Food is great as always. Wait staff is horrible! Our waitress (tall, huge brown hair) sat right across from us playing on her phone for five minutes before getting up to ask what we wanted to drink. She is always super hateful. All of them SERIOUSLY need some customer service training. read more

This is a great restaurant to go to for lunch. The salsa they provide with the chips is really spicy, so if you're not used to eating really spicy foods like me, keep a glass of water handy. The food is great, service is friendly, and prices are very reasonable. It's clean, fairly comfortable, and a great place to eat with friends. During lunch time it can get pretty crowded, but I've really had trouble getting a table. read more

The food is quick and good 90% of the time. The last couple times I've ordered food for myself, the pork street tacos have been very dry and flavorless. The beef can be chewy but that's normal. The workers, while not overly talkative, are very attentive and get your food quick as can be. read more

This place's food is really good! I had the Chicken Fajita Enchiladas and they were fantastic! Their fajitas are the best thing on the menu! The white queso is also really good! When we come to the lake, this place is our Mexican food place of choice. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because it could be a little cleaner but it's not too bad. My husband wanted to try this place for years. We finally decided to try it since we moved to Oklahoma. Boy were we disappointed. The waiter that waited our table was rude. We had to wait a long time for our food. The decor at our table looked like it hadn't be dusted or deep cleaned ever. It was really kind of gross, if the front where customers are eating is dirty, I can only imagine what the back where the kitchen is looks like. The food was mediocre. EVERYTHING is GREAT! First time visit to Lake Texoma area, and we were just looking for a new experience - not a chain restaurant. We found Jalapeños with good reviews and were not disappointed. The options are VAST and the entrees HUGE! 6 of us all ordered different things and had so much food left over. The Mexican Egg Rolls are meant to be shared!! (The chili relleno is not battered like we're used to in Texas, but still amazing!) Service was exceptional, price is right! LOVED IT! read more

The Mexican food choices in this part of the country are limited, and this one was just OK. The restaurant is oddly shaped with small hallways, awkward spaces, and the 4-top tables were just too small. The restaurant looked a little run down, and a little dirty from the traffic they had seen on the holiday weekend. Other than that the food was decent, they had a good sized menu, and interesting specials. We visit this part of the country specifically for our grandparents, and if we are back this restaurant wont be my first pick, but also wont be a restaurant I go to kicking and screaming. read more

The food is average, place is dirty and service is horrible! Our bill was $64.11 split 2 ways. The other party was charged $30.85 and they charged me $35.15!!! I could not make them (Juan, the owner's young son and our waitress, Jennifer) understand that that did not equal $64.11!!! I finally just paid it because it was like arguing with a wall... If you're a fan of authentic mexican food and don't care about the decor, this is the place for you. Mexican owned and operated, the cuisine is top-notch. Do yourself a favor and try the Dinner For One (which should be called "dinner for three". Honorable mention is Juan's Fajitas (beef or chicken, bacon, mushrooms, jack cheese served with all the fixin's.) The service is so-so and the wait-staff is primarily college students but the kitchen is as authentic as it comes. The Mexican Tacos are just like those you would find at any taqueria or street vendor in mexico: steak, cilantro and onions on a corn tortilla. read more

It was rated good so we thought we would try it. Don't know why it is rated so high. It is a dive kind of place which sometimes are the best, not this time and it was pretty messy. Our menus had food residue on them. They probably have the biggest menu I've seen, which is kind of overwhelming. The margaritas were very weak. Both of our dishes were pretty bland, not the good flavors one would expect. We ordered guacamole to start off with but never received it. There was only one waitress for the entire place so the service was pretty slow. The portions were good size and not too expensive but overall a bummer. read more

Fantastic mexican food and I choose five stars based on the choices for the area. After traveling all over North America for eight years I enjoy coming home to Durant for dinner at Jalepenos. All the different types of fajitas are amazing, Dinner for One and Juan's fajitas are my favorite and the service is great as well. The place is filthy! I don't know how they aren't shut down. They use the same rag to clean everything. I witnessed a boy vomit then the waiter didn't wash his hands before helping someone else. Fly's are every where! My father had the fajitas for one and was sick 20 minutes after eating. I will not go back and I advise others not to go. read more

I wasn't too trilled with the restaurant. The food was just ok, and the prices were higher than comparative restaurants in the area. However, even though I wasn't impressed with the food, the service was AMAZING!!!! Within 30 seconds of sitting down, we had our drinks, chips, and salsa. My biggest recommendation would be to have a few lower priced items for people with smaller appetites like myself. Portions were adequate. read more

Large menu selection. Red salsa excellent & green salsa too hot for me. Chips not greasy. Margaritas terrible lime-aid green concoction so many seem to think is the real thing!! Enormous portions of fajitas. Hubbie & I ordered different single portions and brought home enough for 3 more people. Tortillas very good. Rice tasteless. Charro beans good but too spicy for me. I gave this place a second chance only to find out they hadn't improved since the last visit. Only good thing is we got our chips and salsa immediately upon sitting down. We were sitted right under the large screen TV which made it difficult to see the TV and couldn't have a conversation because of the TV volume was high. The food came out COLD! I tried to flag down my server but she never came back to check on us, check if we needed refill on drinks, if our food was okay, etc. And the knife had 'something' stuck on it when I got it out of the rolled up napkin to use initially. Order fajitas! The fajitas are delicious. They have many combinations to choose from for every taste. We always get dinner for one that has chicken, steak and shrimp with lots of veggies(broccoli). I don't know how they make the broccoli taste so good! The other food is merely ok. The service is great, very nice people. We eat here regularly. read more

Very good fajitas and alot of different versions. Chips are thick and hard rather than crunchy and...if you like HOT salsa, you'll love theirs. Rest of thw food ive tried pretty good. Not amazing....but good. Dive of a dining room and usually one server for the whole place ( like 12 tables ). My favorite Mexican place ever! They actually spend all day preparing and marinating their food. Everything is carefully seasoned. the next best place in town is bland and overpriced. The portions are huge and the owner actually drives a long way once a week for their seafood so he can have the freshest product available in the area. The prices used to be average but they just reduced many of their items and stopped charging for the queso. I recommend the Salvador Special. Although it says it comes with chicken or beef I usually sub in shrimp and bacon. Try it sometime! read more
