The theatre opened in 1915 as a vaudeville theatre and later became a cinema and concert venue. I have been to the Strand several times for concerts and live shows. It's a small venue with a busy calendar and very expensive concessions. It used to be called Lupo's until 2017 when it was renamed the Strand. The few times I've been, the shows have not started on time and they are not very good telling you what the delay is about....nevertheless, it's a place for live music for young and old to get entertained.

Myrtle, which I think is one of the coolest bars I've ever seen (it has its own in-house boutique!) was packed this morning. They served a $15 brunch which looked great but, since I had just eaten breakfast, I chose to forego and enjoyed a delicious Irish coffee ($12) instead. This might be my go-to bar from now on. Loosely inspired by a true story, One Providence Place is an original 90-minute musical dramedy about art, grief, family, and the most carpeted mall in America. The space- Black Box: The Black Box is a nice little space nestled all the way to the right of AS220. Enough to fit about 30-40 audience members. Every seat is a good seat and it has it's own bathrooms. The play: It was more drama than comedy. I was not expecting that. After re-reading the description, they advertised it as dealing with grief and it was more a play about exactly that. I wanted it to be more comical and closer to the actual story. It wasn't my cup of tea but Kudos where judos is deserved. Someone had a vision and they went after it! Everyone knew their lines, their was some excitement, there were songs, they used their space well. Overall a dedicated group of artists did their craft and kudos to them. I always appreciate bathroom art.

I hope the Fete continues to book small, medium &hopefully some day larger bands.

I was rocking Malibu and pineapple all night. Heavy handed with the pour, thanks, but still had flavor. The show was set up with chairs. Thanks for the option but I wanted to stand. People did what they wanted but it was nice that a dance floor area right in front of the stage was left open for when Kid Charlemagne hit!
