shoulders and annoyed at listening to issues I may be having. His assistant was great. I switched to Loring Jacobs... first visit I told him I had throat issues and he wrote me 4 prescriptions WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT MY THROAT OR ANYTHING, no joke. Second visit, I was concerned about a specific blood work reading, he said I should see a specialist, his assistant is very snobby and pushy, rude and controlling. She pushed me to get blood work done when I tried to explain certain situations to her. I got my blood test back and got NO CALL from them, I left them 2 messages and 4 weeks later I got a call back to tell me a diagnosis which you can't make a diagnosis over this certain blood test. I was also told that they can't send a referral to the specialist because they can't get ahold of them that I would have to run there and deliver it by paper and push them to get me in... (what kind of doctors office is that). I am here to say I will never go back here and I recommend anyone looking for a quality doctor to look elsewhere. I struggled a long time to find a decent PCP and Dr Leslie Jacobs is beyond decent, she's amazing. I can get an appointment in a timely matter and she is rarely ever running late, so I can always estimate how long the visit is going to take. I have even visited her on an hour long lunch break. I appreciate how Dr Leslie listens and cares and does what she believes is best for me! I don't feel like she just subscribes me something and pushes me away. I know I can trust her and I know I can depend on her. She truly takes care of me! My husband also goes to her brother, Dr Loring Jacobs, and he appreciates and trusts him as well. The doctors are great. BUT, today my husband checks in for a regular doctor appointment. He gives the receptionist his credit card for a $10-30 copay. 2 minutes later he gets this email saying his card was charged for $104,000! Insane. How careless could you be to attempt to draft that amount on someone's card? It would've been a serious issue if he had that much credit available or if it had been a debit card used! That type of carelessness is not okay. My tip: definitely bringing exact cash for your copay and don't trust receptionists that make this big of a mistake! I had my first in-person appointment with Dr. Major yesterday. It was an excellent experience, and Dr. Major is everything you'd want in a primary care doctor. She came recommended by a friend of mine, and I completely agree with the recommendation. I also give high marks to the lab staff, particularly the one who did a blood draw for me (and whose name unfortunately escapes me at the moment...sorry). The front office staff is fine, in my experience, with the exception of one particular check-in person who was fairly unpleasant. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. My wife and I found Loring Jacobs through the realtor that sold us our house in Dec 2011. We began seeing him Jan '12. For 10 yrs he was the best PCP we have ever had and we are seniors. Since Dec '21 and again this past week it is obvious he is not the great PCP we had 10 yrs ago. He seems to not care or something else is going on as he is not focused on his patients anymore. He does not seem to care and just brushes us off. He always insists on blood work every 6 mos. This time he did not even mention it. And his staff is horrible and has never been great but it is real bad now. When I went this past week there were very FEW cars in the parking lot. Usually it is packed. One person inside waiting. I see one physician they had, Goldman left and that is probably because patients are jumping ship because of the lack of care. My wife has found a new PCP and I found one also. Was really disappointed about my interactions with this office. Have I ever been there? NOPE. The effort it took to TRY and make an appointment was unbelievable. On March 12th I called and left a message to make a new patient appointment. No one ever called me back. I called again on March 19th and someone finally answered! Actual conversation: JMA staff: Scheduling Me: Hi, I'm calling to schedule a new patient appointment JMA staff: July? Me: ummmm, sure? Is that when you're scheduling? JMA staff: mmmm hmmm Me: ok, that should be fine JMA staff: What kind of insurance do you have? Me: "name of insurance given" JMA staff: hold on Me:.... Me:.... Me:.... multiple pick ups and placed back on hold. GET HUNG UP ON I call back and surprise, surprise no one is available to take my call. Now it's lunchtime! Yougottabekiddingme.....ugh. This is the person this office hired to be the FIRST PERSON you come into contact with. Apparently they don't need or want any new patients (just say that for crying out loud) if this is acceptable treatment for a new patient, I can't even imagine how they treat you once you're finally there. I can not say enough great things about Jacob's Medical Associates. My primary physician treats the person not just the illness. Dr. L. Jacobs was a physician for someone I know and they spoke glowingly about him so when I saw they took my insurance I thought to give it a try. Fast forward to nearly 10 years later and Dr. Jacobs has helped me navigate through to a more healthy me. I still have a way to go but he points me towards choices that make for far better outcomes otherwise. Another thing I really like about him is that he explains exactly what's going on and if he is prescribing something what it's for. I was talking to a co-worker about what a great doctor I have and when she asked me a who and I told her, she laughed and said that's my doctor too, isn't he the best? Oh and they have the testing lab co-located which is uber convenient for me, not sure if that's a big deal for anyone else but I dig it. Oh as far as the staff goes, they've been really good to me and also responsive, I don't really have any complaints there either as of yet. read more

Every time I go in, he remembers what I have going on and takes the time to speak to me about any issue I have and how to go about taking care of it. My wife and I have even received phone calls from Dr. Shoemaker at 8pm - 9pm, to follow up with some test that was done or to remind us to make an appointment to come see him. On our last visit. My husband a veteran and a commissioned officer was treated like a criminal. We have been patients of this facility for 7 years. He has packed his weapon into that office everytime we seen our doctor. This time was a awful experience. My husband was getting weighed in and the medical assistant saw his weapon and started freaking out. My husband stated he has his credentials and was an officer. She stated she had to get the office manager. He was coming down the hall yelling at my husband to leave the office. Made my husband feel embarrassed and humiliated. He turned to leave and walked past the front desk and told them not to bill our insurance. They should want an officer in there so if a true criminal came in to harm them that my husband or any other officer would be there to protect the innocent people. Dr. Shoemaker is an excellent doctor and I don't want to have to change my PCP but my insurance may force me too. He usually sees me on time, I have never been in the office for a visit for more than an hour. I don't have to wait long from the time I arrive to the time I am called back to be seen. His medical assistant is very nice and helpful. Dr. Shoemaker sits down with me and listens, he also explains things in an easy manner that I can understand. So as far as doctors are concerned I would definitely recommend this office. The offices only downfall however is the office staff at the back (the ones who answer the phones) they are horrible and unhelpful. They have no sense of customer service or trying to assist patients. They just want to be rude interrupt you and get you off of the phone. The front office staff when I go to the office is always very nice and helpful. It just the people they have answering the phones. Jacobs Medical Associates would be better off hiring new people who would be happy to answer phones and help people with their questions. read more

The staff lacks professionalism in all categories. Front and back staff are always gossiping loudly about other staff and private patient issues. It's like these people weren't trained in any aspect of health care. Most of them have their name tags turned around. Danielle W. has no shame in her attitude, that's for sure. I don't understand why I'm given an attitude for asking you to repeat yourself because you, and the other three women around you, are talking negatively about your office manager and it's difficult for me to hear you. That office manager must have some serious patience if this is the circus she's dealing with. Appointment line is difficult to get ahold of, but my call has been returned every time. Overall cleanliness is good. Doctors are average. Dr. Goldman is kind but to the point. My perception: they had an interest in money rather than an interest in helping those in need of quality care. Had a really good experience here. The place is a little tricky to find so leave early. Other than that the office was very nice and clean and the staff super polite. I did not wait for nearly as long as I am accustomed at other Dr. offices. The doctor took her time and I did not feel rushed to leave.....and oh, that wall art!!! Wow, making the staff stare at that all day.... 1. Nurses who were given requests and empty bottles of prescriptions and I needed to have refilled were never called in and never given to the DR. 2. Endless online check ins and if they cancel your appointment you get sent another one. 3. Nurses who don't read the information and have no clue when your suppose to have your next appointment. 4. Staff demanding your payment before you go in... ok that's the nasty Medical field in Las Vegas, and yet staff who never follows up on your request. 5. Staff who comes in to give you a shot writes nothing down.... good luck if they remember what they are suppose to do when they go back to their desk. 6. If you want a call back- give them a horrible review- which will be honest, and you'll get called back by the practice manager. She is trying but it seems like the staff there is stuck in their ways. If your Dr. Leaves the practice.... just assume they won't see you anymore and tell you they won't give you your shot. read more

Every time we call to try to make an appointment they never answer and when they do they are rude and if we do leave a message they never call us back we have to keep on trying to get a hold of someone. And heads up, if one of you has one of the doctors here you better make sure that you take your whole family with you if you want them to be seen or you might be risking that they do not see any new patients even though they are your family members and you are already an established patient there. This is the first ever review I have written and unfortunately it is not a good one. I wanted to find a good Doctor for a PCP and thought I'd see Dr. Loring Jacobs as I remembered him from years ago when he first started practicing medicine. The first visit was a very good experience and he seemed like he really cared and that it would be a good fit for me. The second appointment was a tele-medicine phone visit as it was in the midst of the Covid-19 scare and it was only for a blood work question. My third appointment never happened. I tried to reschedule it but no way I could. I called the office 4 different days (5/20-5/29) and 10 times to try and get it rescheduled! First day was no answer for 4 calls, just ring and ring. Second day was 3 calls with one message left for the practice manager to call me back. No call from her. Third day was 2 calls and then got the Operator and she put me through to scheduling and it just rang and rang again. Fourth day I finally got a hold of a person (Espilleria (??) ) After I told her how hard it was to reach anyone, she became very argumentative and told me all kinds of reasons why that would have happened, and never got me rescheduled, only kept on with the excuses. I guess she wanted to argue that day. I got upset and asked for the practice manager to call me and she said she would have her do that. No call again from the practice manager. Two days before my appointment, I received a text to confirm it, so I immediately called the office again and got a person. I told them to cancel my appointment and she asked about rescheduling and I told her no, I would find another doctor. Dr. Jacobs would have been a superb doctor for me, I feel, but his office staff in general is a train wreck. When you can't get through, you cannot schedule appointments, or reschedule them. I can't say how much appreciation I have for Dr. Loring Jacob and his medical team. Not only do I get great medical care from Dr. Jacob and his nurse Tracy, but the office staff makes you feel like family. No matter how bad I feel these guys come to my rescue. From the front of house where Mel greets me and is knowledgeable about all my insurance questions, to the end of my appointment when Gina makes sure that I have everything I need, I know they really care. Even when they are super busy, Mel and Gina always find time to call me back. This is by far the best medical staff I've ever had. read more

Each appointment she follows up on the open items from the last appointment and is careful to check any abnormalities to make sure I stay on top health.
