While doing the exercise (unobserved, so perhaps incorrectly) I ruptured my achilles tendon. The pain was intense and I asked the PT to take look at my ankle which hurt alot. . She replied that she could not attend to my ankle because I had a prescription from the doctor only for her to do PT for my hip, not my ankle. I went directly to a foot doctor at Lenox Hill and ended up needing three operations for the repair of the achilles tendon and complications that followed from the injury. My recommendation for prospective patients is that before you undergo treatment at this place you ask your PT if they would do the paper work after the session rather than during it, particularly if their practice is to treat two patients at the same time. If the management wants to contact me I would be glad to give them all of the details for them to prevent this from happening to another patient.

I received treatment at Spear PT's Upper East Side location on 3rd Avenue between 67th and 68th Streets, where my physical therapist was Ronique James. After eight weeks of treatment, I am now almost pain-free. Ronique was smart, caring, and attentive throughout the process. She listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions about my condition, and checked in regularly about which parts of the treatment felt too difficult, which exercises were helpful, and how I was progressing. She also varied the exercises, which kept the treatment from becoming repetitive or boring. Her approach reflected a strong understanding of my condition and the appropriate combination of care, including massage, ultrasound, stretching, and strengthening exercises. Ronique was always on time and consistently gave me the time and attention I needed. The administrative side of the experience was equally smooth. Scheduling appointments, coordinating insurance payments, and handling related details were all seamless. The staff was friendly, efficient, and consistently got everything right the first time. The facility itself was clean, organized, and well equipped, which made the overall experience even better.

My first few sessions I was always handed off to a technician, which I did not like at all. However the last few sessions I had was with my PT. My session times now are usually before noon so that probably is why, it's not too crazy busy but still full. My PT is attentive and will now move me up in resistance! Super exited about that! It's important to note that they now have a new office, and recently moved out of the old one that…read moreeveryone loved. The new office has fluorescent lighting, no windows, and VERY little equipment. As I recall the last time I was in there, roughly two weeks ago, all they had was an exercise bike, a treadmill, an arm bike, and a few ankle weights/therabands. The office space is very small, so unless they have plans to expand, I'm not sure where they would put all the other equipment necessary in a PT office. In PT, it's extremely important to have a variety of equipment, especially since many patients won't have access to certain things in their home, or in their gym. Prior to starting PT here, I wish I had known about the lack of necessary equipment, and how that would limit my ability to train and recover here. I came here to recover from my 3rd ACL injury and compared to other facilities, the training has been extremely limited and progress very slow due to lack of proper facilities. The therapists themselves are however, very kind and knowledgeable. It's a shame they are no longer in their old location. They do a lot of manual work on your injury which is certainly a plus.

She is a great clinician and definitely knows what she is doing. She comes off as a bit reticent, but she is very knowledgable. Don't be deceived by her stature, she is very good at Manual therapy and functional mobilization. I am from an IT background and she explained me all this. She has lot of patience and is truly caring. The other staff at this facility is very nice. The helped me with my dealings with insurance company and made that process very easy. It is a very clean and well maintained clinic.
