I really like the customer service at this Jamba Juice location. They're always friendly and efficient. I visited today in the early evening, and there was a bit of a line because of their $5 acai bowl special for Acai National Day. There were only two people working, the cashier and someone making the smoothies, but even with the crowd, I waited no more than 5 minutes for my order. I got my boyfriend the $5 acai primo bowl, topped with strawberries, blueberries, banana, and granola. I had a bite and it was good. The toppings were fresh, though I wish the base was a bit more tart. I also redeemed my small smoothie birthday reward and got the Mango-a-Go-Go. It was made thick, just the way I like it. Some of my other favorite smoothies here are the Strawberry Surfrider and Caribbean Passion. read more

I recently joined Jamba Rewards and was given a welcome reward of 50% off a smoothie. I used it at the Cerritos location, and shortly after, I received another 50% off reward; this time, it was for any food item that wasn't a bowl. Both rewards were valid for about 2 weeks after issue. With a couple days left until expiry, I used the 50% off any food item reward at the Lakewood location, which is located at Restaurant Row on Candlewood just west of Clark. I arrived about 20 minutes after opening on a Thursday morning, and there was one other customer inside the shop placing her order, giving me some time to study the menu. Knowing that the food item doesn't include a bowl, that really narrowed my menu choices down to just the "Bites" section of the menu. The lone employee (Jonathan?) working that morning confirmed that was the case. I went with the Classic Handwich, normally $5.99, since I highly doubt I would want to pay full price on any given day, so I used the 50% off opportunity to see if it was really worth the $5.99 price tag. A Classic Handwich is composed of sausage, egg, and white cheddar cheese on a sprouted grain bun. After I placed my order, Jonathan opened a fridge underneath the toaster oven and took out a wrapped breakfast sandwich. He placed the sandwich in front of the oven while he went to prepare the other customer's order. At first, I thought he may have done things out of order, but maybe he was just waiting for the oven to warm up? Luckily, it took only 4 minutes before Jonathan handed me my Classic Handwich in a bag similar to one that would hold a cookie or some other baked good from a coffee shop. I was looking forward to the Handwich, but was a little surprised at how small it was for the price point. For the same price, at least the normal one, you could get a way bigger sandwich at Dunkin. But maybe the sandwich would taste good? Well, yes and no. While I liked the taste of the sandwich, it was only to a certain extent that I can safely say I'd never want to pay over $6 for a sandwich that small. Not only that, but I also wasn't offered any ketchup or some other sauce that could have elevated the flavor profile by quite a margin. I also wasn't offered any napkins; I had to get one myself at the front counter. As I was leaving, Jonathan welcomed me as I was leaving. What?! First time for everything I guess lol. I had to correct him by saying "Have a nice day." I didn't get the impression he wanted to be working that early in the morning; either that, or he must have woken up on the wrong side of bed. They have a display case of their bites at the front counter as well, but at the time of my visit, there were only soft pretzels and Belgian-style waffles inside. Next to that display case is a kiosk where you can place your order if you want one fewer interaction with an employee here. They also have a fridge and some bags of snacks by the left wall. However, at the time of my visit, they mainly had bottles of Smartwater inside the fridge, and all but one of the snack bags were Stacy's chips. Pretty sad selection of grab & go snacks/drinks if you ask me! I doubt you'd find a lesser variety at, say, a Nekter Juice Bar! Overall, 5 stars out of 10, but I'm rounding down because of my first visit 7 to 8 years ago where I ordered a strawberry smoothie on a really hot summer day, and it didn't do a good job of cooling me off that day. Plus, service was also pretty flat in that the employees working that day weren't appreciative of my business or even my willingness to make the trek in spite of the heat wave going on back then. Jonathan's level of service wasn't much different that morning. Next time I visit a Jamba, it will almost certainly be in a city not named Lakewood. read more

Customer service is basically non-existent and selective here. No simple hi or welcome even though eye contact is already made. I ended up ordering through the self service kiosk after waiting behind a couple while not being acknowledged by the worker. The reason why I said selective is because when two older adults came in right after me, the worker seemed to welcome them in and actually asked them if she could take their order. I came in just to claim my $5 acai bowl offer I had anyways, so I didn't have high expectations for the bowl itself. Originally, the price for the bowl is $13 without tax, which is pretty steep for the size of the bowl and the actual acai blend. It's hard to compare to someplace like Natura bowls in Los Alamitos, but I would rather go there for my acai bowl needs-- also better service there and the quantity/quality can't be beat. read more

What could be improved? That is the question for the day. I ordered a mango a gogo, and I had green speckles in my drink. I understand that there's a possibility that you can get different fruit flavors in your drink. If in fact, the blender container isn't washed out properly so for all I know, I probably had soap in my drink as well. I'm not harsh with my reviews, but this one is coming at you hard when you spend $10 on a fruit drink you're kinda expected to be what you ordered. I walked in to pick up a mobile order and I walked to the mobile order pick up area and I stood there for about 10-15 minutes and not one worker acknowledged my presence. They glanced at me multiple times and did not once ask who I was picking up for nor took the time to greet or ask if I needed any assistance. You have a pick up section and someone is standing there you take a second to ask who they are picking up for and not ignore them. They had 5-6 customers order and hand out the orders and that's when I asked the guy at the register if my order was ready. All these employees need to get retrained! read more

Came here today to redeem some gift cards I had received a while ago. Certified both cards had a balance of $15 each. Josh was working the register and immediately told me that these cards couldn't be used since they were "old." I asked him to try them anyway since we did pay for the cards and would like to use the balance remaining. Josh told me if they didn't work he couldn't accept them. Again, I asked that he try and, if they didn't work that I would like to talk to a manager as it doesn't seem fair to buy gift cards and not be able to use them. Josh ran the cards and they worked just fine. He then refused to give me back the card with a remaining balance; I had to insist on getting it back. I was there 2 weeks ago and ordered a drink. As I was waiting I had to use their restroom. I was denied by guy who took my order and their manager Vanessa. They told me restroom was only for employees. Then they told me to use Jimmy John's restroom located next to them. The reason is because their employees had attitudes, acted like they didn't want to help the customers and just all out rude. I use to frequent this place back in the day but stopped coming in because of some of the complaints that some of the other yelpers have left. I started coming by again about 2 weeks ago and noticed that everything was much cleaner and the attitude of the staff has improved dramatically! Stopped by again yesterday and I was amazed that the place looked better than it did before. The staff greeted me right away and was extremely helpful. Everything tasted great so I asked the staff member what has changed in the last couple of weeks. The young man told me that they have a new store manager named Richard and that he has improved the culture of the store and that the staff really enjoys working for him. great job Richard next time I stop by I am going to ask for you and congratulate you in person on a job well done. The logic, or lack thereof in response to CoVID procedures are terrible. I visit this location unbeknownst to me and unaware of the new procedures (i.e. calling in or using the app to order). I totally understand why businesses have resorted to these types of procedures; however, the female representative was very unwelcoming and unhelpful during this visit. I ended up leaving, and will not return to this location. She stated I needed to place my order ahead of time by calling the number or going on the app. I proceeded to call the number, and she answered and stated I needed to now go on the app and "besides, it would be about 20 minutes"...to MAKE A SMOOTHIE?! So, here I am waiting outside, abiding by the rules, she cannot take my order because of these new procedures, in-person, nor over the phone and proceeds to emphasize the long wait; with clearly nobody but me outside. Reading through the other reviews I can see that I'm not the only one with a bad experience at this location. Customer Service training nor logic is apparently not a priority at this location. Not my usual JJ, but I've frequented this outlet when I'm in the area. The service has been middle of the road - employees here have never been too friendly or welcoming, and the wait for my smoothie is usually longer than I'm used to. I have noticed that a couple times when my son and I have stayed and sat at the tables drinking our juice that the table and floors did not look too clean. Tables have been sticky and the floor always looks like it could use a mop down. Overall, ok - service is acceptable, smoothies have been made to standard, but all in all - nothing to write home about. read more

Came here around 6 to get some smoothies for a friend and I. I ordered a PB& banana protein smoothie with blueberries added in. At first, there was a girl and a guy making my smoothies together, bickering back and forth over something. Then the guy sets down the blender cup, turns around, and starts having a conversation with his coworkers. Cussing and talking super loudly. He finishes his conversation and returns to blending my drinks but someone calls him out for not adding in the blueberries. Also, this same gentleman is wearing shorts and a Nike windbreaker to work while everyone else has Jamba Juice aprons on. I'm not even 100% positive he worked there. Finally, a different employee puts my drink to blend and puts it in cups. That experience was stupid to say the least. read more
