The buffet offerings is a long line of dishes, so long that there's no way to see everything they have to offer before making a decision. I was only able to capture a small portion on video because I was being crowded by other ppl. There's definitely no time to ask questions and there are no labels saying what the various dishes were. Then when I thought it was my turn, the rude lady started helping the woman after me. Others were helping the ones that chose to not stand and wait but rather just walk up. When a young lady took pity and helped me, I just ordered the chicken soup because I was over the whole chaotic situation. If I wasn't so hungry I would have just left. Then waiting to pay I saw my love, Pernil, at the front of the line near the register. I would have loved to try it but knew I wouldn't get help plus I was over this place. My friend was over it too and just didn't order anything. Soup came with rice. It was fine but nothing to make me come back. My food was automatically packed to go, but I sat at a booth to eat. There are enough booths and tables there to eat, but I don't think they offer table service, at least on this day they didn't seem to. I just didn't enjoy the vibe here. Some of the workers are intense, rude, and clearly dont like their job. I like good customer service and I hate being rushed but the culture here just is what it is.

Personally, I love the picadera, though I've also tried the pernil and baked chicken. Pair it with yuca for the win. Nothing fancy, but full of flavor and that authentic Caribbean flair. You can certainly see they serve a lot of food, and you can see the combo deals from the outside looking in as well. That being said, anyone who's never been in here before might get a little confused on what to order, and I still had some confusion on how to order food even after I had made a decision. Also, being that it is on the corner that separates West Main from Willow, trying to get any kind of parking spot poses an inherent risk. Therefore, the only people I would really recommend try to come here would be people who either already live in Waterbury or are used to inner-city environments from similar cities. They do have another location on East Main if you are uncomfortable coming to this location, but at least here you can't really miss it. What I will say in this restaurant's favor is that the portions sizes are huge, the food comes out hot, and the combo deals comes with a 2-liter bottle of soda. Example of this includes what I got today, which was their BBQ rib Combo, where I did white rice and chose the Fanta Orange for my soda. My combo comes with a container of baked beans, the aforementioned rice and soda, and also a salad that comes with a dressing. So for my thoughts, let's start with the positive: the rice. Rice was cooked to a good temperature. Wasn't crunchy or mushy. The container was also enough that I will have enough for at least a few days. Maybe even the better part of the next week. The ribs were alright. They weren't outstanding ribs, but they'll get the job done if you need some cheaper, smaller ribs. You can definitely get better ribs if you go to an authentic BBQ spot, and I would still eat Hindsight's ribs, or maybe even the ones from Texas Roadhouse, over this any day of the week, but in a pinch I could eat these ribs again. I was not a fan of the beans. Now, I never was big into eating baked beans to begin with, so I know I am not the most qualified to talk about this. That being said, my time in Yelp has introduced me to new dishes I otherwise would never choose, and there have been other restaurants who have introduced me to a new dish and have won me over to that dish. In the 2020's alone, I have taken likings to Crab Rangoons, Lomo Saltados, dim sum, and even bubble teas. Unfortunately for this location, the beans tasted like they were even more heavily processed than Bush's baked beans. If I were trying find good baked beans, then I would need to keep looking. I do like the convenience of this place and the portion sizes. That said, if I do order from here again, I would need to change how I place my orders a slight bit to see what else I can try.

Service was great. At first there's was only one person but she did a great job serving everyone in a timely manner. It did take a while to get the food but I can understand why. Everything we ordered had to be made fresh and the food quality and presentation made it all worth it. We had seafood Paella cooked to perfection the seafood was fresh. churrasco was tender and juicy and yuca fries were crispier than I've ever had. The Mofongo trio was a delight of flavors. One of my coworkers and I ordered from the counter in front of the restaurant which is where they had hot foods to go . Different choices to choose from besides ordering from the menu. I ordered Carne Guisada with a side of white rice and sweet plantains. And my coworker ordered Bistec Salteado con Arroz con Gandules and sweet Plantains. My dish was very flavorful with big portions and price for lunch was pretty good too. Gratitude was already included in our check since it was a group of 7 of us. I definitely left the plate clean! Very satisfied. Service was very good too! Other in the table had empanadas, plantain chips with salsa, Mofongo, a burger.. a variety of orders and food and we were all happy! It's a lovely place ! If you are in the area definitely grab food to go if you want to try or dine in and check out their lively space! Menu isn't huge but has great options!

There were so many options, including goat, oxtail, pigs feet and more popular proteins like pernil, chicken and beef. My fiance and I decided to share a large plate and I'm so glad we decided to share because the portion was HUGE!! We got yellow rice, black beans, stewed chicken, pernil and maduros all piled high on a plate. We also got a bottle of water and a tamarind Jarritos soda. They had a ton of different bottled beverages and a few desserts options too. They also have many made to order menu items, including Mofongo. The food was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. Everything was cooked to perfection. We also loved their housemade jalapeno hot sauce. The staff was friendly and there were a few tables if you prefer to dine in. I can't recommend Angel's enough!

The inside of the restaurant is decently sized, clean, and even has a space where you can host a DJ, which is a nice touch. There was a slight language barrier, but it wasn't a big issue. I waited about 5-10 minutes for my to-go order since the hostess/server was the only one working outside of the kitchen staff. I ordered the MOFONGO MIXTO (Mixed Mofongo), which is crispy green plantains mashed with garlic and olive oil, paired with chicharrón, chicken, or cheese. It was solid--rich, tasty, and especially delicious with the salsa blanco, which was creamy and garlicky. That sauce was a first for me, and I loved it! While I've had mofongo that included rice and beans elsewhere, this version stood on its own nicely. A couple of notes: parking is a bit challenging, and I'd recommend placing your order through an app to help navigate any potential language barriers. Overall, a good experience, and I'd definitely give it another shot!

It is a family run establishment and having just opened, the place is super clean and super modern. There is a good amount of seating, so they can accommodate a large group easily. The chivo guisado was extremely juicy and the meat was so tender - falling off the bone. The pico pollo was great too and very well seasoned. Portions sizes were generous with very reasonable prices too. The staff are very friendly too. It's a nice place to come and enjoy some authentic Dominican food with some bottles of Presidente or cocktails. I recommend giving them a try. You will not be disappointed.
