Butter Chicken Basmati Rice Garlic Naan

It was a date night and from the minute you walk in you can smell the aroma of spices in the room. The restaurant was quaint and comfortable. The menu was extensive and authentic the service was good or served was attentive and prompt. We both selected the butter chicken and garlic nan. Everything was delicious .

Enjoyed a weekday birthday group dinner here. Located on the second floor of the Monroe plaza anchored by TJs, Desi Spice offers a wide array of Indian dishes for all dietary preferences. We enjoyed samosas to start(very large portion). I had salmon tiki masala(chicken is probably better), garlic naan, and saag paneer. The food was good, affordable, and timely. Servers were very friendly as well. They threw in a dessert for the table.

Great portions and attentive staff. Casual atmosphere. The puri shrimp masala appetizer and garlic naan were excellent. The chicken tikka masala and chicken pasanda were both delicious.

Great experience across the board with this establishment. Service was very polite and respectful. They gave great suggestions. We ordered shrimp Tiki masala, lamb saag, and chicken 65. You can choose if you want spicy or non. We sat on the patio however the inside if nice. It's small, quaint, and intimate on the inside. Can't wait to go back.

This is a local fave!! Service here was welcoming, Warwick and efficient! Food came out quickly, good portions and they will prepare entrees to the spice levels you desire. In all my years of coming year I have never had a bad meal. All the nan is also made to order. Garlic and the cheese are my favorites. They also serve beer and wine. Decor is traditionally Indian and very beautiful!

I dined in last night and have no complaints. The service was attentive and the place filled up around 7:30. While I initially felt they were trying to turn the table, that energy dissipated and my friend and I sat for hours catching up, having our waters refilled repeatedly. Veggie samosas were a hit (maybe slightly overcooked on the outside but well flavored inside). I enjoyed the tarka daal (hot) with garlic naan. The consistently and spice level were perfect IMO. Garlic naan is some of the best I've had in/around Atlanta. It flakes and stretches in equal measure which is a difficult balance to strike.

The Food Was Amazing!! We had Desi Special Biryani with Chicken, Lamb, Shrimp and Salmon (moist flavorful and succulent proteins)... Okra Bahji (sautéed perfectly)... Paratha naan (buttery delicious)... With both veggie and beef samosa's... The food was hot fresh and very tasty! Not One Dish disappointed!!!! Matter-fact I ate that Sunday and I'm back Tuesday for the same exact order... The pictures below aren't from our dined in experience... These are from when I came back on Tuesday. The service was A1... Shakib, our waiter was very helpful and attentive! Knowledgeable about how the food was prepared and able to tell you the differences in how it's prepared in various restaurants and Eastern cultures... He shared this knowledge and pride in the food, his care, confidence and pleasure in serving it! The ambiance was nicely lit to accommodate both daytime and evening vibes... With comfortable cultural sitting both inside and outside on the balcony... The restaurant is excellently placed in the market place overlooking the Atlanta city foot traffic! If you give this place a try it's gonna become your go to for the Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi cuisine which its name bares! I give this place 5 stars cause they take advantage of every opportunity in providing you with more than just desi food... But Culture For All Your Senses!!

In the Atlanta area for a special occasion, stopped by Desi Spice Indian Cuisine which was in the area -- technically in downtown Atlanta. Group of five incl. family and relatives, got seating inside. Here is what our group had: - Chicken Tikka Masala (medium spicy) - Chicken Tikka Biriyani (medium spicy) - Goat Vindaloo (medium spicy) All the food was really good here. Rich, and flavorful dishes. Each with their unique taste and flavor. Chicken Tikka is a bit on the sweetish side, so I recommend getting at least medium spicy. We also got the Chicken Tikka Biriyani, rather than the normal Chicken one. It is the dish with rice, and was similarly pretty spot on. Goat Vindaloo is flavorful, but a deeper, more refined kind of richness. It was also really good. All in all, two excellent dishes, plenty of garlic naan and basmati rice to go around, and the only negative I found was the smallish quantities for curry (sauce) and pieces -- sufficiently enough for five people to share, however. All in all, this choice was a shot in the dark, but turned out to be really well in practice. Great flavors and quality of dishes here. Highly recommend!

During my recent visit to Atlanta we went here not once but twice. It was THAT good. My niece and I went one night for dinner and had the best experience ever. All of the wait staff were excellent, we especially enjoyed Nabil who was hilarious! We couldn't decide between the chicken 65 and the Tandoori wings. We went with the wings but were pleasantly surprised when Nabil also brought us the chicken 65. While both were delicious the 65 was our favorite! We also ordered butter chicken, veggies and garlic naan. The butter chicken and naan were spectacular but we didn't love the veggies that were a bit mushy for our taste. Surprisingly the star of the show, that brought us back again 2 days later was the hot masala chai! I still dream about that chai, it is truly magical. All in all we love this restaurant and it's now on my list of places to eat while in Atlanta.

This review is for 3.5 stars. I have always been curious about this Indian restaurant when I've visited other places in the Promenade. Was looking for something close by to eat so decided to finally give it a shot. The restaurant itself is not very big on the inside and there were maybe only two other tables that had guests dining at the time we went. I will say that the male employee who seated us was friendly. We Ordered the Chicken 65, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, and Naan to eat. All of the dishes were decent, but I felt they were a little "watered" down to cater to an American pallette. I was certainly expecting bolder flavors of Indian spices to come through with every bite but alas, it was more on the milder side.. And I'm not referring to heat when I say "mild", but rather it was really more about the robust flavors that were lacking. Overall, this place was ok and I wouldn't cross it off the list of options for Indian food. However, if you're looking for super authentic Indian cuisine in terms of flavors then you may find this spot to be slightly off the mark.

But this past time I got takeout, the chicken tikka masala really blew me away. The flavor was very rich and well developed, without just a surface level flavor of tomato. Each bite of chicken was also very tender. To be fair I haven't had Indian food in a while and was really craving it but I was pleasantly surprised. Garlic naan could've been a bit more garlicky but was very good texturally, nice and chewy. The parking garage entrance is right next door (to the right of the restaurant) and you can get validated inside. If you're getting takeout, they text you a link you have to prepay through before they start preparing the food which is a bit annoying, but I get it.

This is the summary of my experience there: 1) Ambiance 3/5: The place from outside looks contemporary and chic. The bar looks inviting but as you enter the dining area, the place is dated. The decor looks shabby and I feel they should renovate for they have a reputation to maintain 2) Service 3/5: This was a hit and a miss for me. Though they are gracious enough to validate your parking, the service was at times good but at times slow and bad. One person was good at suggestions but the other person was really lazy. I went their for my birthday but they took about 10 minutes to get me a candle which was disappointing to say the least. 3) Food 4/5: This is where they excel. Although everything was pricey. The taste made up for it. We had: a) kaala khatta : This is basically shikanji but was refreshing b) mango chili mojito: My wife loved it. It tasted like you were eating raw mango with salt and chili powder. c) palak patta chaat - it was crispy and flavorful d) Chicken curry: Loved the taste. The accompanying rice was so less that it looked like a joke e) Chur chur naan and garlic naan: Pricey and ok f) Carrot halwa with ice cream: The combination was good but carrot halwa in general was ok. Tasted like the heated store bought frozen halwa 4) Value for money 3/5: Really pricey. The taste was look but for the amount, everything was pricey I would only return if I a really craving for Indian food with nothing in the vicinity and someone else is paying.
