The front desk had the nicest folks, who knew your name, knew your family, and would have pleasant banter about your dental situation - now they are as friendly as the clerk at a bus station ticket window. Today I called to make an appointment, the very bland desk worker comes back on the phone and says, "It's been too long since you had your last cleaning...you are now considered a new patient...and we're not accepting new patients". Translation: Take a hike, mister. How about that. When Shuck first opened his doors, my family was there. He had so few patients, that I could call at 9am and be in his chair at 10am. My whole family were onboard AND we referred numerous others. NOW I am a "NEW PATIENT that cannot be accepted now or ever". It's a new year. Me and my family are moving on. They keep several slots open each day for emergencies, and adjusted their appointments to get two of my kids back to back appointment times for our convenience. Two of my teenagers have now seen Dr. Springmann and have been very happy. My son needed a filling and is tricky to anesthetize (odd nerve patterns he got from me). Despite needing an extra shot, he was very happy with Dr. Springmann, reporting nothing but care, patience, and professionalism. We are new to the area, and sometimes it's hard to find a dental provider that works for a family. I am very thankful that we found this practice first.

My journey started in October 2024 and involved multiple dentists, crown replacements, countless adjustments, consultations with specialists, and even a root canal. Throughout that time, I knew something still wasn't right, but I never felt like anyone was truly getting to the bottom of the problem. From my first visit, Dr. Loren Masuoka was different. He listened carefully to my concerns, took my symptoms seriously, and never made me feel like I was imagining things. Instead of dismissing what I was experiencing, he genuinely wanted to understand why I was still having pain and find a solution. During my appointment, he took the time to evaluate my bite and noticed that my crown was taking most of the force when I bit down. He carefully adjusted it and explained what he was seeing. The result has been incredible. For the first time since October 2024, I can chew on the right side of my mouth without pain. The cold sensitivity is gone, and I no longer spend every meal worrying about that tooth. After nearly two years of frustration, appointments, and uncertainty, I finally feel like myself again. The greatest gift Dr. Masuoka gave me was making me feel heard. Bonesteel is a family friend, so they called me back and offered me an appointment in July, I said oh I'm sorry that won't work because my insurance runs out in June. They apologized and told me it wouldn't work, so we hung up and went about our days.... Or so I thought. Fast forward to now where I'm trying to book with my new jobs insurance, and I'm told I'm blacklisted because of an appointment I didn't show up for in July. The one I said I couldn't do because my insurance wouldn't be active and I couldn't afford out of pocket. Spoke to the receptionist today and she was really nasty to me on the phone and said she "would not argue with me anymore about this" and that "there's no proof, there's only an appointment you didn't show up for" and "it was so long ago that we can't verify this", and hung up on me.
