In response to my review, Jennifer Parks of Jade Star writes, "we believe this review may not be from an actual patient of our clinic." Let it sink in. They waited more than a year to respond to my review, and at this point, they can't figure out who I am, so they are essentially accusing me of deceit. Jennifer Parks is so dense that she can't comprehend how normal and unremarkable it might be for a woman to be known by more than one name, and to use one of her names for her banking and another of her names for social media. It's a completely legitimate thing that women do all the time. What, does Jennifer Parks want women to bring their birth certificates and their wedding certificates and other documentation to prove who they are before she will accept a yelp review of her business as valid, like Republicans want women to do before they can vote? After all, one of your practitioners goes by both Lily and Susan. Does that mean she's not an actual staff member of Jade Star Acupuncture? Why and how would I make up the sorts of details provided in my 2024 review? Was it or was it not standard practice in the first half of 2024 for your practitioners to step out of the room at the beginning of session, to give the patient a few moments of privacy to disrobe as necessary and get settled on the table? Have you asked all the practitioners who worked for you in the first half of 2024 if they ever demanded that a client put her hair in a ponytail before she would provide a treatment? Think about what this says about Jade Star Acupuncture, about their recording keeping, about their attention to client feedback, and about their ethics. Jennifer Parks, shame on you for trying to weasel out of my thoroughly honest and legitimate review of your crappy business. Unless you're willing to return a significant portion of the $812 total I paid you for my initial session and 11 sessions thereafter, I have no interest in contacting you. read more

I had horrible back nerve pain on Sunday and called that morning during business hours. I understand they close early on Sundays so I didn't expect a call back that day. Monday, no call, so I called and left a 2nd message that day. It is now Wednesday morning and no one has bothered to call me back. They have a prompt that rings through for a worker again, but that didn't go through either time. Either they are closed or have bad management In place. A shame because both my wife and I have used them in the past with good results. 1star for very poor customer service/ follow through. read more

After suffering from chronic knee and shoulder pain I decided to try out acupuncture and I am hooked! The technician made sure I was at ease since it was my first time having acupuncture and it eased my pain on a short term basis so it's recommend to have several sessions. I'm not a fan of needles so as long as I close my eyes during the procedure, I did well. A couple of pin pricks here and there, no bruising and I felt immediate relief. The session lasts an hour and it's recommended to have a full stomach prior to your appointment. The best part is veterans are fully covered for 12 sessions as long as they received an approved referral from your respective VA. The only downside is the referral sessions are only valid for 60 days, so depending if you need additional sessions after the 60 days to contact your primary care provider at the VA to request another referral. Other than that, there's ample parking. The place is wheelchair accessible, just park on the back for easy access. Highly recommend especially if you're looking for a holistic way to pain management. read more

I had used acupuncture before and found it helpful to me. Even though Jade Acupuncture is not close to where I live, I thought they would be a good fit for me. It's a nice facility with friendly people at the desk. I am on Medicare and was told that they didn't accept it but I could pay $5 for an invoice that I could submit to my insurance (which does cover acupuncture). I had three sessions with the same person and it was pretty good. The first session was an intake session with a lot of questions about my health. After three sessions, I decided to submit an invoice to my insurance to see how it would work. I left a message for billing and they called me back but I wasn't available. I tried again but got no answer. Then I called the receptionist and asked her to take my credit card info so that the billing person could charge the fee and could then send me an invoice. She said she couldn't but that she would have billing call me back the next morning. No one called me the whole next day. I called and asked to speak to the manager and was told that person was not available but would - yes - call me back. And again, no one called me. So between the distance and this hassle just for a bill, I won't be going back. read more

She is trained in several modalities but it's the MLD (manual lymphatic drainage) that brought me here. She is booked far in advance cuz she is that good and has multiple repeat clients. I have been coming to this place for a few years now. It's quite the drive for me but it's worth it. I have a couple favorite people I see. Danube. She radiates knowledge, kindness and compassion. She is very knowledgeable and in tune with her practice so that she can give you the best results out of her sessions. She really is the best. My other favorite is Carole. For me I call her God's gift to man. She always knows what my body needs when I'm getting work done. I suffer from chronic pain and she does her best to help me. I don't know much about chakras and eastern medicine and I know this sounds weird but for some reason Carole's energy color she radiates to me is green and I feel like she's Mother Nature embodied as one. She is amazing and I find myself so lucky to have found her. Both these ladies are the best. Just wanted to give my honest review of this place and how grateful I am for them. Amazing service and acupuncture that really works. Lily has the most amazing skill set I have ever experienced with acupuncture. She is also a great listener to understand what your medical issues are and the best way to treat you. She was able to significantly reduce and even stop most of the pain in my feet from neuropathy and injuries. I now have full sensation in both legs and feet where it was a cluster of tingles or numb from neuropathy. I have been able to cancel a pain management surgery on my right foot, surgery that would have put me out of commission 3 to 5 months for recovery. Lily's skills in acupuncture have been a total life game changer for me. I am back to living life fully like I did in my 40's at the young age of 65. As a disabled veteran being sent by the VA to this establishment I must say BOTH staff members I spoke with was unprofessional disrespectful and flat out ignorant. The staff appears to be uneducated in their area of expertise. Staff tried to tell me my chiropractor whom requested I get a massage to aid in loosening up my back doesn't have a clue what he is talking about...even though ya know he is a doctor and all. Not to mention massage therapy goes hand in hand with chiropractor. Staff didn't even ask any discovery questions just heard I was being slightly adjusted and decided to push me a month out for my appointment. Even though I've made it abundantly clear that I can barely move and need a massage. Don't recommend this business at all. Exceptional treatment, professionalism, and very accommodating staff. My acupuncturist is extremely knowledgeable, formally educated as an (OMD), very experienced and fully explains treatment and answers any questions that I have. There's a nice sized medicinary, reading books and community board. Moxi, massage and cupping is offered and weekend appointments are available :) (that's pretty cool for Tuc). I would recommend over any other place in the Tucson metro area. Every treatment has yielded favorable results. I wish I could give 10 stars. 100 stars. All the stars in the world. I have had chronic pain and other health issues for years. I came here under after my chiropractor recommended I try out acupuncture. The first thing Claire did was tell me to ditch the raw foods (no more raw veggies!) and caffeine (ice tea) and to only drink hot or room temp liquids. Prior to this, I was the Ice Queen. If I was drinking it, it had to be 80% ice and 20% liquid. I went cold-turkey on the raw, caffeine, ice and the results have been astounding. Without trying I've lost 30 pounds since October 2016. I have less bloating and I feel like a new person. As long as I'm going in regularly, the everyday pain is much more tolerable. I still have issues when I do too much or skip a few weeks (on vacation, etc) but overall, my life is MUCH improved since being seen here that first time. I love the staff. They are helpful, friendly, respectful, caring, and all the other things you want in your health care professionals. Acupuncture has changed my life and I will be forever grateful to Claire and Jade Star for giving me back at least a portion of the person I used to be. I happily drive 20+ minutes each way to be seen here. And I'd drive an hour each way if I had to! read more

I've had ongoing shoulder/back/neck pain for more years than I've dimples of cellulite on my thighs. I no longer remembered how it felt to be pain free. I'd tried all sorts of methods - heat wraps, ice packs, massage, cupping, yoga, praying to God, begging Buddha, chiropractors, pain meds, herbal remedies - you name it, even acupuncture at other places - none of which provided long-lasting results. But, after doing extensive research on Yelp I decided to try Jade Star Acupuncture. Jennifer first screened me on the phone and noted the desperation in my voice. (I was willing to de-spine all of the cacti in Tucson for some pain relief at this point.) One thing she said that stuck with me was telling me to bring something to eat after acupuncture, as the process may be physically draining and leave some people weak. Although I knew this, it was the first time any practitioner had mentioned this in advance. The office is spacious and has two nicely-decorated rooms that would calm any person who's about to have dozens of small needles strategically placed onto his/her nerve endings. Danube was my practitioner and during our first meeting she was more thorough than my family doctor, asking everything from my physical to sexual to mental health. She also summarized the process of acupuncture and how the systems in the body work, with one affecting the other, and how her process of acupuncture deals with these pain centers. Unlike some acupuncturists, who like to get right into the pain centers, Danube places needles in the extremities - feet/legs, hands/arms, and ears - so there is no need to completely disrobe. Wearing loose pants and short-sleeved shirts is usually enough. First session's about 90 minutes and subsequent ones are 60 minutes. Besides acupuncture, Danube also does cupping, gua sha, and tui na. And, if you're willing, she'll also suggest some herbal remedies to help with various ailments. Within 10 minutes of my first acupuncture session, the pain was gone and remained this way for almost 1 week. After the second session I was pain free even when I saw Danube a week later. My latest session was right after a Thanksgiving filled with arduous hiking in the Grand Canyon, sleeping poorly on lumpy beds and carrying backpacks filled with liters of water. And yet I still went to my appointment pain-free. At the same time, my sleep and energy had dramatically improved from waking up several times a night to sleeping like a sack of potatoes on heroin. I'm so glad I had found Danube. Not only is she specialized in acupuncture, but can provide herbal remedies, and is experienced in other disciplines. Her acupuncture treatments are virtually painless, and she is careful not to do anything that might make the patient feel uncomfortable during treatment. If you're looking for an acupuncturist, Jade Star is a great all-around provider of different forms of treatment. They take insurance and will remind you of this right away. About 2 years ago I went through a traumatic experience as I had my 4th child. I lost so much blood and had suffered many health consequences because of it. I decided to try Jadestar as a desperate attempt to become healthier and return back to "normal" life. I started seeing Danube who is such an amazing, loving person. She listened to me and helped me feel safe through all the ups and downs. She not only does acupuncture but also offers cupping, massage, cranio-sacral, healing flower essences, and many other techniques to help me heel. She is constantly drawing from her current knowledge and is always seeking new ways to help her patients. It's a beautiful facility but more importantly it's staffed with people who take their work very seriously and genuinely want you to feel better. Sara wielded the needles and she was a pro with the ability to delicately needle YET get in there with therapeutic benefits. How do I know? It's a secret but I just know. When someone gives you extra "time" and expertly listens to you it's because they care and Sara stuck with me. Get it-stuck with me. Sure cupping feels good and everyone hypothetically needs it. I didn't need it but wow it felt good and I appreciated it. I don't care who you are you need to run over to Jade Star and see what insurance and/or cash will get you. Took care of my sinus issues I have been struggling with for years. I felt like they really listened to and addressed my concerns. I did not feel rushed. I had the good fortune to work at the front desk at Jade Star for half a year in 2015 but I am still going there for acupuncture with Danube so I figure it's okay for me to do a review. These are my go-to girls to feel better - after treatments I feel very calm and centered and even though it takes almost an hour for me to get down there from where I live, i wouldn't go anywhere else. Jennifer and Danube REALLY know their stuff and take their craft seriously. On the other side, they are both down to earth and hilarious. Pretty nice place to get acupuncture, cupping etc. Most of the staff is pretty nice and professional (although I did witness one of the staff members being unprofessional). The location can be a bit hard to find at first-- it's on the east side of the complex right behind the restaurant. There are 2 private rooms, both of which are pretty clean and well kept. There's also a small semi-private area for discounted acupuncture-- also clean and nicely decorated. Cons: It can be a bit loud in the rooms sometimes making it hard to fully relax. Noise travels through pretty easily. Other than that, this place is great. read more

I have always heard incredible things about acupuncture and what it can do for injuries. I am a competitive cyclist that recently crashed in a race. I injured my left shoulder and my hip.
