I visited Luang Prabang, a Lao-Thai cart on Library Mall, a few times earlier this year. They had a…read moreregular menu that included curries, noodles, and salads, but also a rotating daily menu, all at very affordable prices. The people working at the cart were really nice and accommodating, and were happy to modify any dish they could for ingredients that you can't or don't eat. The first thing I tried was the squash curry, which was a really generous portion size for $7, consisting of rice topped with a rich coconut milk-based curry filled with chicken, kabocha, and zucchini. It was really filling and tasty. But the real winner from the cart after a few visits was the avocado spring roll, which was $3.50 and the size of a burrito. It was basically a giant fresh roll filled with avocado, lettuce, cabbage, mint, rice noodles, cucumber, carrot, and peanut sauce. We got the medium spicy sauce, and it had a fantastic kick to it. Still can't believe something so large was only a few dollars, as it was such a great deal. Definitely worth trying this cart if you're looking for something to eat on campus.

Part old-school Texas service station, part Día de los Muertos fever dream, this Mexican joint…read morerolls into town with plenty of personality and absolutely no interest in being boring. Think vintage roadside charm colliding with Texas-sized Mexican soul, where the colorful lights glow overhead and every corner feels like a celebration of some sort. It's a little gritty, a little festive, and a whole lotta fun--like your favorite roadside pit stop got dressed up for a fiesta and decided never to go home. Expect bold colors, quirky details, Texas swagger, and an atmosphere that says "pull up a chair, grab a cold one, and stay awhile." I have to say their Cadillac Margarita rolls in with serious Texas-Mexican swagger. Made with Don Julio Reposado Tequila and a generous splash of Grand Marnier, this beauty is smooth, citrusy, and unapologetically grown-up. It's better than any Margarita I have had in quite a while. Tubbs Fajitas aren't like your typical sub-par fajitas, they come to the table sizzling, smoky, and ready to cause a little commotion. My favorite protein is the Green Chile Chicken, they let the sautéed peppers and onions bring that sweet, savory fajita magic to life, Texas style! Overall, this place is just a great time. It's colorful, quirky, loud in all the right ways, and packed with enough Texas-Mexican personality to keep things interesting. The food comes out hot and full of flavor, the margaritas are legit, and the atmosphere practically dares you not to have fun. Cheers!

Last I reviewed TTTP I wasn't yet living here so I thought it was time for a refresh…read more We have been here many times over the last six years and have found the food, drink and service to be consistently good. We have also discovered their happy hour which is a good deal. Often I get a selection of their tacos most recently the lime shrimp, beef brisket & al pastor. All were tasty. I have also become a fan of the Frito burrito which is very good and huge! Prices are reasonable. This place is always welcoming and why we keep returning.

Catered an all-ages picnic for 56 but I ordered for 50 heads because a dozen were young kids…read more Ordered brisket, chicken, BBQ sauce, beans, slaw, and mac & cheese. There was plenty left over. The food was delivered 21 minutes away, arriving exactly at the promised time, 100% complete, with some trays still too hot to touch. I included bread & supplies with the order, and the delivery included plenty of serving spoons & tongs, utensils, plates, & napkins. Brisket and sauce were fantastic. The chicken needs work--dry and low flavor. The hamburger buns were very bready and big, too big for many. The sides were fun and interesting new flavors. The slaw was tasty-tangy but very white--challenging those who like their vegetables green. Sorry folks. The beans were super popular. I would get them again, all of those sides. But the chicken...you might go in and taste-test it first. On the front end, it was so easy to arrange for this catering through the website and email. The communication was prompt and accurate. Changes, inquiries, and payment were handled seamlessly. I arranged for this food from long distance, and Beef&Butter really came through. It's a little more expensive than some other Madison options but in the end I was really happy to support this business and the people running it. I wish them great success in the future.

Nice place. Ambience is typical BBQ joint vibe and was clean…read more Had the brisket, jalapeno cheddar sausage, coleslaw and baked beans. The sausage is a rock star - it was fantastic. Sides were pretty good too. However, I have to say the brisket was a bit of a disappointment - it was way overcooked, like it had been smoked at too high of a temperature. It was edible but really dry. Just overcooked or held too long. Had to douse it in sauce to eat it which is a total shame. Would have been a 5 star rating if not for the brisket. I'd come back again, maybe when they were busier.
