The food here was SO GOOD. The portions were generous. Food was seasoned perfectly, and the meats we chose were very tender. I had brown rice w oxtail my friend had white rice w red beans and stewed pork(pernil guisado) we also shared chicharrón and empanada. The morir soñando was really good too. Overall I have no complaints. The size small plate could feed two people! Prices are reasonable as well. Definately give it a try. If im in the area I would absolutely make a stop here.

Outstanding!!! Authentic Puerto Rican food in Catskill! Amazing eats at great prices! Menu changés a bit day to day - be sure to try the mofongo ... takes a bit longer as it is made to order but it is worth the wait!!

a standby! I've gotten most everything here except I'm still waiting to try the mofongo. it's a great take away spot but also pleasant to eat inside. everything is done pretty well... chicken and pork are always cooked to texture perfection. the oxtail was good with enough meat and not all gelatinous cartilage like in places I've had prior. sometimes it's a little unclear how much can go on a plate versus charged as a side as has happened to me when getting plantains. the price is decent and the selection is large. I can't eat here all the time because of the high salt content but I definitely enjoy it around once a week when eating out. don't miss out on the condiments in the drink/dessert fridge!

The menu is not the most useful thing, let's get that out of the way. Just go in there. The offerings change and I just go in and ask what the food is. A small is PLENTY because they load it up with rice, but bang-for-your-buck-wise the large is the way to go. The empanadas aren't over full, but delicious for the cost. The portions are generous, the staff is friendly, there are a couple tables inside, and some prepackaged (looks like) desserts or sides in the fridge with sodas. I've yet to be disappointed or hungry when I'm done - trust me though, skip the menu, go in and ask for whatever looks good to you. Absolute gem in Catskill.

Great little restaurant with a staff that treats you as part of the family. Rice, beans and 5 kinds of meat. Portions are not small.

You first choose your size: either the medium, which will run you between $8-10, or the large size for $11.50-13.50. I got the medium stewed chicken with yellow rice. They filled it to the brim and it was $10 - you cannot beat that! It was absolutely delicious. I got a bottle of water too and sat in their comfortable dining room. They had several different protein options: salmon, pernil (pork), stewed beef and more. There's definitely something for everyone. Do yourself a favor and stop in!

When I looked up their address, Apple Maps stated that the restaurant was closed today (Sunday, August 18th, 2024). So, I searched for the next best option, and Yelp suggested a restaurant in Crossgates Mall, Albany. Listed currently as Latino's Cuisine on Yelp is actually Lo Nuestro's 2nd restaurant! Formerly known as Latino's cuisine, the owners of Lo Nuestro has expanded their family owned restaurants and now occupies this restaurant and space in Crossgates Mall as their 2nd restaurant. Crossgates is a huge mall, so I used the directory map to find the exact location of the restaurant. It was the same restaurant my friend recommended! Lo Nuestro's SECOND location is located upstairs in Crossgates Mall, next to Pandora Jewelry and in front of the "Going, Going, Gone" Dick's Sporting Goods clearance store. If you're trying to avoid the mall and a lot of walking, you can park as close as possible to Going, Going, Gone and then go upstairs. Lo Nuestro is on the right-hand side next to it. As soon as I walked in, the food alone made me want to try everything pollo. There was a line of about five other customers ahead of me, Spanish music blasting in the restaurant a few tables and booths for friends and family to dine in. A dessert case with a variety of desserts and all the food you order is behind the counter in steam table pans. I ordered a large stew chicken (which they didn't have much left of), and I see why! (It tastes really good and was exactly what I was looking for). I asked the pleasant and English-speaking young lady (Franchesca) if she could give me small portions of both types of their chicken so I could try a little of both after she apologized for the near empty pan of stew chicken, and she kindly gave me small portions of each in my large order. Both were so good! I also did the same with the tuna pasta salad and the potato salad. While I've had better-tasting potato salad, (needed more seasoning or salt and less mayonnaise) it's still edible and delicious. (At the time of this writing, I hadn't tried the tuna pasta salad yet.) Their passion fruit juice is a little on the too sweet side for me but still great tasting. Nothing a shot of lemon juice wouldn't fix. At my grown age and being Jamaican , I'm just now starting to appreciate why everyone eats and asks for plantains, and the sweet plantains here are actually good. Would I come back like the young lady working the counter encouraged? Absolutely. She mentioned they are going to fix their listing on Apple, Google, and Yelp because they own both restaurants located in Crossgates Mall and on Central Avenue in Albany. This review is for the Crossgates Mall location. I had a pleasant experience, and the food did what it needed to do. I ate both potato salad and the tuna Mac salad after editing and now I am back to give an update, I enjoyed BOTH salads and I wished I had more. I licked the salad container clean. Don't judge me.

Too much rice in every plate and not enough beans though. I really do t know if during lunch time all that food was freshly cooked and juicy and just got dried up by dinner time.
