Can't say enough good things about this office. They are so competent and professional. I was on a business event in Virginia where my crown came off since I do not live there. I found this office on Google at 4:30 PM in the evening. I called them and I told them what was happening. They asked me to come right over and the doctor stayed back and re-cemented my crown everybody there was so helpful and so kind. What a caring Office. If I lived in the area I would've been going there for my regular care but I called 5 offices before I called them, and no one was willing to see me last minute at that time. I was suppose to go in for molds to be made and then leave, they ended up pulling teeth and drilling my jaw for the implants. I was in the chair for at least 3 hours while a client was waiting for me at the office. When they finished putting in the final product, it was crooked and too big, anyone could see the metal post. I spent $10,000 and had to go to another dentist to have him fix this dentist work. This other dentist wasn't much better, I got taken to the cleaner when my new dentist said I needed to see a root canal specialist in Hampton, he charged me $1800. My back tooth that he worked on still hurt, I went to my regular dentist who referred me to his root canal friend. He said I see what's wrong, that tooth is cracked, I'm going to have to pull it. $2100 down the drain. Dental insurance is a joke, they have a price if you have insurance and a lower price if you don't have insurance. This is sad that there is so much greed in the USA. Use to be you need a filing, now it's you need three sides of that tooth filled, so you are charged for three fillings. These dentist sit in multimillion dollar homes! read more

The staff was very attentive with everyone introducing themselves to me. That is where the experience takes a turn downhill. They don't have enough seating in their waiting room for their busy practice and after waiting for 45 minutes, was told that myself and two others in the waiting room were waiting to be seen by Dr. Burden. That there were no "rooms" for us to wait in and there was no telling how long the wait would be. I can only assume that he and his staff have terrible time management skills or he had an emergency patient that was taking unexpectedly long. Me and dental implant needs will be going elsewhere. In summary; don't go here if you enjoy keeping your money. For what, to my knowledge, was a routine cleaning, I was provided an estimated out of pocket bill of 240; I was informed this would be at least generally accurate, even after clearly identifying my insurance, and asking specifically if that would change the price. I paid the 240, and several weeks later, I was hit with a bill for an additional 460 dollars. All told, a routine cleaning and x-ray will be a $700 out of pocket expense. Additionally, I made 6 calls over three weeks trying to get more information on the billing issue. I was repeatedly told, "we are looking into it," "we'll call you back," etc. I was never called back, and each call clearly indicated that no annotation of my requests was being made; no one was actually "looking into it." The office refused to take any accountability of the fact that their estimate was a fraction of the actual bill. "The estimate is only an estimate." Fair enough; but an "estimate" that is less than 30% of the actual bill isn't even really an estimate, is it? The office reiterated that it was a problem I should take up with my insurance, completely neglecting that their grossly-inaccurate estimate, and confusion about their own accepted insurance, were the issues. All told, a routine cleaning left me with a $700 out of pocket bill and weeks of unfruitful attempts to get any information on the issue. I was ultimately told, "You can figure it out with the insurance company." Fair enough; but if you want to avoid a similar experience of prohibitive expense, wildly inaccurate pricing, and refusal to offer even the most basic level of assistance, I strongly suggest you avoid this office. read more

KEEP AWAY!! Unfortunately I didn't know any better. I needed quite a bit of work and was told implants weren't an option because I didn't have enough bone for the posts, my only option was partials on top and bottom and I needed some crowns. Long story short crowns are good, bottoms are OK but tops are horrible! They hurt and I can't talk or eat with them. Went back in and was told implants are my only option for top. After spending over $16,000 all of the sudden I can do implants on the top for an additional $13,000. I'm still making payment on first bill and since it's financed they got paid and I have no recourse I want to warn others to do research and get second or third opinions. I am disgusted on how I was treated by the office the office in Va Beach. which I'm sure was racially motivated. I have been going to Dr Burden office in Williamsburg previously. but today I called because I was in pain, face swollen with a fever. the person over the phone made me an appt I'm Va Beach at 4pm. I live about an 1hour and 15 minutes away from this office might I add. I drove over there in Friday traffic across the HRBT. Only to be turned away because the Receptionlist and DR Phamm are racist. they tried to make me pay a copay of $175 claiming they couldn't verify my insurance coverage, I have full dental insurance thru delta and my copay is only $50 I refuse to pay the $175 and called delta and got the specific info needed, since the receptionist was incompetent and was unable to do so. I collected the info which took up my time. Long story short after wasting my time driving over 3 hours the receptionist told me I was correct about the copay but refused to see me until Next Wednesday. this is the most disgusting vile inhumane service I have ever received by a doctor and medical staff. i will be filing a complaint with the ADA on Dr Pham and followlng up with the staff about the receptionist. And also leaving every review I can. If this is the way this location treats black ppl than it should be public knowledge. And what's even worse Dr Pham isn't white herself ...so I'm unclear on why she's discriminating!!!! All of this because they wanted to make me pay more because If the color of my skin. When I clearly had verifiable insurance. There service doesn't even deserve a star! The audacity of anyone to think they can disrespect my time like this but no worries I will continue to share this disgusting experience I had with this office with everyone I know. Follow up*** I received a call from the office manager who claimed to want to speak about my experience. She actually wanted to argue and debate with me. Lady who called to confirm my appointment (think it was someone named Angela) hung up without a goodbye or thank you, any kind of formal or informal notification of ending the call. Last time I was in they had my anxiety up high with "emergency" work that needed to be done or my life was going to end. At least that's how they made it seem. Prices are high and they don't tend to bill insurance correctly. I used to love my hygienist there. They did cancel my appointment (double booked with a new patient & canceled mine bc I had to r/s in the past due to being pregnant). I came in for a routine teeth cleaning, and the hygienist clearly did not like me for some reason. The hygienist got frustrated with me as my mouth was open wide, but not wide enough. Thus, the experience with the hygienist was extremely unpleasant. Oh, and if that hygienist didn't like her job, she could of went onto course career, put $500 down to work in tech sales. We have always been treated respectfully also they're very up front and honest about the coast before hand. I appreciate Dr. Burton because he treats me as a person and not a money symbol . I'm incredibly disappointed in the Dr. Burden's office. I keep getting mailers to my home with my deceased mother's name and have asked to have her name and our address taken off of their mailing list. I keep getting a run-around. When I called I can only get the scheduling center (frustrating) and I'm unable to speak to someone who can assist. Finally someone assisted (as much as they could) and said they paid an outside source to get names and addresses to drum up new business. My mother has been deceased for 2 years...so the company Dr. Burden is using is giving him outdated information...and I was told there is nothing they can do except go to the post office and be put on a do not mail list. read more

Took our son here for a cleaning after receiving an advertisement in the mail upon moving to the area. Hygienist was friendly and all went well until we were brought into an office afterwards to talk about new retainers. I immediately noticed the whiteboard that tracks their 'sales' for the month - appalling to have that visible to clients. We left with a quote for the retainers, which I then found via an online (Invisalign-like place) for 20 percent of what they quoted. Then, as icing on this bitter cake, they keep sending multiple texts about another cleaning even though we canceled bc of the pandemic. When I finally responded to texts requesting they stop the constant messaging, they send me yet another one later that very night at MIDNIGHT. We had the unfortunate experience of being patients there and thinking we were dealing with an honest business. They will quote you a price and then bill you for something different. Even when we got the fee in writing in advance they tried to charge more and "UP SELL" Then they send you to one of there "SALES PEOPLE" out front where we were quoted $28,000 for dental work. Bria is my daughter's dental hygienist and she is SO SO wonderful and always remembers her and the things they talked about on the previous visit (like the books my daughter is reading). DO NOT GO HERE! For starters, the music was blaring when we walked in. Secondly, patients sat and waited for over 30 min beyond their appointment time while the front desk agent continued to call back to the hygienists. To top off this whole experience, and here's the kicker.....If you would like to be harassed via mail and phone calls for a month for a payment that was sent weeks ago via their requested form of payment, then have at it. That is not how I like to operate. We were sent a bill for $22. On the statement it says to pay via PayPal. I found this to be a bit odd for an established dentistry, but I do not send checks in the mail. So PayPal it was. I put a note stating which patient the payment was for. For two weeks following, we received phone calls and emails and mail saying the bill needed to be paid. When I was finally able to get ahold of the billing coordinator, I told her it was paid via PayPal as that was a form of payment on the statement. She proceeded to tell me that she doesn't have access to the PayPal and that only the office manager has access to that. Explain to me this: if you are the billing coordinator and are harassing patients for payment, but you have no way of knowing if this payment has been made, should you even be requesting payment? Absolutely terrible. I can see why their rating is so low. read more

I went to this dentist 4 years ago for a cleaning and was told that I needed my wisdom teeth out and a planing/scaling which I got done on the same day. Not sure if they actually did the planing/scaling since I took the twilight drugs for the wisdom teeth but my gums seemed to be untouched and not sore in any way afterward. I was also told at this time that I had 9 cavities! I didn't have the money to get it all done so I said I would come back to get the work done later. They proceeded to take me into a finance office to get me a credit card to get work done. I still didn't make an appointment so I was then relentlessly harassed with phone calls, texts, emails, and postcards to make an appointment to the point I literally had to call the office and demand that they stop. Fast forward 4 years to today. I went to a different dentist this morning for the first time in 4 years. Dreading the whole time thinking that those 9 cavities are probably way worse. Guess what? I actually have one yes one cavity! So yes they lied to me. I'm convinced I didn't get the expensive planing/scaling procedure and never had nine cavities unless I have magic teeth that repair cavities on their own. I'm just now realizing how truly awful it is to do this to people who already have a fear of the dentist. I'm writing this review in hopes to help someone else who might end up in my situation. You never think to get a second opinion for a dental procedure but after this I sure would recommend you do. Lesson learned. read more

I'm in so much pain and left being treated like I was some kind of drug addict when asking for pain medicine. If you're planning on ANY kind of oral surgery PLEASE go elsewhere! I went in for Tori Mandibular removal which should ONLY be performed by an oral surgeon. Dr Burden is far from it! Upon my consultation with his practice they were great selling me that they were qualified to do my procedure. What a joke! I specifically stated I wanted to be "out" for my procedure during my consult and I was told absolutely that I would be. I had to pay up front for my surgery. First red flag I should have noticed. Never pay for a medical procedure up front ever! Learned a lesson! Upon arrival of my surgery day. I was taken to my room. The nurses were trying to figure out who was going to help Dr. Burden. Apparently none of them wanted to assist in my procedure. Dr Burden was numbing my gums. I thought this was normal before they put you out. Then they place the nitrogen nose tube on me. The nurse was trying to figure if it was working not. Second red flag. I felt completely awake and alert. and still felt my tongue. I thought Dr Burden was still trying to numb me when he was actually cutting my gums to form a flap for my procedure. I started to panic! I was sitting up and questioning why I was still awake for my procedure. Dr Burden stated he was not scheduled for me to be under! Whelp! I stated I can in no way do this awake. Then he says he's ALREADY cut my gums to start the removal of my large tori. I was hysterical by this point. I felt trapped ! He said he didn't have time to put me under and that I would have to reschedule. One of the nurses (Asian assistant) rolled her eyes and basically said I needed to go ahead and do the procedure since I've already been cut open. Imagine feeling helpless.. shocked.. so I went through with the procedure. It was the most God awful experience of my life. I begged for headphones (which they had to borrow from someone on staff)... I'm sure it was disinfected since I was having surgery! NOT! I laid crying the entire time. Not one person on staff was prepared to assist with confidence or be prepared for my type of procedure. I will never get that sound of drilling and cutting the bone. Nor the smell of blood running down my throat. None of the things the dr asked for were near by or available. Red flag 3,4 maybe 5. After they were done with my procedure, there was absolutely NO POST OP!!!!!! My husband was in the lobby waiting for me confused as to what exactly happened to me after seeing my hysterics. We left! Not one call, post op, follow up ... NOTHING! I was in severe pain.. bleeding for 3 days straight. I didn't want to go back there, but felt it was necessary because I knew something was wrong. I had large white ulcers on both areas where the Tori was removed. So crazy painful. Dr Burden said they were ulcers, but wasn't quite sure why my gums looked like they did at this point. He prescribed my antibiotics, pain meds, magic mouth (joke), and told me to come back in a week! Well I went to my actual dentist who I trust and he referred me to an ACTUAL oral surgeon. Unfortunately I wasn't the first Botched surgery he has seen from Dr Burden! The white ulcers in my mouth was actually BONE! Exposed bone... to my horror! He didn't even remove all the Tori. It's been well over 2 weeks and my gums have not healed. Because he did not do my procedure correctly! I have to now go to a specialist at MCV to see if anything an be done to repair Dr Burdens mess. This has been a complete nightmare! I'm not one to usually write a full on review.. but this deserved one. I hope I can prevent this man and his awful practice from doing any further harm to Anyone else in the future. Had a great experience! I came down during Christmas break and I was anxious because I only had three days before going back to Fairfax to get a dentist appointment. My usual dentist was booked and turned me down. I called five other dentists and this office had an appointment next day for me. This will now be my new dentist office. The staff is friendly and the dentists are excellent. The technology is way more updated than my usual dentist's office as well. I had to get a filling during my appointment. I usually get anesthesia because I'm a wimp lol but I went without it this time. Ferren was super attentive and my filling didn't even hurt. Will definitely come again for my next checkup. The best dentist office I've found in this area, since moving from Atlanta. Dr Burden is funny, has a nice bedside manner, and my hygienist, Rose, is AWESOME, also the front desk and scheduling staff are pretty nice, all the time. So ask for Rose if you can :) and enjoy this large practice with updated technology, clean rooms, and bright open waiting areas. They "researched" the procedures I needed done and said that my insurance would cover everything needed. Was my 2nd choice for a dentist. Rates were cheaper than other dentist for my daughter's braces without compromising service & attention. Great atmosphere, but the constant contact, emails, text, postcards is annoying. Can be grossly overwhelming. A bit of upcharge but it is a 'for profit ' organization and I suppose they have to find a way to pay the large staff. Service deserves 4-5 stars, but the haggle of the constant contact and over the top upcharge in additional services is hard to ignore. read more

What a great dental group. From the time I walked into the office (greeted by their great staff) to meeting the hygienists and the dentists who work in this office, it was a great experience. I had a tooth that cracked and needed a crown. They were able to see me within 24 hours and had a new crown in place within 4 hours after our initial consultation. They were upfront with me, told me of the cost associated with the crown and delivered excellent service and compassion in working with me. My daughter goes here and recommended this office to me, so I called and scheduled an appointment with them because I have been having tooth pain and needed to see someone. I get there today and they said I never confirmed my appointment. They asked if I had received a text. I told them no, I had not received one and that I was surprised because they said they would send me one. So because I didn't get a text, they canceled my appointment! Now they are super busy and they will try to "fit me in." Come to find out, they had texted my daughter instead. I sit there and watch person after person get called back while I was waiting for them to "try to work me in" because they texted the wrong person. A man came in and said he was 20 minutes early so they told him to have a seat that they would call him back shortly. Five minutes later they call him back while I am still waiting for my 1:00 appointment. At that point I had had enough. Why should I wait when they canceled my appointment through no fault of my own?? I left infuriated and called my daughter who then called them and made a complaint on how I was treated. She asked them to delete both of our files. Neither of us will ever go there again. read more

Overpriced, staff talks about you like you aren't there (common for medical field), but service rendered seems good. Prices (Self-pay): Comprehensive Oral Evaluation - $74 Panoramic & 4 Bitewing Digital X-rays - $134 Prophylaxis Cleaning - $98 Fluoride Application - $34 Total (Less 3% paid in full discount) - $323 3 people in room at a time shifting talking roles rapidly. Everything was quickly explained, barely saw doctor, but they did ask if I had questions a few times. They all had what I call a fake pleasant demeanor - fake smiles, fake interest in small talk, etc. The receptionist was genuinely nice though. All that being said, the services seemed good although I'm far from an expert. I'd rate them a 3/5 for customer service, 4/5 for quality of dental service provided, and 2/5 for affordability. It was at the end of the day, so maybe that affected time spent w/ doctor and the customer service aspect. I saw the whole staff leave while sitting in my car practically 5 mins after checking out. I got an estimate for adult orthodontics, four extractions necessary for orthodontics, and 2 composite fillings. The total was $7000. I plan on getting their x-rays transferred to a doctor with more affordable prices and better customer service. read more

STAY AWAY. A friend recommended this practice to me for a good deal on a cleaning. I had dental insurance and didn't expect any trouble. They diagnosed me with EIGHT cavities, bullied me into a payment plan I didn't want because the amount of fillings would max out my insurance coverage, and refused to listen when I said I didn't want to schedule the appointments (two appointments!) for the fillings. The hygienist who did my cleaning was nice enough, but misled me about how much the fluoride treatment would cost. Then, the dentist I saw was with me for about two minutes, and looked at the wrong set of x-rays before looking briefly at mine. I consulted with the dentist I had before I moved to VA, who I trust. This dentist was APPALLED, and said I didn't have any cavities that needed filling, just one incipient lesion that needs observation. This practice is out to milk you for money--from the window of the financial office, I could see a white board tracking how much money each dentist had made for the practice that month. It was sickening. And, they bombard me with marketing emails constantly. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE unless you want unnecessary fillings. read more

I am newly retired in this area and found this practice to be the best that I've ever visited. The technology is great and what I expected from a full service dentistry. Dr. Maharty explained in detail what I needed and was not rushed in doing so. He and then his assistants made me feel comfortable and confident that he was going to do it as explained. The professional yet fun staff were excellent and relaxed. My children both went to this office. We are new to the area and picked this one based on an advertisement. I am 100% switching to another office. Each child had there checkup and I then had to meet for a consultation. It was suggested that my 10 year old get braces in the next 3 months and implied that it was critical. Needless to say we went to an actual orthodontist and we are in no need of spending $5000 - $7000 for her braces.
