I always give places at least 2 tries and I did so with Jalisco. This place is alright, a little underwhelming. The first time we ordered I was able to try a quesadilla, burrito, and salchipapas carne. Everything had a mild taste, nothing stuck out as delicious but it also wasn't bad. I ordered again last night and went with the Colombiana burger and salchipapas carne. Again, a little underwhelming. I realized that the fries just taste a little stale and the meat is a little over cooked. The colombiana burger, however, was better than the quesadilla for sure! It had a great little flavor with all the sauces and instead of a ground meat the patty was more of a steak-like patty. Was so pumped to try the tacos here after so many positive reviews and am sorry to say they fell short. Ordered the asada and pastor tacos on the later side of the evening and was underwhelmed. The asada was fair though lacking that nice char, but the pastor... was seriously lacking flavor. I also found the most giant piece of pineapple in the taco, looking like it came straight out of a fruit cup... I get pineapple is part of the pastor flavor, but I am not expecting a huge chunk in my taco. I must admit I have yet to have a positive taco experience in the South Florida area - given my previous experiences in southern California and Mexico set the benchmark perhaps unfairly... and my standards are now high. In my opinion the food truck was located in a good area considering there was a dollar store right in front ready to supply you with the extra chips and drinks you need. I've tried the Mega Burrito, the burger (with egg and all the sauces), tacos, perros (hot dogs), and the chimichanga and they've been all delicious! My favorite so far are the chimichangas, the Mega Burrito, and the burger. Prices are very inexpensive by the way. Earlier this month I went with my wife and 2 friends and the check was less than $50 and we all left with a full stomach because portions are huge (tacos are regular size.) I live in Homestead, we do have a lot of options for good tacos down here more so than the rest of Miami, so the news of another taco shop opening was not very exciting to me. As I pulled up to the pale green truck with a few plastic chairs outside, I looked at the window and saw a small handwritten menu consisting of tacos, burritos, hot dogs, and burgers among other things. Finally!!!! Been hearing a lot about this taco truck and how the owner Carlos is a gem. We've driven by several times but never had the time to stop. But this weekend we were in the mood for tacos and knew exactly where to go. It's located on the corner of a nursery inside a fence. He has tables and chairs outside along with a refrigerator where he keeps the drinks and he had some music playing. My BF went with a bowl(he was going back and forth between the burrito and bowl) with cow cheek and all the fixings! Little hidden gem in the outskirts of Homestead. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food with some American fare, made with fresh ingredients, check this food truck out. From the moment we arrived we knew we were somewhere special. We ordered 3 tacos (cow cheek, beef and pork), burger and empanada. The Colombo-Venezuelan empanada was worth the trip on its own. It was surprisingly large, filled with rice, cheese and steak. The burger had fresh beef, a fried egg, pineapple and fried potato sticks. The ambience was very inviting with a very gracious owner and cooks. They had a few tables out for those that wanted to stay and eat and there was a lot of takeout. Found this taco truck while driving around the neighborhood. Who can resist a truck that just says "TACOS" on it? Very convenient spot and plenty of parking. I think if you live in the area and you're on your way home but forgot to eat, it's a good option. The best part about the truck is definitely the convenience. Also, the owner was very nice and attentive. When it comes to the tacos, I've frequented many authentic taco spots in Homestead and this one is not my top choice. Is it delicious? Yes. I was down in the area real late at night the other day. Needed to put gas at the gas station next door. I was kind of hungry since I only ate Lunch in the afternoon and nothing since. So as I was filling my tank I went on the app and seen that this place had a pretty high rating and it was literally in eyesight of where I was filling up. Went there and there was a group of people at the table already eating. And was able to put my order in right away. They didn't have a menu or anything to look at but the guy in the truck said they had burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and chimichangas; in Chicken, pork, fish, barbacoa, and I think he said shrimp. But I quickly just said let me get three chicken tacos. It only took like less than 10 minutes. And they are authentic Mexican tacos like the ones you'll get in Mexico. The spicy salsa that came with it was real good. I killed them tacos in two second, and they were a nice size taco too. First off, Jalisco taco is a food truck that is parked in front of the kids day care center. They are in a light green truck and are usually opened Wednesday-Sundays and off Mondays and Tuesdays.the food is absolutely outstanding! the ladies in the truck are so sweet and nice and Carlos is always there enjoying what he does, making sure every order is perfect. He uses real pico de Gallo, cilantro and rice and beans and meat is well seasoned, the portions are huge I promise you will have left overs, it never fails. At this point I feel we go at least once a week every month. We enjoy the efficiency and location. We have tried their burgers which are also delicious but the tacos are our favorite. We usually order the chimichanga with beef I promise you will not be dissatisfied. I wish I can share pictures but we always end up eating it before I remember to take a picture!!
