I had one of the worst service experiences I've ever had at Land Rover Cary. I brought my vehicle in because it stalled and was smoking under the hood. When I called to schedule my appointment, I explained everything and was told it sounded like an electrical issue or alternator. Based on that guidance, I had my car towed in. After diagnostics, I was told I needed alternator-related repairs . I picked up my car, drove less than five minutes, and it started smoking again -- the exact same issue I originally brought it in for. Now, instead of owning the misdiagnosis, the service department is suddenly claiming I have a coolant issue, which was never present before and never triggered any warning lights. This feels like new problems are being added instead of admitting the original issue was not properly diagnosed or fixed. Let's be clear: * I came in for stalling and smoking * I paid thousands based on their diagnosis * The problem was not resolved * Now they're changing the story A proper repair shop should: Diagnose the actual cause Verify the repair resolved the symptom Road-test the vehicle before releasing it None of that happened here. I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of accountability and professionalism. Being charged thousands only to get your car back in the same condition is unacceptable. The Cary location dare I say earned not even 0/5 Stars for customer service: non-existent. They will let you down with their lack of knowledge of their own policies. Terrible customer service. Be warned apparently they claim they "don't service Range Rovers made over 10 years ago" according to their "policy" that sounded completely made up when I asked to see the policy in an email, which they didn't provide and despite it being an easy fix and being told over the phone they would after driving an hour and a half just to get there during the work day and all of the sudden claimed they wouldn't install the part I literally ordered through them. Most disappointed I've been in a long time. I wouldn't ever want to buy a car from them and I already have a Range Rover and a Jaguar and have experienced many of these dealerships in multiple states such as Texas who were all way better by a long shot. After they wouldn't install the part they ordered for my car, I called the other Land Rover dealership near by and I just had the job done at nearby Land Rover of Raleigh who was 1000x better it's not even funny and they did it for like $50 bucks and took like 15 minutes. read more

I cannot leave zero stars, so once all have to do. This is our 100% real experience with Land Rover Cary. If you only need the short version, not only did the sales manager John Groisil treat us with complete disrespect, but the general manager David Coyle almost completely dismissed our situation and did not live up to his promises. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE DISREPUTABLE PEOPLE. They practice sketchy business practices, and do not engage you when you have problems with their vehicles. Now for the long version. In June of 2023, my wife and I bought a used Range Rover Sport from LRC and initially we were happy with the purchase. A few weeks after our purchase, we experienced smoke coming from under the front right off the vehicle. We took it in for service and LR told us it was a loose exhaust pipe and they had the " parts" to fix it. What they didn't tell us is that the part was bolt and this charged us $800 for the repair. Not covered by the warranty. Remember this, it will come back up. Gross. With that out of the way, we drove the vehicle for a couple more months, and we're relatively happy with it until 10/25/2023 when this vehicle with 51,000 miles on it suffered COMPLETE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. I Am Not kidding.  I had the car towed to my local, TRUSTED mechanic and they told me what I heard the most, that there was something that was preventing the event from turning over. The shop could not diagnose further without extensive cost, so I called LR to see if they could help. They did, and this is one of two helpful thing they did. They confirmed the failure and that the engine would need to be replaced.  Knowing that out warranty had expired, I asked Land Rover what they could do to help, and their answer was not good. First, it took me 3 phone calls, all without response, and finally a visit from me just to get someone to speak with me. I think I caught them off guard, but that was my intent since they WOULD NOT return my calls.   I was finally able to get them to give me a quite on replacing the engine, and that would be over $32,000! And no, they would not cover any of those costs! I was also able to get the full maintenance records from the dealer and well, there were some enlightening things in there. But at this point, I had service a mechanic to source and replace the engine, at a less than half the cost quoted by the dealer. In the meantime, the dealer has told me that all regular services has been done on schedule and at the dealership. Fast forward to the engine breakdown. This is where we really uncover the shadiness and lies. My mechanic discovered that the EGR valves were completely blocked and caked with carbon. He also discovered that the turbo assembly was not properly connected to the exhaust (remember the first issue they charged me $800 for?) He also discovered that there was a bolt missing from the exhaust pipe (again, first issue) and tons of blowback on the engine.  Let's dive into the maintenance records for a minute. I found out that Land Rover had PREVIOUS FIXED THE TURBO AND EXHAUST! So basically they attempted to fix and did not, faked fixing it again and charged me for the work! Next, looking at the regular oil changes, it seems that for the first 5 or 6 they did at regular intervals of 5000-6000 miles. However , the last interval was over 17000 miles. That seems absolutely ridiculous and had they done one iota of checks, they would have, and should have changed the oil before they sold that vehicle. Again GROSS NEGLIGENCE AND INCOMPETENCE.  Now after I found this out, I called the dealer corporate headquarters promptly received a call from the general manager. At first he seemed genuinely apologetic and offered to cover some of the repair costs, which they did, and if we wanted to work a deal on another vehicle when this one was repaired, just come to him and he would work with us. But true to the stereotype of a sleazy sales weasel, when I tried to call him (David Coyle), he never returned my calls (3x). So once again I was forced to drive to the dealership to get any acknowledgement at all. I asked him to explain to me what a "Deal" meant and he refused unless I had a vehicle in mind. He did not want to put any effort into assisting us. I was utterly disgusted.  We finally, after 5 months got our car back and had been driving it. A 2017 engine with 10k less miles than the one that failed. Was running great, even drive it to Florida. I changed the oil twice and seemed to be running well, until last Thursday, February 6, 2025, When on our way home from a show, this piece of Garbage failed again! At 50,000ish miles. Setting out to look for a vehicle, I stopped at Jaguar Land Rover Cary. They had a slim selection and no new vehicles. They were selling there service loaners and only giving a $2000.00 discount. I know supply and demand. I was interested in a BMW X3,5 , Bronco( none to be found) so I stopped to look at a Land Rover. Pleasantly surprised at the ride, handling and how quiet it was. It took some time for a salesperson to approach me. A few salespeople looked at me and never even acknowledged me. Interesting, business must be good. A salesman named John came up and greeted me. I drove a vehicle ( a service loaner, no new vehicles were on the lot ). The salesman was informative, no pressure, gave me a price on the vehicle I Drove ( service loaner ) . I told him I would be more interested in a new one. Thought $2000.00 off was not a deal maker for me, but they did not have the vehicle I wanted. I was still looking , getting information, feel of vehicles. I told him this up front. He did follow up through text and a call. Before I left the dealership that day, he asked for my permission today call or text. He was very professional and carried himself in a un daunting manner. The information on their service center website is fake - I made an appointment online for five days out, and three days later someone calls me to say the appointment scheduler on their website is completely fake - they don't have appointments for the next two weeks, and they don't have loaner cars, which the site said they do. That's the kind of customer service you have - a completely fake online service system? That you know is untrue, but keep up online? Tom Higgins over in Cary is the guy you want to see if you want to leave the lot with a smile! Update 11/28/21 Customer service level has declined drastically. With a 2018 truck, somehow a I have an engine/coolant issue and my guy Tom H. has turned into a ghost. Wont respond to texts or calls. Ok fine... I'll go through the proper channels. Call the service department and I never get straight answers. It seems like they're carefully walking on eggshells with every conversation trying to duck a lawsuit or something. Like guys chill I'm just trying to get good service . "We will have so and so call you back with an answer for that.." I feel I bought a truck from the Mob or something. I'm asking simple stuff like hey what's the process for setting up an appointment with another dealership because I moved. Thomas my salesman was great! The rest of the dealership not so much! The 2109 Infiniti q60 had non matching tires from front to back and the front tires outermost tread was worn almost all the way down to nothing and the dealership refused to replace them! I arrived at the dealership without needing financing and I was still there for 3 hours! The man doing the paperwork was very pushy on their extended warranty and protection plans after I told him I was not interested in them! I only got one key fob and I also had to change the oil and filter after my purchase because it had not been serviced and was showing 1551 miles till service is due! They did fill it up with gas at less! The car is in very good condition had it not been I would not have bought it! The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of Thomas, if not for him it would be 1 star! read more

One of the worst dealerships to deal with for service. Nothing is ever covered under warranty. I bought a new Range Rover sport from them. $150 oil change., suspension issues and oil leak. None covered under warranty. They give you no loaner car unless you beg for one. Also, I just got a Jaguar F-Type and ended up buying from El Paso TX because they weren't willing to find the car I wanted. Their price on the F-Type was quite a bit higher( for a color I didn't want)even after I paid $1,000 shipping. Took the Jaguar in because I had a an ABS light that has come on 4-5 times. It took 3 hours and told me they couldn't duplicate it. Duh? This was on Xmas eve. I also had a small hole where the seatbelt pulls on the seatbelt guide. I was told it wasn't covered under warranty. The car is 9 months old with 5,500 miles . Moral of the story, if you want to waste your time, not get anything accomplished and have to spend 3-5k fixing things that should be under warranty, go here. DO NOT drop your vehicle off here. They will lose accountability of your car, confuse your profile, and make apologies that will interrupt your day and travel plans. After disrupting your plans they will unlikely have a loaner leaving you to figure out your transportation issues for yourself. Unfortunately, I have had two TERRIBLE experiences at this location since 2016 and I am disassociating myself from this location. TL;DR: poor communication and shadiness without any follow up. I was trying to buy a used vehicle they had on the lot, granted it wasn't a Jaguar or a Land Rover but I still expected the minimum amount of customer service. When I first visited to look at it, my salesperson was very personable, walked me around the vehicle, took it for a drive...all good. Get inside to talk to numbers and we were pretty far off but they were closing soon and the manager said they needed to take the vehicle through service to get it checked out as it had just arrived (even though it was on all the car sites and sponsored so they clearly were ready to sell it) and they would call me within 2 days to let me know what was up. No problem. 2 days go by and I haven't heard anything, assuming my guy was just busy, I called him and was able to chat saying they needed to do a few things to get it ready to sell cause it wouldn't pass inspection (the tint was too dark and one headlight was burned out). I told him great and to let me know when that was done....few days go by, haven't heard anything. I call HIM back again and am told the repairs were complete and the truck was ready. There was also -- allegedly -- another person interested. Since I was not dying to get this vehicle, I told him that I understand and if this person was going to buy this truck the next morning, they should do it. No harm, no foul. He tells me he will call me after the person comes in the next day (9:30am) to let me know if he bought it or not. I never received a call so, later that evening, I call him and he tells me that the person didn't buy it cause he thought it was blue instead of black. I find that hard to believe as the color is listed on the site and it's very obviously black as I looked at it at night and could clearly tell the color. Also, if you are ready to buy it, you woudn't walk away cause you were confused on the color IMO. A few days later, I drive to the dealer during the day to get a better look. Turns out the tint was still on and the headlight was still burned out as the new one was still sitting on the passenger seat. So clearly, the repairs WEREN'T done and that "person" was never going to buy it as they can't legally sell a vehicle that wont pass inspection. After calling him again, I mention to him that I will be out of town for a bit and he said he was going to talk to his manager about pricing etc...never heard from him ever again despite me texting him and messaging my initial online sales person for a follow up. Now the vehicle is off the site. I assume it was sold but I received no notification either way. read more

I thought I'd treat myself to getting my car serviced here, expecting a higher level of service compared to Jiffy Lube and such. It's been close to 3 hours waiting for my oil to get changed. They don't have any kind of shuttle service so you're stuck here unless you have a friend come and pick you up. The waiting room is average. Promised "white glove" service when I purchased this vehicle. Nothing close. I could not even get a loaner. Over charged on every service. The last time in for a full service my coolant level was low within a month later. They didn't touch it. They also said that I needed new brakes. It'll be a cold day in hell before I ever do business with this dealership and I'd caution anyone else looking their way. I purchased a vehicle in January, in full, in cash. I repeatedly stated that the dealership should send me the title and I will deal with the registration, taxes, and IMF in the state of SC. (Purchase in NC, register in SC) The dealership persuaded me to let them handle all the paperwork and they do this all the time for people in SC and NC. They provided a 30 day NC temp tag. Fast forward to March and I still don't have the title. They blamed SC DMV for "recent issues" and "slowness." Two weeks prior to this purchase, I purchased my mother a vehicle, in cash, from a different dealership and I had my title in about a week. I payed the IMF in SC, the taxes in SC, and got the car registered without a hiccup. I can assure you, that the SC DMV is not to blame. Why did I pay over $600 in admin/processing and registration fees? This dealership did nothing useful. I sat for almost two hours with the check in my hand just to sign a page of documentation and receive my keys. I waited for an hour at the bank to receive a copy of the bill of sale from the dealership so I could address the check properly. No sense of urgency. My sales rep was a nice gentleman by the name of Ruben but after selling the car he had no skin in the game so I was passed off to someone else. I have the car, you have my money. Give me the TITLE. Simple. Next time I'll stick with a BMW dealership (as I own 3) and it won't be Leith BMW either. read more

Everything from being quoted $115 for a new battery only to find out after they installed it that it is now $380. To bring my Jaguar to the dealership 3 times in the past 6 months.....only to find out my coolant is sitting about 2 inches below the minimum line THAT SHOULD GAVE BEEN TOPPED OFF when I brought it in for oil changes/inspections. There is a good reason why consumers do not go to a dealer for service when not under warranty. Jaguar of Cary IS the reason. They think nothing of gouging consumers. I made an appointment for a Thursday- their availability of course. I dropped the car off in person the night before. This was a diagnostic only for a check engine light. I had to call each day to see if the car was complete-Ridiculous. I finally picked the car up late Monday before closing. There was no reason ever given for the 3 day delay; only that the sensor showed a catalytic converter needed to be replaced. I chose not to have this Double the market price work done. However, I did ask them to remove and install a used (but working) overhead console. The pervious owner installed one that was the wrong color. When I picked up the car they wanted me to pay for it first; I knew this trick and told them I needed to see the car first. When they brought it up the console did not light up when I opened the door. The service salesperson tried to talk me through it saying the bulbs were likely faulty. I told him I provided two NEW bulbs with the unit! Until I insisted he speak to the overpaid technician and explain why it wasn't working as I plugged it in before in got there and all was perfect-including the old bulbs. He came back and told me the technician said he placed the new bulbs in and plugged the wire harness in and found it was not working? Instead of noting that very important information on the service ticket and NOT installing the supposed faulty console; he installed it anyway and just figured I would drive off and not notice. I told the service technician that was both unprofessional and unexpected from a Jaguar dealer. Did not matter one bit- charged me the full price anyway and also charged me the standard 11% shop fees. I asked why; you didn't use anything- just plugged the car in and installed my console. Again, no exceptions just pay the full tab and expect the customer to eat it. Stay away from these guys- they are revenue machines that gouge customers in attempts to stay alive while other shops are half the price. I would have never gone to the dealer but it seems they have the MAGIC code reader that is priced outside every other shops affordability. What a ridiculous NEVER changing game. ALWAYS use other non-dealer service shops when you can-read their reviews and make informed decisions. read more

It is difficult to get a appointment set. None for tire service on the weekends or evenings. I took off work to come during the week in the afternoon for a tire repair, after I waited an hour and a half...they came and told me it couldn't be repaired. They were able to fit in my oil change so that I didn't have to come the next day for that. I was there a total of 2.5 hours for an oil change. That is ridiculous!!! They told me why they couldn't repair the tire but when we asked more questions they were not able to answer clearly and said that the tire repair guy had left for the day. I would not recommend after last weeks experience. I was there for 2.5 for an oil change, my tire wasn't repaired, and I didn't get a clear answer on why. I've had my Land Rover Discovery Sport for 3 years now, so I've been in and out of the service department a few times for minor warranty repairs. I have to express that the gentleman in the service department, Mike and Peter, are an asset to Land Rover Cary. I've had nothing but fast, friendly, and knowledgeable service from these two employees each and every time. I have decided I will be a Land Rover owner for life simply because these two gentlemen make service more convenient than any other dealership I've ever visited. I'm a very busy business woman and mom, so it's a big inconvenience when my suv needs servicing. However, Mike and Peter make the necessary visit far less painful. I simply schedule my appointment, pull into the bay, and they are immediately available to check me in and get me going in a loaner suv. When the appointment is complete, I pull the loaner into the bay and they are quick to get me back into my suv. To top things off, they return my car washed and cleaned on the inside! I previously got my discovery fixed there when it was still a few hundred miles under warranty and it broke down only a few miles over the warranty, when I went to complain to the manager he gave me the biggest attitude, he said it was bc of a different issue even though when I first dropped my car there I explain what I thought was wrong being friends of mine where mechanics, and it ended up being the reason my car broke down after the warranty, this may of been the worse experience I have ever had with any business, I ended up going somewhere else and paying $5,000 to get it fixed. read more
