Truly nasty food truck. Probably the worst food I've ever had. The Mac and cheese was inedible and cold, and the fluorescent orange "cheese" tasted nothing like cheese. The BBQ Pork and chicken sandwiches were flavorless and gray, with very little meat or sauce, and a small side of chips. In addition, the prices are crazy AND the owner tried to SCAM me by overcharging me. When I pointed out the prices on her menu, she still shorted me $1, and I told her she still owed me a dollar. She scowled and handed me my other dollar with a sigh. Avoid this food truck at all costs. read more

Worst food truck experience I've ever had. Overpriced and tastes horrible. The truck says it's "organic" but it was very low quality meat and veggies. Also, the inside of the food truck looks unsanitary. I should have turned away once I saw it, but after waiting in line I decided to try it anyways. I felt sick later in the night. I ate here at the Monona Community Festival last night. The guy working in the food truck was friendly and outgoing, but the food was very disappointing and obviously overpriced. I paid $12 for a child-size portion of bland pulled pork mac n cheese and $2 for a bottle of Kirkland brand water. To be quite honest, I could have bought better quality water and more flavorful food at a gas station for a better price. read more

Tried food from the Jakarta BBQ Station as they came to my place of work and regretting it. Ordered the combination special which was pork, chicken on mac & cheese. The chicken was the worst I've had. There was no flavor at all and it seemed like it was cooked in a pressure cooker with no seasoning. The pork did not have much flavor either. The meat would have probably been better if they cooked it in the BBQ sauce. Mac and cheese was the best part which is sad because BBQ is all about meat/flavor. Only giving two stars due to portion size/mac and cheese. Would not try it again. read more

Wonderful food. The chicken curry with peanut hash browns is a sweet spicy delight; the beef dish was soft and tangy; the veggie spring rolls crispy on the outside and moist and tender inside. Then you should know about the delicious lemonade and the excellent smoothie. What a treat to escape to Southeast Asia for just the cost of a meal! read more

We ate at the Jakarta Cafe food truck last night at Sandburg Elementary, Madison, WI. It was a mix. The egg rolls were great. The Mango smoothie wasn't cold enough. There was no ice in it. So, the smoothie was too warm on a warm day. The chicken fried rice was too dry. The chicken was dry and the rice was very dry. My wife observed that the rice was cooked in a microwave. The chicken fried rice seemed old and had sat for a while. $20. read more

Food is mediocre at best. Prices are outrageously high. Ordered spring rolls. Turns out they're fried tiny egg rolls. They came with no dipping sauce , so we asked for sauce for said spring rolls and they claimed to have nothing but hot sauce available. Yes they provided a dipping sauce with our order of dumplings moments later - wtf? We had already eaten the so called spring rolls, which were bland and boring without any sauce. The chicken curry was all white rice with 3 tiny pieces of chicken and a few potatoes for $10. Not tasty. $9 mango salad was pieces of mushy mango over iceberg lettuce, covered with what appeared to be craisins and copious amounts of super spicy sauce. Overall, crummy food, outrageous prices. Total rip off for food that is mediocre at best. Chicken curry is $10 for something that is nearly all rice, and the curry is almost all cheap root vegetables with an off flavor. And when you order, the server asks if you want spring roll like it comes with it but it's actually a separate $6 thing. And then she gives you your change with singles like she deserves a tip. Ordered from the food truck on 3 different occasions. First. I noticed when i paid with Cash I was told the correct amount due. However, when I paid with Credit card, I noticed an additional $2.50 charge that wasn't accounted for. Today, I caught the owner RED Handed adding an additional $2.50. I told her to take the charge off. I asked what the charge was for and she said "The Coleslaw (quietly)", well the $10 meal I purchased came with a side! She took the charge off and charged me the correct amount. OH, and it was not a tip either because her tip basket was right in front of me...smh, will never recommend to friends and the chicken is very dry! read more

I signed up for Yelp to review this shithole. The vegetarian curry had literally NO vegetables in it. Just peanuts and some hashbrown shreds. The worker (Maggie?) tried very hard to upsell me on the veggie rolls, which was annoying after waiting in line 20 minutes. Yes, this is the slowest food truck I've ever been to, despite serving no food that was made to order. The rice sucked, the "fresh salad" were a few leafs of extremely unfresh iceberg lettuce and cucumber. Might be the worst meal I've eaten in 2016. Owner should probably never cook again in their life. read more
