This place is clean with great ambiance, service and the food is out of this world. Not only is the food fresh it is unique and tasty. My first meal was the cheese enchiladas topped with an egg and they were super. My next meal was the cheeseburger deluxe with an appetizer of fried jalapeños. It was all great and the basket of jalapenos was so great in the ranch dipping sauce that i ate the whole large basket. This place has some really great food and great seating also. We came on a Sunday around 1130 and it was not crowded. They are open until 2pm Sundays. Order a bacon cheeseburger with natural cut fries and my mate ordered a mushroom swiss burger with sweet potato fries. Everything was excellent. Juicy burgers and fries cooked to perfection. They have only been open since 2020 and they made it through the shut downs. Wide open with lots of tables, two pool tables and a stage. I highly recommend this place. Come support a local small business and have a great burger! They have a jail theme (hence the name) and are right across from the old historic jail and courthouse. read more

If possible could you actually OPEN when your hours say you are? 3 times in a 2 week period they were NOT open. Apparently if there are new owners they don't pay attention to their employees or hours. Another instance we got to restaurant at 5pm. We walked in and ordered dinner and 30 mins later they shut the lights off and said they were closing at 5:30 pm. read more

Great ambience for a small town Texas roadside bar and grill. Downtown next to City Hall. Waitstaff were amazing and everyone that works here was super friendly. 10/10. Food was good. The last three times I have been there the servers have been very rude. Waited 15 min to be greeted. We ordered our food immediately and waited. People who came in after us ordered and received their food and was about done. I could not get our servers attention. I wished my hotel was closer to this venue, I probably would of eaten here my entire stay in Uvalde. The service was delayed, but given the sizzle of my party it was understandable. We were greeted with a smile and cheerfulness. We had time to catch up with Co-workers and discuss itinerary for the weeks to come. The appetizers were fulfilling and on the house. The location is located it what appeared to be downtown, not much going on, quiet and homely. The restrooms were a little weird but clean . Excellent meal! We were driving through and found this amazing restaurant! The burgers were cooked to perfection and the French fries were obviously sliced fresh and were tasty. The Sweet potato fries were excellent. I would eat here anytime and recommend them to everyone. There was one busy waitress who took care of everyone. We went on a Sunday around 11:30 and were the only ones there. When we left (12:15ish), there were several filled tables. As a side note, they opened in 2020 and are still standing! The server was extremely rude and only came to our table 2 times and we waited 30 minuits just for her to take our drink order and then we waited another 20 to get our drinks for them to be the wrong drinks our food took forever to get there and it was cold when it finally did and we had the wrong sides and asked for salt for it to take the time that we were already done by the time she brought it. Slightly larger than a liquid medicine cup for $6!!! 15 min later the potato skins showed up. No small plates, no utensils, and no ranch. Couldn't find the waitress so I went to the kitchen and they gave me what I needed. While waiting 35 min for food we needed refills. Once again had to go myself. The food took two hours, then it was cold. They brought out the wrong drinks. The bathrooms are horribly nasty due to their having no plumbing. They had a baby in the kitchen!? They insist you order something that you didn't when they bring the wrong item. Having read some of the not so great reviews of this restaurant, my wife in I went inside with some trepidation. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and so was the food. We split an order of bean and cheese nachos for an appetizer. My wife had the grilled shrimp salad and said it was very good. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was perfect. The breading was crispy and not greasy at all. I had a loaded baked potato and it too was good and hot. The only complaint I had is that we had the 19 Crimes red wine. It was ward and should be served around 60 - 65 degrees. read more

Love the rustic decor here! Be sure to notice the beautiful handmade shuffleboard table. A nice selection of beer on tap as well as bottled beers and some very good wines.
