Great job, 1 day turn around…read more Now, half way to work one morning at a red light the car started idling really rough, trying to kill. Had to keep revving it to keep it going. All the dash lights lighting up. The car guys at work say its most likely the MAF sensor. I changed that but still the same problem. Brought it to the shop. 3 days later they call me, they found the problem. On the manifold, theres a bolt that fell out creating an air leak. He says he noticed I have a new starter. Probably whoever changed the starter thought he needed to remove that bolt. I go to pick it up expecting no charges but he has a bill for me. I asked why, since he told me the guy that changed the starter probably did it. He asked who changed it and I told him they did. "Well, why didnt you have problems for 3 months?" "I thought that same thing. My best guess is he put it back but didnt tighten it. 3 months of vibration did it." "No way my guys did that. Nobody knows why that bolt fell out." Im not trying to say anything bad about their work, forgetting to tighten one bolt happens. I just didnt feel I should be charged for it. Business ethics. I've gone to R&S for car repairs many many times based on the recommendations of several male…read morefriends. Simply due to being a woman and not being taken seriously at any auto repair shop, I followed their suggestions and brought my '05 Ford Focus in for work. I was having serious issues with my brand new battery draining. It took me several visits to actually get the problem officially resolved--mostly due in part to the fact that the batteries I was buying from Autozone on N. Broad were all defective. I was informed "this kind of thing happens". I would say all in all it took me three different visits to R&S to rectify the matter, but I only paid once. The first two times were merely inspections that I wasn't charged for, and on the third trip I was charged for the labor to replace a deeply corroded battery lead. (The real problem!) A mere $40--in exchange for the headache I must have brought them I believe that to be fair. Also had work done here replacing a fan belt. Between the two brothers, I prefer to work with Sam. He's joyfully pleasant, upbeat and doesn't speak to you like you're some kind of retarded kid that's never operated a vehicle before. The receptionist is also very nice and really appreciates good handwriting--as she said when I handed her a personal check. "People don't spend the time these days with their penmanship. Yours is very nice." I don't care to work with Ray, who I perceive as the real-life version of Oscar the Grouch, just without the trash can which I assume is not too far away. He's grumpy, curt & generally seemingly growing tired with his work or tired with people. Either way 2 out 3 ain't bad. Quick repairs, decent pricing and informed throughout the process.

Long story short - they charged me 120 bucks for "running the codes and doing a diagnostic" even…read morethough another shop sent me there and had already told them what they thought. They didn't warn me they were going to charge to run codes. I asked about it, and the guy said "that's business bro, we have a sign by the door". Unprofessional move, won't be going back. I guess our definitions of good business are a bit different. Was also going to charge 135$ for an oil change. I went to Take 5 and got it done for half the price.
