Nice place to stop outside Eau Claire. As we were driving through, chose this based on some comments on Yelp. Definitely doesn't look like much, and decor inside is dated, but that is what I would expect from a bar or supper club. Bartender was very nice as we waited for our table. Made a good old-fashion. Salad bar was pretty basic, but mostly had what we needed. Fish was very good. I am also a tartar sauce snob, so I would rate this highly based on that. Service was fine. I have eaten here several times and their Friday Fish Fry is great. However, on Thursday I went there with a friend and ordered 2 rib eye steaks each $30. They were absolutely TERRIBLE. Very tough, thin and full of gristle. In hindsight I should have sent them away when I was having trouble cutting the meat. That's on me. I like this place and it's too bad they don't see the value in serving a quality steak. I recommend them for fish, just not a place to order a steak. I did bring it to the attention of the waitress who made excuses but offered NO compensation. Sad! read more

Celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner and drinks. Have not been here for a long time. Seated immediately on a Thursday night. Friendly capable server Alicia. She was considerate in her timing in attending to us. Salad bar was fresh and variety of items. I loved the house dressing. Homemade croutons were greasy. Chicken noodle soup was good. I had baked walleye and hash browns. Tasty. Husband had ribeye with mushrooms and baked potato. Steak done properly, was tender, a bit fatty but price point was decent. We treated ourselves to brandy old fashioned and Bear Hug ice cream drink for dessert. Delish! Restaurant was clean and comfy. They don't take credit/debit which is a bit of a pain but we knew that coming into the place. read more

I was not going to post this then found out a friend had the same experience. I was meeting my sister and brother-in-law for dinner. I got there early so put on my big girl pants and went in alone. I went to bar to get a drink and was totally ignored. They looked at me but would not wait on me. Even the person next to me was surprised I could get no service. There was a bartender and another women I believe to be the owner. I finally sat at a table to wait and put in my name for a table. I asked the owner if they take drink orders at the tables. She told me to get it from the bar but she was too busy now. Mind you this was 4:15 and 3/4's of their tables were empty. The rest of the evening was nice. The perch was wonderful and the salad bar was great. The server was very nice. read more

Most might consider this a dive, but the food was incredible, people were friendly and seem to genuinely want you to have a great experience. Drinks were good and the walleye was outstanding. Highly recommended! read more

Great Service and good. This review covers two Friday night fish fry nights. It is very busy on Friday nights. The fish fry is excellent. They have the standard baked or deep-fried cod, but they also have perch and walleye dinner. The first that I had the perch, was not very many places offer. It was fantastic. On the second night I had a walleye which was a very large portion and delicious. My wife had the card on both nights and found it to be very delicious. Sides include your choice of potato. I had the Hashbrowns both times. There are two small salad bars. Each one has a different type of soup. They're located in different parts of the restaurant. They have a few beers on tap and more local beers in cans. The bourbon old-fashioned is delicious. Although not called a supper club, this place really fits the bill for a classic Wisconsin supper club. Definitely going back. And I'll bring friends are for the quintessential Wisconsin Friday night fish fry. read more

Thank you for having a salad bar! This place is crazy on Fridays because it's worth the wait. Friday fish fry options- cod and shrimp and includes coleslaw and potato options. Well this review has 2 parts the first I would have given a 5 star rave review staff and food were awesome since the first time we tried, now switch until 3 weeks ago we went and had one of the worst meals I have ever had in a restaurant and now this weekend 05/13/23 again one of the worst experiences we have had in a restaurant bartender had to lookup a 2 ingredient drink which is very basic (LOL) sour and amoretto so combined I'll have to rate a 2 star We do not know what changed but something definitely which is really to bad Hopefully it will get better read more

We went for Fri day night fish fry. It was busy & load. Bartender was awesome. Efficient & polite. 30 minute wait which wasn't a big deal. I ordered Cajun baked cod. My husband ordered baked shrimp. The salad bar was ok, items needed to be refilled/refreshed. Wait for our food was average. My cod was cooked & tasty but barely warm. It had sat for quite sometime before being brought out. Husbands "baked" shrimp tasted like it was boiled in water. I want to give them another chance as my neighbor Insists this restaurant is awesome. This was not a case of not enough employees. Took our family of 6 (with kids) to this restaurant for the Friday fish fry. Place was hoppin'. We arrived about 5:20pm and weren't seated until almost 7pm. Overall good fish fry ... nice crispy fried cod, flavorful perch platter, well cooked walleye. Good value for what you get -food and drinks. My wife and I are in our 50s and have lived in Wisconsin all our life's So we are definitely Friday night fish fry lovers, if you can find a good one!! and it can be hard to do. Take it from us this is definitely far from a good Friday night fish fry dinner. We have to say the salad bar was OK and the service was good. Where to start? Friday night fish fry's Excellent, love the salad bar and sitting on the deck on summer nights is a great way to beat the massive crowd inside. Only thing that tops that is Saturday night prime rib, the best I've had in years, Salad bar was great as usual and the homemade soups are wonderful. The quality of ingredients from here is so-so, which is the primary reason for 2 stars. The pizza crust is processed, and not something they make in-house. Honestly, we can cook better at home. Great surprise to find on way back from Mayo hospital. Driven by 100 times and decided to stop on a Tuesday late afternoon. Owner was bartending, very friendly. Drinks are good and fair priced. 3.50 for a good glass of moscato, can't beat that! Patrons are friendly too, which is very important to me. I hate walking into a small town area and being stared at first, then ignored. They have daily specials you can get to go. I got chicken strips to take. Awesome! Enough for 2 meals. $8.00. Got called to Eau Claire unexpected on Friday, stopped for a wine and more of those chicken strips to go. Beware of fish night! Very busy, good for them. Get there early! They are prepared though, extra help to seat and serve as soon as they can. Be patient, they're doing their all to please you. BRING CASH, THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS! Don't count on the ATM, there's so many people taking money out I was afraid it would run out before I got my cash. I didn't know they didn't take credit either.
