Like Mexican restaurants, Chinese restaurants have become somewhat commonplace in most Arkansas towns of a particular size. Since I happen to love pretty much all Asian foods, I say "we can always use more." I just wish we had a little bit more Southeast Asian fair, not to mention Indian food, but that would be another review. The Chinese buffet seems to be the most common incarnation, which also happens to be my least favorite. The goal of such buffets seems to be catering to the least common denominator. Call me a snob, but I'm not one to be enthralled with simply adding a bunch of salt and fat to please the majority of wide-bodies that frequent such places. One of the things that you can use to distinguish such establishments is the quality of their soups. Is it just warm water loaded with salt and MSG, or does it truly have a rich flavor of multiple components? Very few buffets will pass that test, unless of course the only place you've had such soup is a Chinese buffet. I started going to Jade China in the very early 90's when I was a teacher in the area. I went there because my students were working the front. I became enthralled not only with the food but the fact that the owner was Chinese, the cooks were all Mexicans, and my country kids were working the front. It gave me hope that Conway would someday become a cosmopolitan city. I'm still waiting for that to happen, but I'm proud to report that Jade China hasn't changed that much at all, except for the fact that the new Asian owners spend a great deal of time in the front along with the country kids. The Mexicans are still in the back, and I don't believe the recipes have changed one bit in almost 20 years. Jade China is another one of those rare places where I found one thing I absolutely loved, and I haven't ordered anything else since. That would be Family Style Bean Curd. I'm not a tree hugger or PETA type or anything like that, but the way those people kick the fried tofu, there's no reason to go back to meat ever (except for the fact that Whole Hog is not too far away). The Family Style Bean Curd is a wonderful meal. It's a little on the spicy side, but if you're OK with that, I'm sure you'll find it to soon be to one of your new favorites. The interior is less than desirable, which doesn't seem to phase the majority of folks that order take-out. I myself want to have the full experience of the restaurant, so I always eat in, which in the 90's meant I was eating at Jade China almost twice a week. This continues to be a very busy restaurant, which speaks to the quality of all offerings on the menu. My only recommendation would be, whether you decided to eat in or take out, try the Bean Curd--not to be missed. read more

About every two weeks I get that urge to dibble my taste buds in Chinese food. I was recommended this place by my aunt who has a knack for finding the best restaurants. I always order the fried rice and sesame chicken and without fail it is the best in town. I love the hearty helpings! It usually leaves me with enough food for leftovers for two days! After discovering this place a few months back, I have yet to eat at another Chinese place. I feel like I would betray this cozy little place and from that day forward my chicken might not be as good. I recommend this place to everyone. HUGE portions for money...we get dinner and lunch the next day. Shrimp fried rice can feed 4, I swear. No buffet needed...they hook you up in one portion. Lo mein is excellent with huge, tasty veggies cooked in with noodles. My fav is Kung pow shrimp(spicy). Can't go wrong With anything. Small dining area, so we usually order it to go but we've sat inside as well many times. Take cash...NO CARDS accepted. Well worth the stop by the ATM. read more

I've been eating here since college. I order the Kung Po shrimp with double shrimp, extra peanuts, extra garlic, and extra spicy. Amazing! Goes very well with the Crab Rangoon! Ownership has changed over the years but the food remains the same. Affordable and tasty!!! read more

LOVE Jade China. Love the people who work there, love the portions, love the taste! But you more than likely wanna take it home, the restaurant itself isn't much to talk about... and I wish they would take debit cards, but sometimes I think they just make up the prices lol - Oh, that'll be ten dollars even. I got the chicken lo mein and egg roll. The lo mein was great, full of flavor and a huge portion. The egg roll had good flavor but it was very greasy. My husband and I ordered house fried rice tonight. The rice was hard, and it tasted old. I called to let them know. The owner told me that no one else has complained, and the rice was not old. I insisted to tell her that I was not satisfied with this rice tonight, she stated, well it's the same cook, so I don't know what to tell you. She was very rude. I really like the food here, and I like how fast it can be ready. The only thing I do not like is the fact that they do not have a credit/debit card machine. It is a pain to have to withdraw cash if you don't have any with you and the one time I tried to write a check, I was asked for my address, my DOB, my phone number, my DL number, and my SS number, which in my opinion, is too much personal information for me to give out just write a $9 check. I refused to give that much information and left to get cash and then returned for my food. They need to join this century and invest in a credit/debit card machine, or at the very least, when you call to place your order, tell you on the phone that they only accept cash. read more

Been a customer for 20 years and today Jade China just lost my business. Just tried to order house fried rice with the shrimp on the side because I have one that's allergic to seafood. Her response.. We don't do on the side. My response.. Ma'am you can't just put those 3 little shrimp in a separate container? Her response.. We will put it in the corner. My response... No ma'am... Her food cannot be in the same container as seafood... She is allergic. Her response...no we will just do no shrimp. My response... No, we just won't order and take our business elsewhere...
