Fearful to the max of root canals (due to previous nightmares), Dr. Oltra and his staff helped me through the procedure without a hitch. I recently had to go have my first root canal done. Root canals, by definition, are not fun. In…read morefact, I think "root canal" comes from the Latin, rootius canalius, meaning "dental torture session" or something to that effect. In the thesaurus, "root canal" is listed as an antonym for "fun". So I had low expectations for my comfort level going into this. To my surprise and relief, Dr. Bolger and his staff are quick, efficient, friendly, and cool about the whole process. They really did treat me well, starting with Dr. Bolger making sure he completely numbed my gums and jaw first. He was also really cool about explaining the whole process to me as he did it, because I took genuine interest in how root canals work (it's pretty cool, you should probably look it up). I had to pay out-of-pocket for this operation ($850), but it was definitely well worth it, if you have to have a root canal done.
