I ordered a masala dosa, which came with chutney and sambhar. The reason for a 3 and not a 4 or 5 is that the food just sat at the expo shelf for several minutes waiting to be served. The dosa was therefore room temperature and everything tasted fairly mediocre. They were clearly understaffed whereby the cashier was also serving plates and doing other kitchen-related tasks. 4/5 Finally had this sandwich after eyeballing this place for weeks lol. Stopped in during my walk and decided to try the smoked Gouda chicken sandwich. The flavors went together soooooo well, I absolutely loved it. Now there was a little too much cheese for my liking and this is coming from a cheese lover. I ordered some food here with a friend while in Krog Street Market. I ordered the Butter chicken burger, Smoked gouda naanwich, and fries. The food came in a decent amount of time. They forgot to put my friends order in so we did have to wait awhile for her order though. There isn't really too much of an ambiance since it's in krog street market besides the energy the staff gives off which was nice and friendly. I really liked the fries they were nice and thick. I didn't really like the butter chicken burger that much the flavors were not what I was expecting it to be and in my opinion didn't mix too well together. I did really like the smoked Gouda naanwich and I would order that again. The prices are fair for the food proportions being its krog street market where everything is expensive. I had stopped in at Krog Street Market to grab a quick bite after walking along the beltline for quite some time. I am sucker for Indian food, so I immediately gravitated towards Jai Ho. I didn't want so many things to eat, more so just of a snack to share with the other people in my group. I saw the loaded chicken 65 fries on the menu, and immediately knew I HAD to get them. I ordered and waited about 10 minutes for them, but it was WORTH IT. They were so flavorful and hot! The chicken pieces were pretty decently sized, and there was a good bit of chicken as well. It had a little bit of a kick to it, but nothing too bad. The price for the fries were $14, so a little steep, but that's pretty common for a food market type of appetizer. The food, though, was on the pricier side in comparison to other Indian restaurants as well as less flavorful. the saag felt off, too milky with only 5 chunks of paneer; the chai tasted as if the tea was burnt and as a result lacking the decadent smoothness of the cardamom and other spices. It seemed like the audience for the food is a bit more American and more non traditional, whihc may allow others to ease their way into Indian cuisine. This restaurant is set up like a restaurant at a food court where you walk up to the counter, order your food, and find seating elsewhere. You'll have to listen for your number though! I ordered my food and waited quite a while as I watched other people who ordered after me get their food first. I had to walk up and ask about my order but it turned out they had forgotten my order on the counter. So my food had become a bit cold by the time I actually got it. The food itself is mediocre. I didn't really enjoy the Panipuri since it wasn't as chilled as I expected it to be. The shells had gotten slightly soggy at the bottom. The smoked Gouda chicken sandwich was actually very delicious! I could definitely taste the spices they used and the sandwich itself had a lot of filling. That chips it came with were a bit stale. I peeped this place on my first visit to Krog st Market, The first thing I noticed was the big poster with pictures of their food items which is really smart btw because it allows ppl to get a glimpse of what to expect! I love naan so I decided to order some to go along with a meal I purchased from another food stall. The naan came in this foil insulated paper bag which kept it soft and warm. Stopped here on Saturday evening for dinner, excited to try out a Indian spot. We ordered the chicken korma with rice (not pictured) which tasted like your basic curry. Not bad but nothing special. The lamb biryani was ok in flavor, just extremely salty and dry all around. Lastly we got the Paneer Kofta. I would've been more satisfied had it just been the paneer and the wrap alone. The vegetables were an absolute salt bomb with some very strong and bitter spice flavors. The worst part of the experience however was biting into teeth-shattering, massive chunks of various spices (see pic) in both the wrap and biryani. I was surprised when I found that it very flavorful and even had a tiny bit of spice to it. I would have preferred a bit more spice but understand they need to cater to a wide audience. My only complaint is that the panner was average- it was a bit too squeaky. Jai Ho is a solid option if you want quick, easy Indian food at Krog. Although the menu leans towards street food-style items given its location- focusing on traditional chaat and more modern-fusion items like burritos and sandwiches- Jai Ho also has a solid offering of thalis and a la carte curry options, which sparked my curiosity. For a recent takeout order, I sampled the vegan channa masala thali, a dark and rich chickpea stew served with well-seasoned basmati rice, roti, and cucumber salad. She had the paneer tikka, which was particularly tasty, paired with surprisingly delicious naan. We also couldn't pass up a steaming cup of their chai masala, which was a deliciously spicy and creamy way to start our meal. read more

Summary: - Food is tasty - Food is very expensive for what you actually get - Service is good -- with exceptions. I've had several meals at Jai Ho, and they're all basically 3 to 4 stars. Not amazing, but very strong. The menu is interesting and varied without being overwhelming -- a good mix of Westernized Indian food and several options that the average non-Indian American might not be familiar with. My biggest complaint is with portions and pricing. When you get a serving of an entree like Tikka Masala or Lamb Curry, the actual quantity of chicken or lamb in the sauce is very low. Maybe 4 or 6 small bites. This happened for all 7 entrees our group got. The Lamb Curry combo is $15, and with that I got a ton of white rice ($2 value), a bit of salad, and the lamb curry with a few bites of lamb which each come to about $1 per bite! I think I was supposed to get a Roti and Samosa, but those were not included. (Also, the order was not ready at the time promised on the online ordering page, so I had to wait around while I was in a rush -- not a huge deal, but indicative of a poorly coordinated operation.) The other folks in our party complained about the relative lack of food in their entrees as well. The Chicken Tikka Masala we got for the kids was 95% sauce with a few tiny bites of chicken. The stalls that thrive at KSM give people good value for the money -- even if prices are kinda high -- and I think current management is pricing like the other stalls without offering the same value. Bonus tip for management: Please indicate on your menu which items are mild vs. hot vs. very hot. ... For example, saag is usually a mild choice, but the one here was rather spicy. read more

It's a small location in Krog Street. There's nowhere to sit in the booth so you have to sit else went Krog street is huge so it's not a big deal. they do have unique drinks like chai available . I got the Samosa Chaat and the chicken tikka wrap. but Samosa Chaat is a rather large appetizer which is good for two people. Great flavors and I really liked it. The chicken tikka wrap is OK. It needs a little more flavor in my opinion maybe some more spices as well. It's a little blander than I would've liked which is OK but I wish they at least had some dipping sauce. it took a while for my food to come out. Everyone is super nice there including the girl that works for the cash register.
