I'm a 29yo, 5'7" male and pretty skinny, so even slim fit clothes are often a little baggy. After a particularly frustrating shopping trip I ended up searching on yelp and found Joanne. After discussing my needs, I decided to bring Joanne several pairs of pants and shirts for alterations, which she had done in no time. I like to dress nice for work, and I know I'm going to look so much better with well fitting clothes. It was also extremely convenient because we live right around the corner from each other! I was seen immediately when I walked in despite it being mid-day on a Saturday. The tailor clearly knew what he was doing and was able to suggest solutions to help fix all of the issues I was worried about. I was very impressed by how quickly and expertly he made the necessary pins, marks, and suggestions. When I picked up the dress they had me try it to see whether more modifications were needed. It looked great, however a few dark marks had appeared on the dress since I dropped it off. To fix this, they got it dry cleaned within a few days. Overall it was a great experience!

Ali Gültekin has been a tailor for decades, and his expertise has been perfect in all the work he has done for us. In addition to standard alterations, he has come up with solutions to some specific problems with pieces we brought in, for example fixing some small areas on a camel-hair coat where rough handling had removed the nap. You would never guess it to see the jacket after his repair. I believe he understands all there is to know about clothing, fabric, findings/accessories, and tailoring. It had 2 layers. They told me it would take 3 weeks. This brought me up until the day before the wedding. I started to get nervous and called to check in on my dress. (In their defense I shouldn't have waited so long) They told me to come in and it would be done. It was not finished when I got there. I went the next day and my mistake-I forgot to bring my shoes so I tried it on at home. They had only shortened 1 layer! I had to bring it in and have it remeasured and shortened. I was getting nervous as the wedding was approaching but they got it done. They did good work the second time, but I won't go back. I think they take on too much and it impedes their work and the organization of their place.
