Dr Heller is wonderful! She is wise, really understands animals and is so gifted in acupuncture and natural healing

After returning from a 10 day out of the country trip I discovered that my 15 year old sweet German shepherd had a huge abscess on one side of his hip. Since my regular vet would not do a zoom meet I discovered Dr. Heller here. She responded quickly, came to my house and examined Zolo, quickly got him on antibiotics, and meds for his loose stools. Yay! Abscess disappeared and with adjustments to his meds no more loose stools! We are working on doing acupuncture on him and it seems to be helping him. This is long overdue... Our 17 years young Pekingese' pup suffered a spinal injury 3 weeks ago and had lost the use of her back legs due to IVDD, a degenerative disease. Plus she had some sort of infection and her blood values were sky high. We know that, with treatment and rehabilitation, she can walk again so we searched out an acupuncturist. We found Dr Heller. She was able to fit us in the next day and, get this, SHE COME TO YOUR HOME. This keeps the patient very calm and relaxed. We started treatment last week to keep our girls muscle strength up and blood flowing in the back legs and tail. We've seen her tail move more each treatment and we know feels the needles in the back end. These kind of injuries take time to heal and Dr Heller is helping her with the treatment and giving us exercises to do, recommendations on supplements and harnesses to help keep our pet mobile while her injury heals. Dr Heller is very knowledgeable, caring and it's extremely convenient to get care for our pup. I would recommend her to anyone who loves their baby like a human baby. read more

Dr. Heller is the best: kind, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. My 17 year Labrador has been receiving acupuncture from her for 18 months. The difference in his gait and ability to keep on moving is astounding. It is hard to believe he is so old when he is trotting along on a walk. No placebo effect with animals. My guy is stiff as a little old man before his treatment; after his treatment and a good nap, he is running through the park. Dr. Heller comes to our house every other week. It is so worth it to make him comfortable and active and happy as long as possible. Although her main focus with us is acupuncture, she has prescribed medicine and treatments for other ailments and conditions he has. I have been seeing Dr. Heller for about a year for acupuncture for Sophie my Australian Shepherd who has osteoarthritis, and I feel that the treatments have really helped her for her condition. I found Dr. Heller via Yelp. First time using her on my foster Tigger, he was in bad shape from just being dumped & rescued from the Carson Animal Shelter. He had Cushing's disease, pneumonia, skin infection, was over weight and a displaced hip joint (probably from being hit by a car). She has come to help him once a week and he is now taking walks about 1/2 mile and doing so much better. She is great with animals and so flexible with her time. read more

Dr. Heller is a wonderful animal lover who knows a lot about nutrition and wellness. She also made me feel very comfortable and enjoyed having her in my home. I am not at all impressed with Jacqueline Heller. Based on my personal experience, I feel that she is an extremely inconsiderate person.

Dr. Heller is so wonderful- She has done 3 acupuncture sessions on my dog, Bella, over the past 3 months & I definitely see a difference. Initially, when we had our first appointment with Dr. Heller, Bella had one of her severe knee/hip pain episodes. I wanted to seek something natural & holistic because I'm not considering surgery on my 12 year old dog. When Dr. Heller was examining Bella, she yelped & cried so much because she was in THAT much pain. Poor baby. I was a little wary about Bella reacting to the needles but she did so well! It's almost like she knew this was going to help her so she remained calm. That & I was feeding her favorite snack, cucumbers, after every needle Dr. Heller placed. Later that night, Bella was super relaxed & slept well. Fastfoward to our third treatment - now that Bella's pain in her knees/hips has reduced, she's more alert & was a little more jumpy when Dr. Heller places the needles. Regardless, Dr. Heller tries her hardest to get all of them in. Per usual, Bella relaxed very well after her session. The next morning, Bella was so hyper! I haven't seen her run around that fast in a long while. I'll admit, I even had a hard time catching her :-P I'll say she was very happy & feeling like a young puppy again! Dr. Jackie Heller is an outstanding veterinarian with a warm and caring manner with both pets and their respective humans. During the course of her life and then when she needed a tremendous amount of care toward the end, our beloved Boxer dog Mugsy received amazing care from Dr. Heller. She always listened with patience and concern, answered all our questions, and worked to make sure we understood what she believed to be the best course of treatment for our fur baby. My Yorkie, Bridget, and I first met Dr. Heller in 2007. Bridget was two-years old and very sick from Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis. The Vet caring for her had tried "everything" to stabilize her. But, her little body wasn't responding. She had gone from 4lbs to 3lbs, in three days. Then, my Yorkie's personal angel entered her life. Our regular Vet was out of town. And, Dr. Heller was handling his patients. Within Dr. Heller's first five minutes with Bridget, she had reviewed all the test results, Bridget's medical history, and all prior treatments. Her expertise in Wholistic approaches gave her the advantage of assessing all the information from a completely different point-of-view. Dr. Heller implemented numerous changes which had Bridget improving almost immediately. The biggest long-term adjustment was feeding Bridget only raw, organic food. Bridget's medical issues will always be with her. But, Dr. Heller created a protocol for Bridget that has allowed her to have a fairly normal doggie life. Last summer our German Shepherd had three pinched nerves from a boating trip. It was so bad, he couldn't walk for about a month. The other veterinarians we saw wanted to put him on medication for the rest of his life and told us he basically wouldn't recover. We are so grateful that we found Dr. Jackie and she's our vet! Others we met with weren't our style. We wanted someone who will take a holistic and natural approach with our dog whenever possible (especially with diet), as well as educate us on the best/healthiest way to raise a puppy! She'll also use more traditional methods when/if it's needed, which we appreciate. We have a vizsla puppy who's already had a few issues including GI problems and skin allergies, and Jackie's been so attentive and helpful in making sure this little guy stays well. Unlike other vets, she does NOT go straight to using meds, drugs and chemical-laden products as the solution - instead, she wants to fix the underlying issue(s) as safely as possible for the dog's wellbeing now and for the future. We're working on his diet and keeping it as whole-food based as possible, and looking to safer alternative methods to give him relief, and it's working out sooo well. Best of all, she makes house calls, has great availability, is super kind and friendly, makes sure we are totally involved with the decisions made for him, and that our opinions matter.
