[[HIGHLIGHT]]Had a lovely time here had dinner with family[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Food was very good and service was good as well. Hopefully we'll get back there while visiting family again

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Went on Valentine's day the ambience was very nice, we requested a table with a view of the river which our hostess gladly gave us![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was amazing, our server was nice, very attentive, and check on us often. The bread rolls were free and amazing very warm and fresh, our server even gave us 12 rolls to go (for free) after we asked with extra butter!! The chicken marsala was tasty very juicy only complaint is the breading got really mushy on the bottom and was a tiny bit too salty. Mushroom Risotto was ok the rice seemed undercooked but taste was good. And the Ribeye was too fatty and a little dry but the loaded mashed potatoes were amazing! Not pictured here is the cheese curds which might have been the BEST part, MUST TRY crispy juicy cheesy comes with ranch they were amazing! Overall worth it will definitely come back.

Our meal was absolutely great! From burgers, to shrimp, to prime rib, the meal was excellent! Proportions were also excellent! Kinsey our waitress, provided a really great experience! She accommodated our needs really well and she played along with my joking so well, she is also a great photographer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Jakes is the epitome of the Wisconsin Supper Club and the river views makes the atmosphere top notch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend Jakes and if she is working, request Kinsey! She deserves a raise!

Jake's was always a treat when I went to college at Stout in the 90s. Came back for homecoming after 24 years and decided to celebrate my birthday with friends at Jake's. It didn't disappoint. We started off with cheese curds for an appetizer, which weee yummy. Most of the table ordered the 15oz ribeye streak for their meal and I ordered the prime rib and shrimp special. Coming from Scottsdale, Arizona, couldn't believe the great prices of the items. Our server Zoe was great, so patient with our group, there was 11 of us. The other servers, runners, and managers worked together to get our food and drinks out in a timely manner. The brownie I got for my birthday was delicious.

Went here for a nice dinner with my son after visiting him at UW- Stout this weekend. Wanted something other than bar food or fast food! Starting with our initial impression: beautiful view from the deck - can't wait to come back when it's warm again! Would recommend reservations if coming on a weekend- will have to wait for a table, but there is a bar. Speaking of which, cant ever go wrong with a real Wisconsin Old Fashioned. The drink menu lists a Jameson orange old fashioned -- I tried it on the advice of our server, and while it was ok, doesn't compare to the real thing. The menu is expansive and reasonable prices. The prime rib was melt in your mouth tender... the salad was good, too-- cold and crisp. My som had the garlic alfredo pasta and loved it, too. The only reasons I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is the wait time to get our bill... nearly 30 min, though the waiter was swamped.

Very relaxed Supper Club!!! Great food, service, & prices. The wait staff and bartenders are as talented as they are attractive!!! Specific days are: Mondays: 2 for 1 cocktails, Thursdays: Old Fashions and Manhattans $3 a tub, and anytime the Packers are playing!!! Always a great place to stop!

As a Supper Club aficionado, Jake's is at the top of our list. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love, the warm Wisconsin ambience, excellent window-view dining and cozy bar area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was amazing with handsome portions, and the prices were just right. Our server, Johnny, was absolutely the best ever, really enhanced our dining experience here.

We had a very nice meal at Jake's Supper Club in Menomonie. The decor was fun and inviting. We started with the special Jameson Old Fashioneds to celebrate our daughter in law's graduation. Then on to the hand battered cheese curds that were light and gooey as they should be. For dinner, we had the walleye with mixed veg and the pork chop special with a twice baked. The walleye was really good. The pork chop was also tasty though we did have to ask for them to cook it more thoroughly. We ended the night with grasshopppers which were excellent. We hope to come back when the outdoor patio is open!

Glad to know that Jake's remains a classic Wisconsin supper club. We came for an early dinner on a Saturday. Service was quality by an experienced wait staff. Seated by the window and decor was very nice. I had salmon over rice with vegetables. Also French onion soup. Everything was terrific! The dinner rolls remain warm and great crust. (We may have gone overboard in our carb indulgences!) My husband had queen cut prime rib special, hash browns and a salad. His meat was cooked properly medium rare (as he requested) and food was very flavorful. His only critique was serving size of hash browns was rather small. We had to finish the wonderful meal with after dinner ice cream drinks. Oh so good!!! Truly great place to dine.

Fish Fry was great, walleye dinner delicious! Server Meshal was excellent and friendly. Sat outside by the river, very kid friendly! Parking lot was full but wasn't a long wait at all.

12/8/2024…read more To the owners of the Pioneer Grill and Saloon: There are numerous benefits to living in a smaller community. We can be connected to our neighbors, engaged in local events and genuinely help those that are hurting or in a tragic season of life. On the other hand, a side effect of being a part of a smaller city is that word travels fast-extremely fast. During the afternoon of Wednesday, November 27th, a group of CNAs went out to enjoy some much-needed relaxation, beverages and food. They chose the Pioneer in Menomonie to engage in their time of relaxation. The group consisted of two travel CNAs from the south, and one from Nebraska. The women played some music and kept to themselves, for their well-deserved down time. Early on, an unruly female patron decided to come up to them loudly, making disparaging comments regarding their ethnicity and race. Because this was in the afternoon, and not a typical packed bar during the night, these comments were heard by your employees. The comments made were pertaining to the type of music the CNAs had chosen to play in reference to their race. Because the behavior was not addressed by your employees, the situation then escalated. The female patron at this point decided to spit in the face of the CNA from Nebraska. I'm not a fool and I understand racism does, sadly still exist. What is foolish is that your employees should be trained to address such behavior (instead of ignoring it), to quell it to the point of stopping it or to ask the obnoxious patron to leave the establishment because "The Pioneer does not tolerate racism." None of this was done this past Wednesday, therefore, you have now upset new customers, and this story is making its rounds in our small community. The travel CNAs are the ONLY reason our local care facilities can operate in Menomonie. We cannot attract local help to even remotely staff them. These women and men are thousands of miles away from their loved ones for months on end, missing holidays and important milestones with their families to take care of our loved ones. They perform back breaking labor, completing tasks for those who can no longer care for themselves. To put it plainly, these CNAs are angels on earth. To say I am embarrassed and ashamed of the treatment they received at the Pioneer Grill and Saloon, would be an understatement. I cannot remedy a disgusting incident that took place in the past, but I can have a hand in advocating how they need to be treated in the future. Regardless of skin color, we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Therefore, I am asking for a full apology to all three women, and that their charges for their drinks and food be reimbursed. If these two small asks are not honored quickly, I can only logically conclude that the Pioneer feels they did nothing wrong by ignoring this hostile, repulsive situation that took place, and that the CNAs experience needs to be shared far and wide so that others do not patronize this establishment. Afterall, we all have different skin tones in this wonderful, small community, which is part of what makes Menomonie a great place to live. And that means any of us could be the next person accosted in your business if this behavior is allowed to continue. Please make the right decision.
