So I've never left a review before but I'm a big reader of them. I was referred to Jacob by a trusted friend for some new construction plumbing. Some of the issues I had fall on me specifically not having a plumbing plan and not clearly reading text messages. I called Jacob and he came right out the next day and was extremely professional. It was a tricky job because of the lack of plumbing plan but we came up with a good game plan. He provided an estimated price range that fluctuated $300 dollars (that I read incorrectly my fault) and time frame for the job (4 days). What I didn't pick up on was that he was gonna charge me per day with an estimate dollar range per day which typically isn't something I prefer to do because of being burned before with guys dragging their feet to extend the work. His guys showed up first day late in the morning first day with that price range I mentioned earlier because of the distance traveled but if I'm paying per day should travel time be on the person paying if it's per day? Ok guys are nice enough and they start getting after it. My concrete guys are around doing something else and dig their trenches for them to make the job go quicker as I'm trying to thread the needle for a hopeful pour in a few days which didn't end up happening anyways. They finish for the day and promptly leave around 4pm working 6 hours. I get charged for the day on the highest part of the range he gave me after my concrete guys did the hardest labor part of the job. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Next day Jacob calls me earlier in the morning and offers to send the same crew to finish plus a 3rd guy to do a different part of the job but it's gonna cost several more hundred dollars so I can try to make my timeline.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I finally realize and clearly see I'm paying per day again that's my fault for not reading things adequately. So since I realize the situation Im in I clarify the exact amounts so there isnt more issues with my understanding.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I take the opportunity to ask him why he was going with the highest part of the estimate per day when my guys dug the trenches for them. He explains it's the approximate price for licensed plumbers. I'm feeling stuck at this time because it didn't make logical sense for me have a job started and having to call other plumbers when I'm already in the hole almost $2k so I made the decision to move forward with his assurance it would be completely that day. The crew shows up to my house at 11am (yes almost noon) they get after it then take an 1.5 hour lunch shortly after. The guys finish up and had about a 4 hour work day. They call me when it's done and I'll give it to them the work looked good and well done. One thing I'll add is I was responsible for paying materials too. So at the end of the day I wrote the check for over $4k dollars for 10 hours of work plus another $1k plus for materials. I'm a non confrontational guy there was no need to be spiteful to the workers. I texted Jacob later that I felt taken advantage of and that the job was WAY WAY WAY over priced. He said he felt bad I felt that way and offered to give me a better price next time but how am I gonna build confidence with someone when the first interaction I get racked over the coals like that I told him that I didn't know if he got the wrong feeling about me like I was wealthy or something I'm doing these upgrades on the house with money saved from my retirement. For full context they ran plumbing for 1 full bathroom, a half bathroom, and a gas line in new construction of a 30' x30' detached new construction garage. I don't think I'm a cheap ass and realize quality work has a certain price but holy this was an over reach. I hired them to replace a kitchen faucet and angle stop valves. I also had them replace my garbage disposal. Jordan is proficient at what he does. He took the care to remove the aerator from the faucet after installation and flushed the line before putting it in. It is a basic step but you would be surprised by how many plumbers are sloppy and not bother. For that, he got an A+ in my books. Pricing is not cheap but not out of line either. One thing though, I paid immediately after the work was completed and getting the receipt out of them took a bit of wrangling. I will wait for their invoice before paying in the future. I recently had my tankless water heater continuously flushing out water through the relief valve spout outside my house. I called as many plumbers as I could to see who could come ASAP to diagnose and resolve the issue. Exasperated, I found Josh Jacob's Drain Cleaning service through a Facebook Elk Grove Recommendation group. The moment we connected he showed his care and concern for not only my situation but, but my pocketbook. He advised me to call Rinnai and see if they could help me diagnose the issue. They wouldn't, but based off the description of the problem they believed it might be the relief valve needing to be replaced.
