I got a mango lassi ($5.99), masala smashed potatoes ($6.99), and chicken tikka roll ($11.99). The food came out FAST. The mango lassi was sweet, creamy, and refreshing. And the potatoes and roll were DELICIOUS. They came out hot and fresh. The potatoes were super crispy and well-seasoned. It was served with this tasty sauce that had a bit of a kick and some sweetness. Every part of the chicken tikka roll was delicious. The chicken was flavorful & tender, the naan was warm & thick & tasty, the green chutney added a nice brightness, and the slaw added a fresh crunch. The roll was served with raita on the side. Botiwalla is one of the fast causal restaurants on the main floor food hall of Ponce City Market. You order at the counter, and can sit within their space, or "to go" if you sit in the main hall. The rest of my group had ordered from another restaurant, so I picked my order up from the counter space. The menu is a good length, sandwiches, salads, sides, sodas, and a couple alcoholic drink options. I had the smashed potatoes, the fish sandwich, and their raspberry/lime soda. Everything was fantastic, very flavorful, ingredients balanced. My niece had not wanted to order as she was unsure about whether she'd like the flavors, and she does not do spicy. Haven't had really good Indian food in so long. There were so many people waiting in line. People were saying that it's pretty authentic and one of the best ones around. Warning- they often have a line - yes it's that good !! After placing your order you are either given a number to place on your table if dining in, or just verbally given a number to wait on your to go order. I have been here at least 4 times within the last 2 months! The Crispy Masala Fish Roll is what keeps me coming back! The description from the website is as follows: Crispy wild caught Alaskan cod seasoned with cumin, lime, chilli powder, ginger, garlic. Wrapped in hot buttered naan with Desi slaw, onion, cilantro, green chutney & Maggi ketchup. (fish, milk, eggs, sesame, wheat)!! It always leaves me wanting more ! I have also tired the chai tea and cookies - I appreciate that the taste is light on both the tea and cookies. Other items I have tried are the Masala Smashed Potatoes and the veggie skewer. Quite a solid place for an Indian place. We took the #2 bus from the North Ave Train Station and walk a block. We tried the Malai Chicken, roti and the rice bowl. The cilantro chutney hit the spot. Extremely average experience here today. Service was incredibly slow, probably a 25 minute line for 6 people?! The line was out the door and kept building. My family had finished their meals from other vendors by the time I brought mine to the table. Had the new Chicken Tikka Rice Bowl. It was fine, but don't expect it to taste of anything more than plain chicken on basmati rice. No sauce or flavor to the chicken, but at least it was cooked well. The chicken tikka wrap was freshly made with a good amount of fresh veggies inside. For Indian food it lacked flavor which I was shocked by because their food NEVER lacks flavor. The flavor of the chicken didn't pack a powerful punch, it was a little bland but good enough for me to chow down. The mango lassi, was sweet but I like them with a little bit of tartness and this lacked that, but I drank it anyway. They have a decent size menu so come and try something out for yourself. I've tried pretty much everything it has to offer but for some reason, the one place I've heard so much about has also managed to escape me....Botiwalla....until now! Botiwalla is Indian street food. Simple concept, big flavors! The menu features mostly Rolls, bowls, and a host of drinks to choose from. I never say no to crispy potatoes! Botiwalla serves Crispy fingerling potatoes tossed with chaat masala, lime, & cilantro. Served with sweet and spicy Maggi ketchup. I love me some sodium, almost to a fault....but this seasoning right here is a salt bomb! That ketchup is an absolute necessity to counter balance! Decent crispy potatoes, but unfortunately not as good as advertised. Chicken tikka roll: chicken marinated in yogurt, lime, Kashmiri chilli paste, & tandoori spices. Served with desi slaw, onion, cilantro, & green chutney all wrapped in naan. The good.... This is certainly not short on flavor! The slaw is a refreshing touch. Not so good....The wrap itself would be easier to enjoy if the chicken was chopped to about half the size. Chicken this size absolutely needs to be tender, and this was not. The naan was also over toasted, resulting in a tougher rather than soft naan experience. Still a good roll overall. Ponce city is so diverse in its offerings! Although I'll admit I have had more enjoyable dining experiences within these walls, there is definitely a place for Botiwalla. I am happy to tick it off the Ponce bucketlist. read more

My friend recommended this restaurant after going to a wedding in Atlanta and everyone raving about this place. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I was so excited when I saw it on Uber Eats which meant I could order with my coworkers. There were plenty of vegetarian options which was very exciting. I got the paneer tikka skewer, tandoori veggie skewer and the masala smashed potatoes. Every single item was absolutely amazing but I still think about those smashed potatoes with the chaat masala. It was truly something I wasn't expecting but tried out of curiosity and the dish blew my socks off. My coworkers even tasted them and absolutely loved them. Just WOW! This was one of the BEST and most MEMORABLE food experiences I've ever had! I visited the Atlanta area for a trip and we had to stop at a food hall here. The Ponce Market has so many good options, but I knew I had to try this place. The menu was amazing and had a good variety of options without being overwhelming. They also had a constant line throughout my visit (it seriously never died down). I decided to try the Veggie Kabob Roll for my entree and it was perfection at first bite! All of the flavors of the spices and marinade just meshed SO well with one another and created the most delicious dish. I paired it with the Masala Smashed Potatoes that were super tasty and had a nice soft and crispy texture. My girls couldn't stop eating them off my plate! It all felt and tasted so authentic. The cashier really helped me make my decision when I was stuck and was so patient with me. And the food came out super fast, yet hot and fresh. This hall was super busy and full of people which also helped create a fun & lively atmosphere. Even through the tables outside were hard to come an across, the Botiwalla had open seating inside their space. Fantastic spot in Ponce City Market for a spin on Indian street food! I've been here a couple of times when in Atlanta. It's not normal for me to rave about a salad, but the Desi Salad here is actually divine -- bright, zesty and earthy. The cabbage they use is incredibly fresh and balanced with the right amount of herbs. Their rolls are also so flavorful and well-priced. Service is fast and friendly, and there's plenty of seating both inside and outside (for when the weather is nice). This time, I also grabbed a tamarind cola (as I love tamarind flavored drinks and sauces), which was also lovely and refreshing -- if a bit tepid in the tamarind flavor. The rolls are pretty hefty so one roll was good for each if us. We also got the fries and some other appetizers and really enjoyed them. The fries were especially yummy. The price for the food was great. The atmosphere and area is awesome. They had a good amount of seating areas and our group of 15 were able to find a table and eat our food.
