I did a Super Club tour of northern Wisconsin visiting a different restaurant each night. After a week of eating at legendary places, it was clear to me that the Wilson Creek Inn was the best of the bunch. I highly recommend it! The building is classic Wisconsin wood finished but with a modern feel to it. The interior space is clean and very inviting. The wood work is intricate. They have several dining areas, plus an upstairs space for private parties and a nice bar area to begin and end your visit. I loved all the food on both visits. On Friday they offer surf & turf. It includes a 6 ounce wagyu steak and three large grilled shrimp. The wagyu beef is sourced locally. It was all delicious. The cocktails and wine are at a higher level than other Super Clubs. The service was top notch. The owners, Jim and Kim are super friendly. Everything about Wilson Creek is exemplary. Try it some night for dinner! read more

I was very disappointed in my dinner at Wilson Creek! The popover was over cooked and the butter had a refrigerator taste. Next, I had the shrimp. Not only was it not warm it was undercooked. Wow. The ribeye was amazing. End of review. Ok, just kidding. But this was the best ribeye I've had in a long time, and it is my steak of choice at steakhouses and supper clubs. Expertly prepared in cast iron. The popovers were delicious with cinnamon butter. The old fashioned had mulled spices type of flavor. I like it. Two in our party didn't dig it as much. Great service. We've gone there twice for special occasions. The first time, even though we had reservations, we waited almost 20 minutes to have a server visit our table. We had to ask two times to see if we could get service. The food was very good that night, the service not so much. The second time we were waited on very well but my wife's martini was very weak, although expensive. I had the smoked prime rib and it wasn't very good. We ate here for the first time tonight. It was just busy enough that you needed a reservation or you could sit at the bar. We were fine with that. Actually that was a lucky break. Our bartender was the best! I feel bad that I didn't catch his name but he carried himself as if he owned the place. Terrific personality and super service! We had the prime rib bites for an app. Different but very good. I had the baked walleye and my girl had the filet. Everything was awesome! The atmosphere was really nice. Very quaint. We'll be back. Have eaten at Wilson Creek Inn numerous times and the service and the food were great. We went there this past weekend for their prime rib and it was horrible. The cook, I am going not to call them a chef needs to go back to school. When we received our food the vegetables were obviously frozen and were served lukewarm. The Lyonnaise potatoes were nothing but hash browns with a little cheese and no seasonings. The prime rib was served cold and was almost impossible to cut our chew. On the upside, our server was fantastic, but we will NEVER eat there again. read more

Full review below: Our host greeted us nicely, host was also our waitress. -Waters arrived promptly iced tea not so much. Ordered the Saturday special prime rib 10oz with vegetable side and side salad with blue cheese dressing. -Salads arrived promptly, salads were all greens no lettuce. -1 -prime rib 10oz arrived in delayed, looked presentable, medium cook temp. Was hard to cut, could have been smoked longer, found a full garlic clove in rib, meat was very tissuey. -1 -side carrots were ok, half were burnt, broccoli was hard to eat, over done. -1 -utensils seemed low grade, stake knife didn't cut well. Would like to see upgrade. -atmosphere was casual, baby was crying, goldfish tank wasn't impressive. Atmosphere needs work. 2 specials was about $70 with tip. Felt like the meat should have been a grade better at this price. Would pay more if the food was better. Overall a pleasurable experience. Wouldn't recommend to a friend. Went here with my boyfriend. We had a wonderful experience. Our waitress was super nice and so sweet. I ordered steak and my boyfriend got the chicken parm. Both were delicious! Also their house popover is amazingggggg. We went around 5pm on a weekday and it was almost completely empty inside, so it made it a nice and quiet dinner to enjoy. We also got their clam chowder. It was also very good. Only minor complaint was that the soup was not warm enough. It was almost room temperature, however the soup itself was still delicious. Def recommend! read more

A little secret, this is the Zanzibar crew. Yep 10 of them. Same great two Chefs included. While not Zanzibar eclectic it's a wholesome supper club. It's warm, friendly and familiar. Red snapper tonight was off the hook. read more

My first visit to Wilson Creek Inn with a friend who had been there previously and thought it was worth going back. We had a few Old Fashioneds - a combination of traditional and the specialty Wilson Creek variety. Both were excellent. We started with the cheese curds, which were handmade with light batter and an very tasty dill/ranch type of dip. The we had the clam chowder and salad, which were also very tasty. The popovers were a nice hold over from previous renditions of this venue. We both had the Walleye with delicious charred vegetables and Lyonnaise potatoes. We both had some to take home as well. The service was good - it was a packed house on an early Saturday evening - presumably Menomonie's prom night and a private event in the upstairs room. Great to have a quality traditional supper club option in Menomonie and to support a local business. read more

I made my first visit a week ago and was so impressed! The inside of this Supper Club is surrounded by amazing woodwork and decor. And great classic music playing in the bar area. I had the ribeye and scallops with lyonnaise potatoes, veggies and a side salad. The steak and scallops were prepared to perfection. And the lyonnaise potatoes...oh my!!! So in summary, great decor, excellent food experience...and the bottled beer is ice cold. If you're from Menomonie, you should be eating here twice a week minimum. Menomonie has not had a dining experience like the Wilson Creek Inn since the Bolo Inn. The best best the area has to offer! The atmosphere is bright and cheerful, the food presentation delightful and the food delicious and savory. The service was friendly and attentive. The Chef prepared my shrimp and scallops in a cast iron pan and he nailed it! Green beans and carrots with a perfect baked potato accompanied with a unique whipped cottage cheese, wow was that cool. Even the trademark Bolo Inn popover done to perfection. No doubt Jim and Kim will be packing 'em in with this menu and service. Worth the drive from anywhere for any reason. Also, looking forward to watching Badgers Football in the upstairs Stella's Bar, you out did yourself on this one Jim. Going back next week for the Ribeye. read more

We had a 7:00 reservation for a group of 4. Waitress was sub par, would stop ask a quick question and ignore the empty drink glasses and walk away before we could ask for another drink. She would disappear for long stretches of time and constantly left empty dishes on our table even if she did stop and saw them. We ordered some appitizers they were pretty good. Got our soup, French onion. It was lukewarm, the cheese wouldn't melt and had very little flavor. Then the wait for our food began. It was over an hour between our soup and our food coming out, and they weren't even that busy. Had the food been good it would of been okay. Steaks were over cooked, potatoes were still rock hard, veggies were black they were so over cooked, and to top it off most of it was room temp. 3/4 of everyone's meal got left at the table because it wasn't even worth it to take it home. My girlfriend and I stopped in the WCI about 5-6 weeks ago and ordered the walleye and red snapper. We had heard great things about this place and wanted to try it out. Our high hopes soon exploded like the Hindenburg as both our dinners were poor at best. My walleye had little flavor and about halfway through began tasting fishy. My date's red snapper wasn't much better, and she had lived in Florida for a time and knew how red snapper should taste. Her meal was far off base and we told our server about it, but nothing was done about it. Now I know even the best spots have their off nights and perhaps this was one of them. I really wanted this to be a good experience, since it's nice to have a supper club back in Menomonie. The WCI is no Bolo at this point, but, we will give it another try, but will try one of their meat options or chicken. If that fails, well thank god for the Roadhouse 25 up in Wheeler. They have quite possibly the best prime rib, along with the rest of their menu in this area. I do hope WCI comes around for us the next visit. We decided to go eat here with a couple of close friends to take them out to dinner. We had eaten there when it was Skoogs which was fabulous. That is not the experience we had with Wilson Creek Inn & Restaurant. The waitress was nice and prompt but when she brought out the popovers and served them to us they were burnt. She should have not even brought them out. Not very appetizing. My salad was okay but tasted like the lettuce had not been washed. The soup that my husband had was so hot he couldn't eat it. When it sat for a while and he could eat it he said it wasn't very good and that everything was chopped so small it was like baby food. It only got worse upon receiving our dinner. First our male friend ordered a pork chop which was so dry he could barely swallow it without liquid and so tough he could barely cut it with his knife. His wife tried to take a bite off the bone instead of cutting it and her dentures stuck in the meat and fell out, said it was dry and tough. She ordered shrimp and scallops which had no seasoning on it and was very bland. My husband ordered the walleye, the first bite he took was three bones!!! Ugh!!! I tried it and it was over cooked and no flavor his plate also had soooo much grease on it it was gross. What a disappointment. The walleye that Skoogs had was incredible. I ordered Shrimp scampi. Was suppose to be with homemade pasta, I'm a cook so I can tell that it was not made from scratch. The sauce that comes on the shrimp was soooo full of wine I couldn't eat it. My girl friend that was there took a bite and she said the same thing. I could have gotten drunk off that dish - note to chef it's suppose to be a hint of wine not the whole bottle. It was not cooked off at all. I told the waitress and she went and talked to the so called Chef and then came back and said that he said he cooked it off. I told her to taste it and tell me what she thought, of course she wasn't going to do that. She asked if I wanted something else so I told her I would have pasta with shrimp and a white sauce (alfredo or something). She brought me back a new plate of another disappointment. The sauce had chunks of flour in it and had separated. The whole dish tasted like flour yuk! I again had my friend taste it and she spit it out. It was terrible. The waitress asked how it was and I told her I couldn't even comment. I said look at it it's full of flour chunks and is separated and was disgusting. She walked away and never offer anything else. I asked for a togo box so I could take it home to give to my dog beings they billed me for it. The pricing was very high. I would gladly pay over $120.00 for 4 people if the food was exceptional but it wasn't. We will never eat there again. Maybe the chef from Skoogs should give the Wilson Creek restaurant chef some lessons. 4 customers that were very disappointed. If I could give it a zero I would have. read more
