    Interesting wrap on this one

A nice little hole in the wall icehouse with great staff and a decent list of drafts. However, going to knock off stars for the quality and timing of the food. 5 of us eating and our food came out individually with about 3-5 minutes apart each. The flatbreads were ok. The nachos were subpar and lost all their crispiness. You can see the frito wrap in the pic. I'm not sure how it turned out that way except maybe they might need some more practice on their folding. The ingredients were ok without much flavor. Good choice of beers but a little pricy for drafts.

This place has COLD beer, good food and most importantly GREAT service! All staff are top notch! Kristina was particularly great. Natalie too!

What a gem! If I didn't know better, I would have driven right by. The bartender was wonderful and knew her way around the bar. There were at least 3 full tables and quite a few people at the bar and she handled it like a pro. The flatbread pizza is delicious and they do all kinds of events with crawfish boils. Great place to watch a game or just hang out. The tables are bigger so don't worry if you have 6 people with you.

Super cute spot in Kerville. They always have great rotating craft beers on tap. They also a great menu, back bar section, and food. The staff is super friendly every time I come in. They host many fun pint nights as well. I think it's one of Kervilles hot spots to hang out. They open early and stay open late. Highly recommend a visit for a great beer and/or cocktail. Cheers!

Cool little bar. If I lived in Kerrville I'd be there quite a lot. Good selection of draft beers and friendly service.

He was so friendly and easygoing, but we knew he was putting in work! Tables inside and out and our food still came out quickly, and my water was always full! We started off with the gluten free Hong Kong lettuce wraps, and I almost smacked everyone's hands as they grabbed for another one! The antelope was so tender, not dry, and the sauce wonderfully balanced the side of slaw and savory ground antelope. Delicious! Hubby got the Green Goat Sliders, kiddo got the kid's pulled pork sandwich, and I got the gluten free Crispy Chicken Sammie on a GF bun. Everything was delicious! They undoubtedly know how to cook their meat perfectly! Sliders were very good, and my son devoured that pulled pork sandwich in minutes. The kid's sandwich was the same size as mine! The sliders looked great - just cooked so well, and the chimichurri was delicious (per my husband). While I was given the wrong sandwich, I did not care one single bit! A truly honest mistake, but if I even thought of complaining I'd hope someone would kick me right out, because everything about this meal was great! The right sandwich was so good. I love the slaw and Ruben dressing with the slightly crispy GF fried chicken patty. I like that the fried chicken wasn't heavily breaded - it kept it lighter and just enough of a crisp! I got the Greek salad as my side and WOW. I could eat that salad any day. I don't even like olives, but that salad needed them, and all of it was delicious. I loved the hummus on the bottom which was a great texture and added more substance to the salad. I could eat that salad all day every day. I don't know what feta they used, but it was soft and delightfully salty. So good. I can only imagine how good it is on their Brussel Sprouts which are also gluten free! I did snag one of my kiddo's fries which are also gluten free, and I love it when fries and crispy and brown and not overly seasoned, which these were. Tender inside and crispy outside, nice and browned and almost shoestring. Very, very good! With the great service, the lovely outdoor seating, and such delicious food, I would not hesitate driving back here to come eat again! I only wish the restaurant was a smidge bigger so more people at once could enjoy this fantastic establishment!

Featuring antelope meat in many of the dishes. While I didn't try it. I decided to go with the Mac and salad. Which was good! To drink, I tried the Sour cider. Service was excellent. Ohhh and for dessert crème brûlée was perfect! There is sitting outside. However, in August. Maybe not. Grape juice may look small from the outside. I think much of it has to do with what your expectations are when staying here. The hotel is retro western and reminds me of the days of Route 66 themed motels and roadside attractions. The lobby is a large room filled with taxidermy and old western artifacts like cattle brands, peacemakers, Remington style sculptures, etc. The attendants at the front desk were friendly and helped us get squared away with little fuss. We went to our first room and after walking in, we immediately turned back to the lobby to change rooms. The first room faced the parking lot, had some stains on the curtains, and overall didn't feel like a winner. Thankfully, they had a room facing the pool available and the interior was much nicer/cleaner. The room came with a balcony that overlooked the pool that ended up being a nice spot for late night chats with the mild weather we had. I'd strongly suggest getting the pool view because it was night and day from the outer perimeter room we started with. The floors of the hotel rooms are saltillo tiles, and from someone who has lived in many a saltillo tiled homes, keep your shoes on. It's so hard to clean the grout and tiles perfectly, and I'm sure the maids aren't on their hands and knees steaming and scrubbing between stays. Beyond the tile, the bathroom was clean, water pressure was fine. Bedding and furniture was clean. No big complaints. The restaurant was closed for renovations during our stay, which was a bummer. The bar was also closed during our stay because we came on Monday and left Wednesday morning. The bar's schedule is open every day except Monday and Tuesday. We used the pool while staying there and it was fine for sunbathing and a quick dip. The hot tub was closed for maintenance, but it was too hot out for using it anyhow. Long review short, if you like hotels with character, then you should have a fun stay. I'd say the YO is perfect for someone looking for a cheap stay (we paid $220 total for 2 nights) that doesn't mind tile floors, kitschy decor, and rooms with a little age. It's way more interesting than The Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express!

While the lobby area looks amazing, the experience in our room was a different story…read more During our stay in the Rio Grande section, we accidentally spilled some water on the tile floor. When my wife wiped it up, the towel came away black with filth. We addressed this concern with the front desk the following morning; the clerk was polite and understanding, assuring us she would notify housekeeping. We headed out for the day and returned mid-afternoon. While the room smelled of cleaner and there were visible damp spots on the floor, we decided to test the cleanliness ourselves. We wet a fresh towel and wiped the tile again--it came up just as black as the first time. At that point, we decided to cut our trip short and asked to check out two days early. The front desk staff remained professional and informed us that they would authorize a refund once Expedia contacted them. We were pleased to find that the refund was indeed approved two days later. Summary: Aside from the significant cleanliness issues, the rest of the experience was average. However, given the state of the floors, we would not choose to stay here again.

Overall, 1 of our favorite food stops on this trip! Our order consisted of 1 order of bang bang shrimp, 1 spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, a shared seared salmon dish (not pictured), 1 blackberry margarita (not pictured), & 1 blueberry mule (not pictured). For me, the best part of our order was the bang bang shrimp. If I get to go back I'll just order 2 of those & call it good! The spinach & artichoke appetizer was good, but offered a pretty standard flavor profile. The seared salmon was the best salmon dish I've tasted in a long time, paring nicely with the mashed potatoes & roasted veggies that came with it. Both cocktails were amazing, but my wife said the blackberry margarita was fantastic. The most negative thing about GH was extremely limited indoor seating availability & the lack of reservations, but now you've been warned. It was a short trip for us, but we will be back to GH on our next visit to Fredericksburg for sure.
